I'm loving Rachel's new midscreen windless combo route off random counter hits, now we can get decent damage, corner carry and wind regen (because it's all grounded) without the use of wind :yaaay:

So off CH 6a, CH j.c, random frog hit and probably more (bolded parts are interchangeable!) :

[dash 5b > 6a > delay 236a > dash 3c > iris] > [dash 6a > 4b] > dash 5cc

----

Also, her new air confirm off j.c is gdlk as well... we can get a full combo off any random air to air hit with :

[any air hits] > j.c > j.2d > land 6a > 4b > etc.

And lastly, you can get this combo off normal hit anti-air 6a too it would seem... like even a really high 6a can be picked up with 5b because of they fall faster, into the aforementioned pickup.

My hype for hime-sama in BBCP has been revived :D

Nice, that should be a fullscreen corner carry right? I wonder if that combo works from 5B 5CD 3C8D.

Also, do we have some good combos with j.A starter now?

Lotus still seems underused from what I've read.

No troll. Does Rachel have bat cock block mix up? Is she able to use the bats with the rods to cover her buttons up and just destroy hopes and dreams?

the first lobelia looks like the c version, I may be seeing this wrong but before hitting the wall, the first lobelia goes higher than the second one. either way, it's highly likely that one is c version and the other is b version due to smp.

I have one question, what exactly does Barrel Lotus do, (The special that creates bats from the lobelia rods.)

It causes the opponent and Rachel to be more susceptible to wind when the opponent is hit. 22A affects horizontal(?) and 22B affects vertical(?) distance when the wind is being used. I may have missed some details but thats the gist of it.

that's all we know besides the fact that the wind has homing properties with lotus which hasn't been seen much to make sense of. they don't affect the summons. maybe pole trajectory...

I'm beginning to think this way. Rachel already looks good this game (To my delight) but, I feel like lotus has some secret that'll make people bow to its awesomness.

Could very well be a rather pointless unique move that doesn't really see a whole lot of development.

I've seen players using the horizontal version for better corner carry. You can also wallslam the opponent into the corner from a longer distance.

I forgot which video it was, but I saw a Rachel player do unusually fast overheads from far away using bats and j.2c9d. That may have just been fatigue setting in though.

I don't think Lotus will improve her average damage output in any way.

j.2c is an overhead again? Did I miss something?

Goddamn I'm so rusty at BB, my combos look like CS1 Rachel damagewise :/

Yeah so far it looks like it gives better corner carry which is always nice. Another use I saw for it was for a really sneaky winded 3c from almost fullscreen... it almost felt like a Tsubaki shield rush lol, so fast

So level 3 j.2C combos are completely gone now right? I really miss those. I wanna be hopeful and think that there's some undiscovered technique with Beelze Lotus (vertical one?) that allows for her to do them. I hardly see anyone use that version.

probably not gone, but it might need to be early in the combo, like bbl, to continue.

vertical lotus might make level 3 j.2c a really strong combo extender down the line. or not...

also a silly inquiry but, why is rachel's astral damage so abysmal? it's like she's not even trying...

she does whatever's left of the damage that needs to be done to reach 0 hp

would you feel better if the damage counter wrote ∞ instead?

But remember that Rachel is indeed not even trying. She just sends her pets to fight for her, and when she's defeated, it's actually Nago that's defeated, not her, as he takes all the hits for her. I hope that someday we get an alternate Rachel character where it's actually her that fights and not her zoo.
