(ikinari oissu!) - 214+D Just like the hand slap just frame on his scalpel pull back, but done close to the ground. レレレの超突き (ReReRe no Choutsuiki) - j.236+D Done in the air, Faust lands on his pogo, just like in 236+S. ここからが見所ですよ!(Koko kara ga Midokoro desu yo!) - After hikimodoshi 236+D 視聴者全員サービスぅ (Shichousha zenin saabisuu) - After Koko kara... 236+D New Gattlings: 2D->2S 2D->5K 2S->5K near.5S->5P Far 5S->2K J.S->J.K Removed Gattlings: 5K->2S New Item: Tub - hits like a hammer. It seems to target the opponent. Item Changes: Coin - If the opponent is hit by it, handslap sets them on fire. Note: You do not need to get the just frame on the hand slap to set your opponent on fire (with the coin), but they can recover. Other Changes: Ground flower has vacuum. It also floats the opponent (only on knockdown from 236S?). The flower also appears farther away. 2S also has vacuum Pogo hit now knocks the opponent down, and has added slide effect. Bomb bag has a larger hitbox. 5K will wall stick (counter only?)
Zoogstin Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Faust was looking nasty in those vids. Once again he looks like he's going to be pretty solid in the next GG.
maxbenoit Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 I absolutely love the new Faust. It finally feels so RIGHT! What I'm loving now is that Faust is almost completely independant of his pogo. Though initially I thought this was going to be a huge nerf, it seems he has more than enough to make up with it. The new 2D is beautiful. 2D->2S or 2D->5K = more mid screen damage. His force breaks look great for pressure. In the video against Testament, he uses them to full extent. I saw IAD j.k, j.p, j.k, FB, pogo pressure. That's beauty right there. Also, his other FB can lead to some nasty damage in the corner in place of the weakened pogo. Man, I'm loving the new Faust so much. Can't wait to play this game.
bagandscalpel Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 2D->2S? 2D->5K?!? SHIT! Mm-mmm easy! FB overheads, and an upgraded low attack... Faust has it all, now (just waiting for a mini-Sol that VVs upon contact~).
4r5 Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 You mean a mini-Sol that Grand Vipers upon landing.
maxbenoit Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 I'm actually glad pogo got nerfed. It brings out more in the character. I realize like, 90% of my current combos involve pogo in Slash =/
Shekeib Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 looks like he has new ways for some bullshit Overheads. Thas what i like
maxbenoit Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Just noticed that 2H, 41236K is now combo-able I love AC.
BagLunch Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Just noticed that 2H, 41236K is now combo-able I love AC. It was comboable in Slash if you were either close to a crouching opponent, or on CH...
Zinac Posted December 25, 2006 Author Posted December 25, 2006 just saw Far 5S->2K in some vids, ohhhh man.
maxbenoit Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 This is good. The gatling from 5S -> 2K will remove f.S incredible recover frames. I was looking at other characters about and studying the slide mechanic. Pogo still has potential with my hypothesis! Here's my supposed combo: Ground combo -> 236S -> RC -> Run up -> 2D -> 2S -> 5K -> JC -> Air combo This is nice because it's simply an upped up version of a standard mid screen Faust pogo. I've never seen this implemented so I can't say if it works mid screen, corner or at all. If I see this at all though, I'll be happy. One other idea I wanna see with the pogo is Faust's 5P. I know that slide has some sort of air effect, I'm still kind of confused about it, but if you can get them in the corner, 5P may have potential again. Behold, 236S -> 9 -> 5P -> 5H -> FRC -> Air combo If this connects than Faust's only real nerf is eliminated. If any of this works, we end up with great new mix up options plus the same corner strategies we've been used to with Faust. EDIT: Merry Christmas guys. Hannakuh and Kwanza too if that's your thing.
Zoogstin Posted December 25, 2006 Posted December 25, 2006 Yeah. I have a real strong feeling there is some way to pick the opponent back up. Your theory looks pretty solid.
Wirya Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Or maybe we can use the ground flower after pogo to relaunch the opponent. And does Faust have a new item now? I saw something that looked like a box, hitting the opponent like the hammer but a bit slower.
Zoogstin Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Oh yeah I do remember that. It hit pretty hard too.
Zinac Posted December 26, 2006 Author Posted December 26, 2006 The new item appears to be a silver cylindrical object, I guess you could call it a U.F.O. I thought at one point it looked like a wok. In all the vids of Faust I've watched, haven't seen one person use the ground flower after a pogo knock-down. It wouldn't be possible anyway with the recovery frames of the pogo unless they were in the corner. I'm not sure how the slide effect works after an opponent hits the wall though. Ninja Edit: New Gattlings added, most note-worthy, Far.5S->5P 5K->2S removed. New Item: Tub
maxbenoit Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 I think after they hit the wall they just chill there for a while as if they were still slidin. Possibly pogo, 9, 5S work?
Zinac Posted December 26, 2006 Author Posted December 26, 2006 Well in the Loke test the flower would float the enemy after a 236.S knockdown, but it's not in the new AC wiki. Edit: My bad, it is. The flower floats, and pops up farther away from Faust. I'm not sure if the float occurs only on knockdown from slide, or still causes float on counter.
Zoogstin Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Nobody knows. But I believe it will as long as 2S exists. Other characters can do OTG air combos, why not Faust?
Zinac Posted December 27, 2006 Author Posted December 27, 2006 Until we get Faust vids showing more of his new potential, we just won't know. Where is the love for Faust in Japan?
maxbenoit Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Where is the love for Faust in America for that matter?
Zinac Posted December 27, 2006 Author Posted December 27, 2006 So just saw the flower launch we were discussion. It indeed happens, but the person playing wasn't able to combo off of it. Also saw the scalpel pull FB for the first time.
Zoogstin Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Wow I didn't even know he had a scalpel pull FB. I'm gonna go watch those videos. And yeah max you're right. I don't think Faust is very popular in America. I wonder why?
