Jet Set Dizzy Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 I think it's a safe assumption that got the worst deal for AC......but it's just my two cents. what a coincadence. thats everybody in the boards 2 cents too. :P
Ice Prince Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 what a coincadence. thats everybody in the boards 2 cents too. :P Haha, nice to know I've still got it. =P I've never looked at the Dizzy boards, but simply based on stuff I had seen/read, it was a hunch. Who knows though.....she'll probably be the next god tier come next game.
Josh Ballard Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 little Eddie = free genei-jin. You eat a command grab at the end, and you're seriously proud of yourself for not getting hurt even more...just like Yun. *sigh*
frcflyingjohnny Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Man that's like saying JO gets free genei-jin at the beginning of every round. There are ways to get out of Eddie pressure (or deny it). There is not ways to get out of genei-jin. All you need to know how to do is use tension wisely.
Ice Prince Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 True. Little Eddie traps aren't hard to avoid, nor to escape. It will be interesting to see how it is in AC though, since he already has an unblockable type of set up in the corner with his FD drill.....but we shall see.
frcflyingjohnny Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Yea, we'll see how many people stuck to Eddie to be decent with him now. The thing about Eddie pressure now is that, if he's on you, and you don't have tension to get him off, he'll unblockable/get through to you anyway.
Josh Ballard Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 I haven't seen people get out of his stuff with the new shadow K and it looked safe from FD to me...but maybe there's some tech I'm missing. America's gonna have a bunch of Eddie whores, especially now that he's easier than #r, so we need to figure out how to deal with all this. Also, the recent Popeye 3on3 videos feature a decent amount of Dizzy winning. vs. Eddie & Testa even! Maybe H.H. will find a way to make her not suck...
4r5 Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 I've seen two matchs where the guy IB the first hit of Kshadow and 2P'ed before the second hit hit.

The thing about Eddie pressure now is that, if he's on you, and you don't have tension to get him off, he'll unblockable/get through to you anyway. Not true at all. There are MANY gaps in Eddie's new rushdown. I've seen plenty of players DP and even 6P out of it. There are large holes in the rushdown.
Ice Prince Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 They might have meant when the actual set up in the corner takes place....not the set up to the corner. Once he actually gets you into the corner and he starts his FB drill set ups...that's what I was talking about. And on another note, yes we probably will got even more whores. I actually hope alot of people don't pick up on . I like playing a character alot of people don't play.....it makes me feel "special".
Pinion Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 .....it makes me feel "special". I'm a heterosexual male and I consider you to be banging hot for a guy. I think that's special enough if you ask me. Anyways, I'm curious to see what kind of character overuse begins to fester here in the U.S.. People are saying Eddie, but I've got my money on Testament.

Ice Prince Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 LOL, well thank you Pinion. Yes I'll bet on and whoring as well. I'm sure Jamie will be loving some AC Testy action.
koogy Posted February 16, 2007 Author Posted February 16, 2007 testament > eddie > jam > slayer in terms of easy in this game imo.

It will be interesting to see how it is in AC though, since he already has an unblockable type of set up in the corner with his FD drill.....but we shall see. Hard to avoid is probably not the best way to put it, since any blockstring or knockdown sets up his pressure. Hard to escape depends, kinda. And yeah, the shadow K doesn't combo on block so you can get out in between hits. Shadow P doesn't do a great job of filling in gaps like before. Definitely more gaps in the pressure, still as scary to get hit trying to get out as before though. Also some people seem to have forgotten how popular Order Sol was when he was bad.
rtl42 Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 keep the sex outta the thread, i'm getting REALLY irritated by how off-topic you guys are getting >=0
Ice Prince Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Aw, I'm sorry rtl.....I really didn't mean to become the subject of sexual discussion. But back to Actually avoid and escape shouldn't be too difficult if you know what to watch for. I could easily 214k through a gap should I be close enough. In the corner during a gap, I could also easily throw an S or FB disc considering how fast they can come out to interrupt it. Like you said, the scary part is that you have to worry about getting out without getting hit, and I'm sure each character has some type of tool they could use. If all else fails, just IB or Burst. Just my observation on it though. And yes, will probably be whored now as well.
Zoogstin Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 And yes, will probably be whored now as well. Like he isn't already.
Pinion Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 And yes, will probably be whored now as well. If there's one positive thing I've noticed upon the release of AC it's the fact that Sol footage isn't as prevalent like it was during the days of Slash. So I guess it's safe to assume the number of Sol players may be on the decline (in Japan at least). Let's hope the same can be said for the states once AC is made more accessible. I can, sadly, see people running to OS though with his new beef ups though. But I don't think it'll be that bad. *knocks on wood*

Just my observation on it though. Unfortunately the problem with Eddie rushdown isn't that it's seamless or anything, quite the opposite. The problem with Eddie rushdown is that there are gaps but Eddie has a way of covering most of them and he has a million ways to bait your relatively small set of escape options, or to change it up so that you jump the gun. So yeah Eddie kinda loses his old tensionless full-block-combo-to-corner pressure but I wouldn't get too antsy about it yet.
Ice Prince Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 I do agree Crimson. But after you play against him, you'll catch on after awhile I'd say. You'll be able to notice when there is a certain gap, and the possibility of getting out/away. We'll just have to wait for AC to test this stuff out some.
Zoogstin Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Eddie, atleast since Slash, had gaps in his pressures which why you would often see good eddie players have lil eddie attacking on the ground while regular eddie is jumping up and down spamming j.K Just to simply reduce the chances of players jumping out.
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 There have been a lot of Order-Sol players in AC, this is true. But it should be noted that most of them aren't very good (yet). Even kaqn's massive winstreaks have been dropping off in Chariot vids. He's still Order-Sol with the same playstyle, he just has quite a few new tools that fill in his old gaps. I also think that normal Sol will probably catch on again soon, he's too good.
