Teutonicknight Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Which paths? CS1 or 2? I swear they are all different.
Errol Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 not all chars lost jump cancel on 5b. tsubaki still has that. but a lot did lose it. and most characters can't 5b>6a>5b like makoto can.
Teutonicknight Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 I like how that sounds. I like it when the characters have something unique to them other than drives.
HiagoX Posted June 26, 2013 Author Posted June 26, 2013 AV pathways get worse with every game it seems. Is the faster Eclipse turn a bit more useful for crossing up? Because other than making combos look cool, I've never found a good use for that move because 95% of the cast hit backwards, making it feel sort of useless. They're better in CP; Eclipse Turn is still just a gimmicky move as it should be.
Errol Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 i thought I noticed that I couldn't 3c through projectiles. and read some more on jbbs about not being able to go through projectiles with it. I can't remember if we were certain. but at any rate, yeah, you can't 3c through any projectiles anymore.
Yazumatto Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 ...I'm honestly not surprised. That move can join j.2C on the list of moves to never throw out in the neutral. Just give me the game so I can be a low-tier hero for a second year in a row.

I'm gonna miss it.
Errol Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 yeah, 3C is very valuable against Lambda right now, but 3c without projectile invulnerability is, ahhhhhhh well. Pretty close to useless. 3[C]? .... nahhhhhhh It is not so much a nerf on 3c itself as it is that all projectiles have all attributes now. I guess it also works on a lot of stuff it didn't work on before.. Lots of stuff lost foot attribute, notable a lot of DPs. pretty much noone has a move with all 3 attributes anymore. But vs projectiles was about the only time you could use 3c safely, and since the reward is cut on it in CP. The risk-reward was already bad. Anyway...
Teutonicknight Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 As if we weren't bad enough against zoners. Now we're even worse. One more nerf like that, we'll have a harder time dealing with them than Tager does.
Yazumatto Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 I noticed the universal projectile buffs when I saw HBF on Comet Cannon of all things. :x I'm just gonna channel my inner Goro to achieve that 90% winrate against Nu. I'm pretty sure I know the secret in this matchup anyway.

Bibiquadium Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Netplay Lambda is probably the dumbest thing to play against. I thought I'd netplay a bit because I was a mod and all, but hell no.

Bibiquadium Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Netplay bs is netplay bs. It's every Lambda not just Toan so don't get the wrong idea.
Eshi Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 shoutouts to actually going to tournaments I'll see you at evo bibi :3
Bibiquadium Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 Hell yeah! Maybe we'll get to play this time, we keep dodging eachother at tournaments.
Yazumatto Posted July 5, 2013 Posted July 5, 2013 The secret is you're not playing against Toan, and if you were, you'd be crying like a baby. I fear no keepaway for I am one with the keepaway. Keepaway is actually my preferred playstyle. I know the mistakes players tend to make when they have to go in on a character that wants to keep you at a certain distance. This lets me keep my cool when I'm the rushdown playing against the keepaway/zoners. I don't actually get salty at keepaway. Note that this isn't me saying I'm the best or that I'll beat him if we played a set. This is me saying I won't react the way you think I will. And before you say "he doesn't play keepaway with Nu", let me respond with a big, emphatic "I don't care."

Teutonicknight Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 What differences does that make to Comet Cannon? It's a one-direction, mid-hitting projectile, even when placed. :/
Chaoschao222 Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 What differences does that make to Comet Cannon? It's a one-direction, mid-hitting projectile, even when placed. :/ Well it'll hit things it couldn't before... that's a difference...
Teutonicknight Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 But it is mid-hitting, and one directional, idk what new things it could hit given the standard and limited trajectory. What are the most notable examples of it could hit now that it couldn't before?
Chaoschao222 Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Unfortunately my best example isn't even relevant in BBCP, thinking it over. For the sake of example, let's say BBCP Noel 4D was as stupid as it is now. It has head, Body, and Projectile invul, which means anything but Foot will not hit it during its invul frames. In CSE, since Comet Cannon only has Head, Body, and Projectile, it will whiff against 4D's invul. Fast-forward to BBCP and now it also has Foot properties, and it will now beat Noel's 4D. (but Noel's 4D doesn't have Head invul anymore, so it'd lose anyways ) But I'm sure there's at least one other move in this game that was only vulnerable to Foot property
Teutonicknight Posted July 6, 2013 Posted July 6, 2013 Makes sense I guess, lol If it is a universal buff, it's a relatively small one to Makoto. But huge to zoners.

But I'm not sure, does projectile invuln work the same way as other invulns. It feels like they changed projectiles to make it so that nothing can invuln through projectiles except things that specifically are immune to projectiles. Which suggests to me that they would have made it so a projectile invuln move is invuln to projectiles. Otherwise the projectile invuln property would have no meaning unless it also had HBF invulnerability. Which would make it completely invulnerable. Therefore Noel's 4d will still beat comet cannon.
