However, it does confirm what I already suspected, which is how little we know about Leopaldon. Too bad, really. I was hoping he would get ported over to the main series and elaborated on like ABA in Accent Core Plus. There aren't enough Gear characters.

I'm of the opinion that Millia killed Zato. I believe that's how it happens in Guilty Gear X Plus, at least. Millia and Zato/Eddie are slugging it out in one of her endings, with Eddie having almost completely overwhelmed Zato for ownership of the body. However, Zato emerges long enough to paralyze Eddie and Millia capitalizes on it to deal him a mortal blow.

So the story goes that their relationship was that of Zato-1 being obsessive/abusive and possessive of her, and although her feelings for him were that of love, this didn't last long. After the God-Soldier series events (Night of Knives), her desire to live outweighed any orders from the Guild...therefore the next mission she was given by them which just so happened to be a mission in which Zato-1 himself was involved, she sold him and his subordinates on that mission out to the IPF (International Police Force). Zato-1 was imprisoned and his Kinjuu sealed to dormancy. It wasn't until the events prior to the 2nd Sacred Order of Holy Knights Recruitment Tournament (Guilty Gear: The Missing Link) that Testament set Zato-1 free, informing him that the spillage of blood was allowed for this tournament (for the purposes of breaking Justice's blood seal). It was during that tournament that PostWar Administration Bureau managed to keep an eye on Zato-1's movements but were unable to capture him, though they did manage to obtain Ky Kiske's initial combat data for their RK series. ZATO-1: Aita katta zo!! [i was hoping to see you!!] MILLIA: Watashimo yo! [Myself as well!] Zato-1 managed to finally meet with Millia, but the meeting was short-lived as not only did she manage to defeat him, she fled him, declaring full independence from the Guild. Though he wasn't seriously wounded and managed to even fight the likes of Justice at one point, his power-drunkenness awoke the Kinjuu that had been incubating inside of him. The birth cries of the Kinjuu (Forbidden Beast) itself were what ultimately killed him as it took over every aspect and function of his body, his mind and body could not take the stress. The Kinjuu realizes it has killed its host and names itself Eddie. Realizing it can no longer survive without a host (and also realizing it's given lifespan limitations programmed internally into it along with the predisposition to hunt gears as its natural nemesis), it sets out to find a new host. Dr. Faust has been monitoring him for some time as well. It was shortly thereafter that Venom sets out to find Zato-1 or what remains of him, and during the Gear bounty events (Guilty Gear X: By Your Side G.Gear) he ultimately confirms Zato-1's "death". EDDIE: Shi yori fukai yami yo... [A darkness deeper than death...] VENOM : ...Zato-sama...Nn?--Kisama!? Nani mono da!? Bakenokawa o hai de yaru!! [...Master Zato...Nn?--You!? What are you!? I'll tear off your disguise!!] This is also where Millia makes an attempt to sever all ties to Zato-1, including Eddie himself. MILLIA: Nani!? [What!?] ZATO-1: Tasket--hggk! [Help me--hggk!] MILLIA: Ii kase tageru. [i'll release you.] ZATO-1: Nh..hmmheeheheheh... It's currently unclear the whereabouts of Eddie or if it died or evolved past the need for a Host or was captured and put in a test tube for study either by the PWAB or That Man...either way we don't know. For a time Venom pursued it in attempt to recover the body at least but that has failed and so he himself tasks himself with the destruction of the Kinjuu (and perhaps Millia's Kinjuu should it come to it). It seems that Venom has been given reign over the Guild with Slayer's blessing, though Venom holds an equally strong grudge against Millia, it's not certain if he will actually pursue her. Slayer has given Millia fair warning that her Kinjuu "Angra" is on the brink of "being born" and what this will do to her body, but we can't say for sure what will happen or has happened during or prior to GG2: Overture events, only that it's possible PWAB is pursuing her, most likely to recover the Kinjuu they implanted in her body (like Zato-1 was given initially).
Skitz Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Hey everyone, here's my first post I'm planning on putting up a topic listing the entire Guilty Gear time line based on continuous research. Thus far I seem to have everything down pat except for the placement of the Night of Knives. Since information on that appears to be scarce - aside from Blade's contribution in the previous posts - I'm confused as to whether the Night of Knives is centered around Zato-1/Millia/Venom or centered around what I call the "Chaotic Time Line" (there already a name for it?) where Ky Kiske died during the Holy War/Crusades, Sol took over the Holy Order, Justice Died, Dizzy took over, etc. that resulted in I-no going back in time and saving Ky Kiske and creating the present Guilty Gear time line? I'm leaning more towards the Night of Knives being a Zato-1/Millia centered story before GG:ML but I would like confirmation. Also, if my assumption is correct, then where does the story of I-no going back in time to save Ky Kiske take place in? Would anyone be able to clear this up for me? Despite all my work, I'm left like this at the moment when it comes to figuring out those two parts. Main: :KY: Secondary: (...I play too much...)
Blade Posted July 11, 2009 Posted July 11, 2009 Night of Knives takes place inbetween the interval of time when Justice was sealed after the Crusades and the 2nd recruitment tournament. So somewhere between 2175-2180. 2180 is the year GG takes place. It has nothing to do with the alternate timeline.

