Looks like I'm there for HQ tomorrow but not Friday. Everybody come body me as I play my first KOF game against a live opponent. That and the usual Dustloop-games gold.

So I heard from pochp that someone (Madscientist?) made a new caster for MB. Is it as good as mauve's mbcaster back in MBAC days? If so I might pick it up again.

It's okay Will, all you have to do is pick Elizabeth and press all the buttons simultaneously to apply zoning/frame traps/setups. Adam doesn't even have the game but he's the best Elizabeth player in Ottawa for a reason

I'd do more offline practice but I'm saving what little money I have to try and afford a trip to MTL for UMAD in June, so I'm mostly in a zone where I'm doing online play with a group and all that.

I was thinking of going to UMAD as well, but I'm not sure if I should take the car or bus my way there.

It would have been really convenient/awesome if MTLSF: MAT X and UMAD co-hosted a 2 day tourney together, but I think it's too late for that.

Anyone else thinking of/planning to attend UMAD?

Are there still people from Montreal who're willing to let out of towners crash for a day?

If there are MTLers who would be willing to that would be AWESOME and make it a lot more affordable. For what it's worth though, I remember somebody talking about getting a van of people together to go down and charging them based on gas or something. Not sure if that's still a go. Either way though, I'd suggest to anybody that's even considering going and can, to go. MAD1 was awesome, and UMAD looks even better.

Oh, Tek, have I got combos... but yeah, I know nothing about P4A matchups and haven't had the time to really get used to the system mechanics yet because no one's been repping the game at HQ since I picked it back up. Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat as LWX too: I live a $20 drive out of town and have got to be conservative with my cash if I want to keep from having to sell my car. I'm still committed to making it into Ottawa to stay serious with at least one game these days, but, you know... Guilty Gear. xD

Things should get a bit better once my surgical wounds close and I can jump into some quick and easy side job to fund more trips into town. (And, of course, in the long term, I'm hunting for something stable that'll let me move into the city limits and travel to other cities' tournaments.) However, right now I'm living off the proverbial money under my mattress, so I've gotta pick and choose.

It's mostly us Guilty Gear players that play Persona anyway so you should come to HQ with us and barter a bit of Guilty Gear time for a bit of Persona time. You know that we always want more Guilty Gear players. Consider coming out this Thursday!

Yeah.. I couldn't come to HQ ever since the first time I showed up because of conflicting work schedule, but I'm pretty sure I can go this week.

I also have to pick my time since I kind of live far away (Gatineau), so I don't think I can show up both on Thursdays AND Fridays. I'll try to confirm with you guys every week to see which day is the best.

Ah yeah, Gatineau's a bit away. I mean, if I had a job and money, I wouldn't be technically far from HQ even though I live in K-Ville (not Kanata) which is 40-45 minutes south of Ottawa. Does anybody remember who the van person was?

Hey all, I have just moved back from Waterloo to Ottawa for the summer and want to try and get into casuals with you guys. I spoke to LiveWire awhile back about casuals(not sure if he remembers me), before finding out he lives kinda far. Anyway, I guess I should PM here and figure out the time(Thursday/Friday nights?) and place for any games this summer.

I'm a BB player, but since Waterloo doesn't care about BB minus one or two of us I mostly have picked up other games recently. On that note, does anyone around here play Melty Blood? I'm kinda interested in getting a community started for that game, so I thought I would ask here.

I only used to play MB until I switched to other "relevant" games like AE.

It's a shame that TYPE-MOON doesn't care about the foreign market, we'll probably never see an official release outside of Japan.

That aside, I think there around 5 to 10 people who plays MELTY BLOOD in Ottawa including me. I'm still up for some games if you want to see some of my cool MBAC combos.

Oh and speaking of BlazBlue, I really want to get into it but I can't decide if I should wait for the next update or just start playing now. What do you guys think? (please hold my hand).

@Lan5X, yeah I remember some of the discussions we had on the possibility of casuals, and I don't live far enough away to like never go. Just, not every week. Of course, failing that, I'm like always on PSN, so hey.

@Verbal, it never hurts to get into it now. I mean hell, we were sadly 1 person short from getting BB at CKO, which was so depressing since I practiced for weeks to not get stomped in it by MTL, only to get stomped by them in P4A.

@XDest, having you down in the area even for a little bit would be awesome. The more the merrier, etc etc.

I know that Dev (Rigel) and Masa sometimes play MB, they might be at HQ today around 5~11pm. I don't know about others since I only went to HQ once so far.
