LunaKage Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 I personally don't think it is, since it requires dashing in after a blocked 5B, which isn't normally very smart. However, if you know soneone is just litterally mashing ID through your blockstring, it could be useful.
Alpha152 Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 Even then it's very finicky. I was messing around with it and if they IB 5B or the timing of your dash or their DP is delayed, you'll get hit. If you want to bait a DP 4D would probably be better (in CP).

Appledash- Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I have also noticed a lack of MF in combos where it seems appropriate. like 5B > 5C > OD > 5C > 5D every jp player uses spring raid at this point, but I would think going into d.5C > d.6C > MF would net better results. Saw Kouya do some CH > MF stuff in some matches with Goro. I lost my shit cause it did like 5.7k meterless, midscreen. Fun matches to watch btw. EDIT:But you were talking about overdrive combos... w/e, it has MF in it or something.

I'm a beginner-amateur ranged based on experience with Noel (main). I have been waiting eagerly for CP release but I'm a bit concerned with some changes on the combos. I have seen that with the new modifications to Noel the 3C > 22B...C > dash cancel > 6C combos have been removed. I just wanted to see if someone could confirm this for me and redirect me into what type of chain combos will be using from now on. Will Noel play differently or with the same combo dynamic cores stay the same? ( Apologies if its rude, but there's tons on pages and search function even brings more.) I would be very disappointed if that was the case that all 3C > 22B combos have been eliminated since it took me so much effort to learn them and it would all go to waste. Thanks in advance as well for having me.
Litherain-XIII Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 (edited) well technically the 3C > 22B ...C > dash cancel >6C is still somewhat possible but its not really something you wanna do in CP since it appears you nerf the combo damage trying to do that or its simply too unstable on execution to do it too consistently since she is barely able to get a few 22B bullets in into a 22C to eventually dash cancel to connect a 6C. the problem here is that they nerfed the launch height that 22C use to have in extend and they also nerfed her dash cancel to be her counter assault animation from EX whish is slower than her usual running dash cancel which makes it barely possible to hit multiple 22Bs in after a 3C and still hit a 6C in time its too slow and by then the opponent hits the ground and techs before 6C could hit them. and distance is also a concern regarding the route as the combo will drop if you tried it almost anywhere. in all its probably not avised to do it but we'll see when we get the game this week. her new combo pathway is more like 3C > 22C > dash cancel > 5B > 5C > j.C > j.D >...etc. Or usually ends up having her go into 6A from a hitconfirm to go into j.C > j.D >...etc. Noel overall plays the same as far as playstyle her combos are a bit different but otherwise everything else is the same but using drives for mix up is now more viable than ususal and she can combo off virtually any hit confirms now unlike her previous iterations in bb Edited October 21, 2013 by Litherain-XIII

Also I'm quiet sad that we totally lost the way to chain optic barrel in the combo as well. But maybe there's a way to chain that new skill (236C) in there somehow. @Litherain, Oh so you are importing? @LunaKage, No sure what you mean by that, I started with Extend. Fill me with the detail please.

But, the optimal damage route is: 3C>22C>66>5B>5C>superjumpcancel>jC>jD>.... 236C can be rapid cancelled into some good damage combos. No need to chain optic barrel any more.... the new combos are already really long. The combo vids in the first page of the vids thread are a good watch.

Yes im importing im also attempting to get the digital copy just to have an early start from a friends account. as for the details to CS1 reference Lunakage made, its basically already covered in my explination. basically 3C > 22C > dash cancel > 6C was the CS1 Combo route

If it's info that can't be contained in any existing thread then put it in the gameplay thread. So if it's combo related stuff, that can go in the combo thread (high altitude Airgrab > j.D?) Or if it's matchup specific stuff, it goes in one of the matchup threads (Maybe Lith's Ragna DP killer still works?) but pretty much anything else can go in the gameplay discussion thread.