And Bicycle is my last GG fic until its next installment. If BlazBlue will replace GG, then I will be seen no more. Shinpai, I bet there will new GG, but it will take a long time for them to make it since it is SUPPOSED to be rendered in High-Definition. It took roughly years for them to make BlazBlue with just 12 Characters, if Guilty Gear has 25(Or maybe they could add new characters.) Characters, it'll be hard. But, I see no reason for them to stop making a new Guilty Gear, I too hope they continue the Guilty Gear storyline, it left too many mysteries unsolved. It's just not right to leave something you started way back, and then left it unfinished all of a sudden.

Although the two may not realize it, Ky and Sin have MANY things in common and Dizzy and Sol (Grandpa lol!!) point them out. The story opens up with Ky forgetting his birthday and a flashback shows that he forgets his birthday even while he was a teenager. It's making me sad cause Sin is so cold in this fic TT~TT anyways, the story is "Like Father, Like Son" and it should come out this week ^^ It's dedicated to everyone I've met on Dustloop: Dancel-chan, Neo-kun, Blade-san, Zazz-kun, Raging Tofu -san, Hecatom-san, SunnyDay-san, Ashercroix-san, and more ^^ P.S. Apparent age rankings please, even if just based on appearance. Izuna is the oldest, then Raven and finally Slayer, I believe is how it goes. Their actual ages (if known) eludes me at the moment and I'm too tired to go look 'em up, but even then I'm pretty sure it'll just be a general "such-and-such character is XYZ+ years old" ....kind of like Sol's age.

Raging Tofu Posted July 15, 2009 Posted July 15, 2009 Suzaku announced quite some time ago the order in which he would be translating the stories. Sol's, Sin's and Ky's were at the end of the list, if I'm not mistaken. So, no they have not been translated yet, but they will be. Of course, there maybe someone else working on translations of the stories too, though I haven't heard/seen/found anything. Aside from Suzaku, everyone else I know that would be capable of translating is currently too busy with various life happenings to do it.
Zazz Posted July 16, 2009 Posted July 16, 2009 didn't know where to post this but i figured this is the best spot since its not gameplay related at all but i took a look at the GG2 billboard in BB Orient Town and here's what i saw (do lots of Tager bustin' and pause and it isn't hard to catch) its contents consist of simple static images but there are a bunch in the cycle - Sin with Illyria stage in the background - Sol with Organ screen in the background - Valentine with Trioria stage in the background - Izuna with Ganymede stage in the background - Dr. Paradigm with the Illyria soldiers cutscene who Ky calls before the "Big Battle" stage - Arc System Works logo - GG2 Japanese box cover art - GG2 Logo Art sorry friends, but no Ky in there.
