Xie Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 (edited) Greetings folks. We managed the survive the apocalypse, but rebuilding what was lost will take a great amount of sweat and toil, preferably followed by showering and deodorant. So come out and practice up for the long haul! Also, we're going to try running Gundam vs Gundam EXVS this season. This requires a lot of cooperation and providing of setups from everyone, so if you promised to do a particular part, I expect you to carry it out, or else infinite sadness will occur. Location Super Arcade 1211 North Grand Avenue Walnut, CA 91789 Stream URL http://twitch.tv/CounterAssaultTV Time Select Saturdays 2PM-12AM PlayStation Battle Royale Event Starts At 3PM BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend Event Starts At 4PM Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus Event Starts At 5PM Persona 4 Arena Event Starts At 6PM Gundam vs Gundam Extreme VS 7PM System BlazBlue: PS3 Persona 4 Arena: PS3 Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus: PS3 Gundam vs Gundam EXVS: FOUR PS3s PlayStation Battle Royale: PS3 Current Schedule A.1 - 01/26/13 - Rite of Succession A.2 - 02/09/13 - Return to America A.3 - 02/23/13 - It's a... PSBR Rules: (Subject to Change) 1v1; Best 2 out of 3 Stock Limit 3 Double Elimination Items and Hazards Off (This is something that is likely to change due to feedback and my own personal experiences.) Stage Striking is to be used for picking of stages for the first round. Loser gets to pick a counter pick stage. On counter pick, the only banned stages are Franzea, Dreamscape, Invasion, and both Large Practice Stages at the moment. The same stage cannot be picked twice in the same set. No glitches that require the PS3 to be reset are allowed. Winner cannot change characters. Loser however can do so. Stalling the game indefinitely will lead to a forfeiture by the perpetrator. (This rule is mainly to save time moreso than anything. If deemed unnecessary by a good portion of folks, I'll remove it.) 2v2; Best 2 out of 3 Kill Limit 5 Double Elimination Items and Hazards On (Read above. Considering how the 2v2 meta has been shaping however, I feel that items should remain on with a few exceptions. Will of course review this as time goes on.) Stage Striking is to be used for picking of stages for the first round. Losing team gets to counter pick a stage of their choice. No stage can be picked twice in a set. No glitches that require the PS3 to be reset are allowed. To add to this, use of Nariko's infinite level 3 glitch (Where she can hold block down indefinitely, preventing any other characters from using supers while also making her untargetable) is explicitly banned, and will result in forfeiture of the round. Winning team cannot change characters, losing team however can do so. Edited March 18, 2013 by Kurushii
SuperFX Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I'm down for Saturdays, as that's easiest for me, but Sunday might work sometimes too. Also, I think bi-weekly hookups with maybe a monthly tournament might be the best idea? But that's just my opinion.
Goldenrody Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I like the way we've been always doing things, biweekly Saturdays
shtkn Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 as a san diegan, i prefer saturday so i don't feel pressured to leave the events earlier when they run late into the night.
glod Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Biweekly saturday works best for me as well, I like being able to stay late since I never have stuff to do on sundays
Guymam Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Saturday, and I think once a month we have a special event tournament to be uploaded to nico for the Japanese to laugh at us. :3
Shazam Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 Saturday, and I think once a month we have a special event tournament to be uploaded to nico for the Japanese to laugh at us. :3 Not gunna lie, this is sounding pretty kawaii
Requiem789 Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 I'm going to agree with bi-weekly Saturdays as well - Just easier overall to get there and not have to worry about things the next day I need to do. Even Thursdays are too difficult for me now, too... I also agree with Guymam about uploading videos to nicovideo. :D
diospyros Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 I prefer bi-weekly Saturdays, but try a few Sundays and see what happens. We may get new people that can't make Saturdays.
Xie Posted January 7, 2013 Author Posted January 7, 2013 Alright, well since every single post in this thread is Saturday, we're doing it Saturday. Updating first post soon.
Raptor Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 (edited) 01-26-13.......Wahahahaha......that im pretty sure I cant show up Edited January 8, 2013 by Raptor
Sanoshi Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 i can't make that specific date either hahaha. Oh well!
SuperFX Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 A few some odd days ago-ish, the stream monsters predicted the anime world would end on January, 8th 2013, which is a terrible idea since we haven't even figured out how to be good at these games yet. Someone had to defend our community and prevent this from happening. And that defender had to be me, James Xie. For eight and a half weeks I will courageously battle to save our scene and, with your help, carve additional time into everyone's recent memory to buy us more time in fighting game relevancy. That's why this tournament series is called is called: First gathering/tournament will be on January 26th (week after SCR). I am also going to take some time to teach people how to stream/make overlays/run tournaments/organize shit each week, so if you are interested in learning, please come down and join my "seminars." James, you're a colossal retard. That said, I'll be there
Shingin Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 I've talked with James about this but its possible we might do exvs tournament the same day. Super Arcade's internet got upgraded a while back ago and I have switches and cables to get this set up. We'll need 3 copies of the game to get this done.
Xie Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 I think we're going to end up short, since AcidAce and like half the BB/P4 scene are heading to Japan for that week. We should probably aim to start EXVS on 2/9 if we can't get enough setups for this week.
Raptor Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Youll miss your chance for a Noel-free tournament.
