Errol Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 6b is not easy to block and you also got 6b1(rc)>2b BS.
Airk Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Saying "You can just mash 5A out of <blah>" is ANOTHER one of those things that is basically true of EVERY character in the game. x.x You can mash 5A and beat Litchi's overheads too, but that doesn't make them "bad". The shortsightedness in this thread hurts my brain. Everyone in BB needs to establish a certain level of respect before they can do mixup. That's just how the game works. Fortunately, it's also easy for every character in the game to punish people who blatantly disrespect them - certainly, Noel has an easy time doing this. Also, people need to differentiate between "mixup" and "pressure"; Mu's lasers and stuff are useless as "mixup" because they all hit mid. Technically, I guess you could try to cross someone up while they were being hit by this stuff, but that's a pretty fringe case. What Mu's lasers and stuff are excellent for is -pressure- - i.e. keeping the opponent from being able to do things like mash or jump out. The two concepts are complementary, but are not the same. Pressure is the ability to make someone block. Mixup is how easy it is to hit them once they are blocking.
hipikachu Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 (edited) Right, but it sucks when you use a pressure oriented rushdown character, take a stagger preesure character, compare their pressure tools, and then conclude that the former character somehow has worse mixup. edit: we do seem to be derailing this topic Yeah, sorry about the half-baked post. The bell rang and I had to rush to finish my post before heading to my next class. Now that I'm home, what I meant to say was that: Most of the points you made in your previous post were pointing towards her drives (which shouldn't be abused raw in the first place), specifically mentioning: Noel's normals are better on block than Mu's and can more easily continue her pressure. Noel's stagger pressure give her more opportunities to throw someone compared to the normals of Mu. At close range during her pressure string she can possibly cross you over with 2d Kinda irked me considering these are all situations where she hits mid, and can't be used towards the mixup argument. On the other hand, I do apologise for bringing in the mixup/reward argument where it didn't make any sense: Number of lows and usage of lows are two different things, Valky's single 6C makes Haz's two overheads look like nothing. Boohoo. You didn't block d.6B and ate 1.8k D: I didn't sound very convincing either. I'll remember to avoid brainless posts in the future. Edited April 12, 2013 by hipikachu

I guess it's more of an oki thing though. But you can do a lot of stuff.
Ctrlaltwtf Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 I think (I hope) the OP's original question was answered long ago. In summary, play Hazama because he has a hat. Judging by the recent posts I think we've meandered into character specific discussion.
