Circuitous Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 The region lock wasn't strictly because Atlus was publishing it. It was done because the US and Japan releases were very close to each other, with completely identical content, and they wanted to discourage Japanese users from importing the (substantially cheaper) US version. If they intend to do a close release schedule between the two regions, they might consider this route. Hopefully they don't, of course, but it's possible. Best case scenario is they don't make both versions identical, so we can get a close release window without region-locking.

Never thought of it that way, makes sense thanks for dropping knowledge bombs.
SoWL Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 If you're referring to the ball, then it's because they're all being just slightly re-sized to give them a more uniform appearance. That's what I figured, since I noticed the difference in sizes back when they've been implemented.
SolarMisae Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 No good ones at least. And if there are any they're all still on Nico.
TD Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 he's turning out to be quite a nice character. very unique gameplay wise.
WillWork4Instal Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 (edited) No good ones at least. And if there are any they're all still on Nico. I'm trying pktazn's and kuresu's now. I doubt there will be much, but PK put up a 2 hour video, along with a few other long ones. He like shaves off maybe a max of like 5 years from himself. Just turns into a slightly smaller version of his current self. Gotta admit I like his outfit in the young version a lot. Maybe if he really was Tenjo's son, that's what he dressed like before he fled away to be hiimself. Maybe he's trying to punish the other Amane by going back to that time. Either that, or he's judging his old fashion sense. EDIT: Nope, nothing. I feel bad for all of the Bang players too. They haven't had representation in a while. And did anyone see Bullet's win pose when she takes off her jacket? Did they really have to add that? EDIT 2x: Bullet versus Amane http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4_9mGOmQSw (at 3:12 ish-Amane says "Not today!" in English. I wonder if that's character specific dialogue) 4:08 is Crush trigger I saw SOWL post this on the Bullet forum. Sorry if I'm stealing SOWL! Kriegdrache Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Actually we probably won't be seeing BBCP in the US (assuming you're in the USA of course) for a good 5 - 6 months yet. Theres still time to pick up EX and still have fun with it. I've picked it up casually again recently and am enjoying myself. Agreed. CP seems like it's too far off to completly drop EX. Also, if you dont wanna play EX, now seems like a good time to pick up GGAC!
WillWork4Instal Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 (edited) Okay a few things. Do we know who's "number 1" and the rankings for Amane right now? Everyone is saying who is top in their character, so I'm curious about ours. I've noticed people using the backstep to punish. I wonder if it's as good as their using it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HngOveCbPk8&t=12m35s Someone translate what they say in their intro please (Or Bullet's winquote afterwards.) And Makoto seems to keep having the same intro with Amane, I wonder if that's a special one. It's a shame everyone cuts it off. Edited December 6, 2012 by WillWork4Instal

Top 3 Amane players are Shadow, Fujii, and Hinane-chan. I posted some recent footage of Hinane-chan in the video thread a few hours ago.
Boodendorf Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Agreed. CP seems like it's too far off to completly drop EX. Also, if you dont wanna play EX, now seems like a good time to pick up GGAC! Well I'm not as interested in GG's universe as Blazblue's one but if I have spare money I'll definitely take it. Welp, gonna get EX then, will also let me try out Relius (even though I'm totally making Amane my main when cp comes out, he's just TOO fabulous of a character) and actually let me do something else than training mode/legion/score attack lol. Also I'm kinda sad we don't see Amane much on videos these days... Btw I really need to see the framedata of his 5/2A and j.A, I'm curious about the startup.
FatalCounter Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 I believe Amane has one of the fastest 5A or 2A in this game. Shadow was using a lot his 5A vs jump attacks and 2A vs pressure. 5A even beat some Hakumen jump attacks which is really good since Hakumen jB and j2C are way powerful. The problem is that both these normals are so short range. Why we don't have at least damage of his normals, specials and supers now? We already know all data about Tsubaki except the frame data.

Doesn't feel like a move would be a good anti-air BECAUSE it has fast startup. Doesn't have a thing to do with that, it's probably got a good vertical hitbox. I wouldn't also assume it's one of the fastest simply because if amane is being rushed down, he has less tools to deal with the pressure, having a fast 5A would actually help in such a situation. That maybe due to the fact that I'm still used to the importance of 3 frame jabs in SSF4AE, feel free to tell me otherwise so I can adjust my mindset regarding such details in anime fighters if I'm completly wrong on this
NumeroGaijin Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Also do not forget to check out a channel named after the game called ChronoPhantasma. He or she made their channel when CP came out in arcades and has all their matches lined up per character so If you don't want to weave through 1000 mins of CP to see certain characters you can get straight to the good stuff with less hassle.
STenSatsu Posted December 6, 2012 Posted December 6, 2012 Btw, sp.bbc.ac is the ranking site. Google translate is good enough to navigate at least.

WillWork4Instal Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 j.D is cancellable Is our Crush Trigger a decent anti-air? I was curious, considering it looks like one. Tager sledges Hariken. It looks like he doesn't have time to sledge on KNOCKDOWN oki though. (I was hoping it didn't, but it makes sense) 360's our 5D. C MOVES CANNOT BE SLEDGED I prayed for this, I really did. DP hit air only, even on big characters Bloom Trigger loses to Seijuu Bursting in corner against Amane is a bad, bad, idea I love this combo. J.D (?) > j.236C At least Shadow made finals! He almost won too! And I love that Noel's winquote involves her screaming in the end. Amane's probably running after her to join his band.
Chris Chaos Posted December 7, 2012 Posted December 7, 2012 Definitely liking what I see, that last match with Noel was pretty tight, I was hoping Amane would win but that Noel was really strong. Good play on both of them.
Aloci Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 So... I love how Shadow was using the 623C as a jump trap lol. Also the Tager match... just. That was as hilarious as I hoped it'd be.
Toasty Posted December 8, 2012 Author Posted December 8, 2012 C MOVES CANNOT BE SLEDGED Words cannot express the joy I am feeling right now. Anyway, this combo is something I'd hope would turn up because it shows that we can get a combo off a ground hit of j.C (which is useful for zoning and therefore really practical). Also the amount of damage that fist does at the end of a combo is delicious. And Shin, I see that avatar and sig change. It didn't have to be this way. D:

That's the first time I've actually seen it comboed into at midscreen like that. And Shin, I see that avatar and sig change. It didn't have to be this way. D: Yeah Shin! Don't be so... Cold-hearted
Errol Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Shin deserves to play S tier after all that time on B tier Jin. I've got your back Shin.
Tokkan Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 (edited) Horrifying/amazing discovery: Amane's attacks are named after Super Sentai series. DerQ Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 I've been thinking about how Amane's super complements his playstyle. You see, you will be pushed back into the corner often because of the character's playstyle and backwards fabhop. His super is the only reversal and puts you behind the opponent making it efficient not only at getting out of the pressure, but also of the corner. I've been wondering though, do you actually go behind your opponent on block too? Because if that would be the case, then even if you miss the super and eat the punish, you'll have to force them into a mid-screen corner carry combo. Might be worth thinking of the super as more than just a reversal but as a viable trade to get out of corner. At least very early on in the game's life span.
Krusiv Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 It looks like your opponent can hit your Hariken drills to destroy them. Potofu tried to destroy 6D as well but he got clipped by the hitbox.
