Chaoschao222 Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I think it's fine, most of the Chrono threads on the character boards are for changes and discussion, so long as confirmed changes remain updated in Lith's first post, it should be fine for some speculation and discussion here. Wants may be a bit iffy though. Noel board actually got in trouble because we were only discussing Chrono Phantasma stuff in the general thread.

So this thread can be both, just so long as the first post remains infotastic, we should be fine. since that way users don't have to sift through idle chat/speculah to find out what's new with Noel.
LastStarSaviour Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 I'm fine with losing Thor combos (Not really) if we're allowed to AD cancel before we fall to the ground like in CS1. Also, I could see Thor enders after j.2C, looks type sexy the way i'm picturing it.

Would make a lot of sense since if they're going to get rid of the only function the super served.

Also, with emphasis on smaller combos like in CT, I can see some uses with Thor. Most likely we're gonna lose a majority of the staple combos we had in CS. And with if we do get SR invuln., it's gonna be CT crazy again!

It just hit me recently when i had to re-read her changes regarding her 22C and her 3C combo routes that we have to go back to CS1 combo style. If you take in to fact that 22C launches the opponent the same height as its CS1 counterpart it makes sense why the loketests says when she dash 6A > 6C or dash 6C doesnt work anymore because i think they meant her "dash cancel" from her 22C makes it impossible to follow up since its too low and slow for her to connect 6A or 6C. If this is the case then we have to do our 3C combos the same way back in CS1 without the dash cancel included (basically kinda micro dash like the old days). It seems to fit together considering that they wanted to shorten her 22B~C part at the beginning of her combos (to make her combos shorter) and allowing the rest of the combo to slim out good enough overall. So hypothetically, we could do this with a 3C starter: 3C > 22BC > micro dash 6C > IAD > J.C > J.D > d.6B > d.6C > d.5B (wallbounces midscreen) > 236A > 662A > 6C > J.C > J.236C > J.2C > Thor. I did a bit of scaling to see what the damage may look like if all this connected while assuming J.2C does around 100~300 in the combo (i choose 200 since it seems likely to be the number in a combo) and tested the concept out and got around 4.1 ~ 4.4k as a reference to the damage we might see in CP. My wondering was literally nothing more than a questioning of proration.

In OD, D invincibilty is even stronger, making it easier to launch a counter-attack! Plus, 5C connects into 5D, so you can get damage and knockdown from zoning! Are the staff making fun of us?... Just where do you find someone stupid enough to go offensive on an opponent with a time-limited powerup active? I'm honestly happy about being able to get damage off of zoning, but this is pathetic compared to the other characters... It's still in the adjustment phase so I can't say for sure, but as of now it seems like it's better to save the burst than to actively use OD. If it was an OD that you could pressure with like Tager's I would've said go for it,but I think it's debatable just how much the OD improvements to D startup, hitstun, and recovery would improve Noel's pressure. This is pretty meh, I'd rather we got: Frame positive oki after anti-air Blowback from 5C And also a move easy to cross over with, not something like 2D Also hoping that CR proration gets better during OD Noel could also do in EX this under certain conditions, but JA>JBjc>JC first hit>JD>Raid>6C~ works as a combo. If it's just for knocking them away we have Chamber Shot, but we can't oki off that...
SkyKing Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 So if 5C > 5D works, then that's reason enough to be offensive. All you need is that fear of getting tagged by a 5A or 2A into a string that connects to CR from standing instead of Chamber Shot that resets full-screen neutral. Also, since all CR starters are buffed during OD, then that's a chance to land even sneakier frame traps than before, especially if 5D keeps the crazy counter hit stun that it's always had. Idk, from what I see, it's definitely scerams defense at first, but depending on the way it comes out, seeing nasty D-strings during OD is gonna be scary to play against.

Chaoschao222 Posted September 15, 2012 Posted September 15, 2012 Yeah, that's what I got from it, while it promotes Noel going in hard, it also seems to be so "worth it" that it becomes "worthless" because your opponent isn't going to be trying anything particularly risky once you start glowing blue...
Litherain-XIII Posted September 15, 2012 Author Posted September 15, 2012 i think this allows noel to be more offensive in a more beneficial way than she ever could afford back in previous iterations and promotes better mix ups for command throws and tick throws overall or perhaps we can go Quasar activation reversal (Maybe like Blood Kain/FRKZ reversal stlye) and hit a fast reversal drive after blocking and hit them hard to turn things around in a tight pinch. i think this is more plausable as opposed to simple saying hey lets just randomly go OD and run up then do stuff or be in the middle of pressuring them going OD then continuing from there.
