The creator(forgot his name), said that it was someone very unlikely, which would make me believe it to be someone already shown to us.

In GG, recall that magic is actually an effect produced by interacting with the Backyard, a world which you could compare to the background processes that keep your computer running that you don't actually see. In a way, using magic is like hacking into the Backyard and tampering with the programming of reality. Now, Ki seems to be a more neutral "element", something with a more spiritual root, probably relating directly to the latent "magic" within living organisms, or something along those lines. The common fictional depiction of Ki/Chi as an energy that flows through the body that can be channeled (for example, shooting blasts of energy from your palms) is derived from Chinese breathing exercises, and has a medatative aspect, as in Tai Chi. In the Guilty Gear memorial book, it specifically describes the Japanese people of having a natural ability to control Ki, as a result of their "strong spiritual core". The implication seems to be that, rather than being some sort of a genetic trait, it's because of their specific spiritual beliefs or spiritual history that they have an inate predisposition for controlling Ki. In other words, they have natural access to a magic "weapon". This is why Justice made Japan her first target. She feared that, if the Japanese people as a whole were able to awaken to this understanding and weild this natural magical weapon, that they would pose a considerable threat. From a practical standpoint, any Japanese character in GG should be a "natural" at controlling Ki. This is why May being Japanese is supposed to be an important plot point. That's certainly not to say that only Japanese people can use it, of course. Chipp, Kliff, Jam, etc., are able to use this, and their abilities probably stem from training in Asian martial arts which emphasize breathing and Ki flow.

Asians already have a natural disposition towards the magic of Chi, and more training brings that to the surface. Now the question is why Jam's trained to use Chi so effectively. The best guess I can hazard is that many surviving Asians after the Crusades started to learn Chi in order to better protect themselves should it ever happen again. If that's the case, Jam could just be more of a prodigy than other people, with her strength and control being at a high level for her young age.

Shinto and Buddhism as well as Zen are old foundations in China that the Japanese adopted for themselves historically. Usually cultures exchange belief systems and martial techniques as a aftermath to war (i.e. Imperialism). It's how Christianity spread. China has a war history with Japan so the culture exchange would be expected.

Since an old interview with Ishiwatari mentions that I-No is still lurking around, that must mean Baiken never got to kill her. Which would mean that Anji's travelling with her. Which would mean that he's not travelling with May. Which would mean that Johnny and May are still part of the Jellyfish. Regarding Ky and Dizzy, assuming that the memorial book and the heart is true, it's obvious he was helping her learn about her past (and probably more.), which means that Ky and Sol settled their differences. Which means Sol managed to survive his past self disappearing. As for the rest of the characters, let's work on what happened to the rest of the chain first.

I'd hope Ky and Sol settled there differences, Ky entrusted his own son to Sol. As far as other characters go, safe to assume Eddie and Millia are dead by Overture, with Millia suffering a similar fate as Eddie. Venom is a bit of a wild card imo.
