If this isn't the right place for this, I'm sorry Chao ToT

I'm just curious about what effects (positive, negative, or neutral

lol

) that playing fighting games has had on your lives.

The reason I ask this is because I realized something the other day. I've always had terrible memory and have not been able to remember things like people's phone numbers, directions, lists, etc...ever. After playing BB for about a year now, however, this has completely changed. I am now able to remember surprisingly long sequences of letters, numbers or words, and I think that it is because of having to memorize combos to play BB. (Either that or I'm just becoming a superhuman).

I'm just wondering if you guys have observed anything like this with yourselves and fightan gaemz. I wanna hear all of your thoughts on this, even if they are random. ...Umm like I even noticed that I've started using the word neutral a lot more since I started playing...(see there that's random)

It's brought me a bunch of great friends I wouldn't trade for the world from a lot of areas in the states, make me enjoy traveling a lot more than I used, made me mature to some extent, make me start planning for things, and showed me that alcohol bodies niggas for free.

Guilty Gear gave me hope that Blockbuster can have good games, helped me through college, and a handful of good African-American friends...except Doren.

BB got me into fighting games and helped me understand ALOT about them.

It also saved me from that shitty game called Brawl.

BB was the first true game I was able to get into competitively and play seriously. I joked around with it on CT and only mashed ice car for fun but as CS and CS2 came out, I started trying to be a lot better for some reason. That led me to browsing for information and finding forums. So BB also led to me meeting a lot of friends as well lol.

BB got me into seriously playing fighting games instead of just mashing buttons and hoping for the best. It also gave me a taste of competitive gaming. P4U on the other hand made me feel as if I was apart of something pretty good (shout outs to the Liz forums!!!). I also met a ton of cool people, as well as some really shitty people due to me going out to tournaments.

Whether this was a positive or negative experience overall, I'm not too sure. Competitive environments can bring out the best and the worst in people.

It has taught me nothing.

I met almost all of my friends through fighting games. Like Axis, fighting games replaced Maplestory for me. Fighting games also made me discover what waifus were, and accidentally ended up with one because of them. They've also ruined my grades.

They gave me stress, anxiety, and over all hate in my life

But in all seriousness it helped me meet a lot of amazing people. Understanding fighters also helped me to look at many things within my life in depth. Also helped to have an overall understanding of a lot of things as well. Its a love hate relationship really. But I don't regret getting into them and meeting the people I know now.

I've met some of my some of my best friends, strongest rivals, knowledgeable teachers, and someone who inspires me.

Also, after falling out if FPS/3PS...FGs gave me a place for my competitve spirit to call home.

It's been an experence to say the least. ww
