mAc Chaos Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I think part of Ragna was always like that. Nu mentions him smiling about it in CT too. Plus, think about what he went through. Any normal person would be bitter and angry at the world, and he is going around destroying military bases and killing tons of people. He is already fighting the world.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 Yea, even Hazama was surprised by how he just accepted it. I hope they elaborate on that in CP because it makes Ragna eerily similar to Hazama, with both of them hating the world and how it works.
mAc Chaos Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I think there is something about hating the world necessary to using the Azure or the Black Beast's power in general. Everyone who uses it hates the world. Noel too.

I was glad to see that the anime made it more obvious though; CS hardly touched upon it.

I think the only thing he accepts in CS is that he's a fake, he won't let that get him down though. But he does have that never give up attitude even in Calamity Trigger. So kind of weird he gave up in the anime lol.
mAc Chaos Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 The game never draws that part out. It's just get stabbed ~> fall into Cauldron. So it is possible during those parts he felt like giving in and it just wasn't shown. For all we know it happens every time since the Black Beast was made from that hatred.

Everyone who uses it hates the world. Noel too. Oh my god you're right. But Noel kind of let go of her hatred after Ragna rescued her and when she resolved to save Tsubaki; she is able to use her Murakumo powers now without going all omnicidal on everything. I think Ragna let go of his hatred somewhat in CS. I was glad to see that the anime made it more obvious though; CS hardly touched upon it. I don't really think he let go of it, but rather directed it at something else(I.e. Hazama) but yea, interacting with Noel really helped him mellow out somewhat; Guess seeing someone you care about go down the path you almost went is a bit of an eye opener.

So it is possible during those parts he felt like giving in and it just wasn't shown. For all we know it happens every time since the Black Beast was made from that hatred. Closest thing is what happens in his CT bad ending, where if you lose to the shadowy Ragna, Ragna goes crazy and say he's going to destroy everything. I think the only thing he accepts in CS is that he's a fake, he won't let that get him down though. But he does have that never give up attitude even in Calamity Trigger. So kind of weird he gave up in the anime lol. Well, he accepts that he's an artificial human, but human despite everything. What I mean is that he recognizes that Nu and Noel are human as well (before he insists that Nu is a thing). To say that they were inhuman would be the same as saying as he was inhuman, and Ragna realizes that's not true. He didn't let go of all his hatred, far from it, but I think that recognizing Terumi as the source of his ills and his experiences with Noel have eased him somewhat.
Errol Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Ok I'm playing the Ragna story in Extend. He wakes up 10 days after losing his arm and Jubei is telling him yo that's the azure grimoire on your arm, you stuck it in don't you remember? And then Jubei is like, I saved you bro. And Rachel shows up and is like, yea, you couldn't have saved him had you not that power and all. So yeah Whatever.

I thought Ragna just passed out and woke up days later to find Rachel there. Well you know what, maybe he meant he saved him by sheltering him or something. i keep thinking he fought Hazama haha.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 Ok, here's my interpretation of the events: Terumi posses Jin and cuts off Ragna's arm, makes off with Saya and leaves him to die. Ragna is bleeding out and Rachel appears and takes him to where the remains of the Black Beast are. Ragna, probably out of survival instinct, grafts the remains where his arm was, thus becoming the Azure. He passes out due to stress. Jubei takes Ragna in and he rests for 10 days. Etc. etc.
harmless kitten Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I actually think that "that power" is referring to Jubei's Sekigan. Either Jubei used it to save Ragna before he took them to the church, or she's just referring to how Jubei used it to switch places with Terumi.
Zazz Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 That episode title list makes it seem like Mu is the last boss. So, of course, her already silly outfit will probably seem even more ridiculous when portrayed in a dramatic situation. It means Rachel got off but Ragna didn't. The very foundation of their whole relationship. This really sums up BB: Ragna NEVER catches a break. And all his best friends are cats. Nu doing Cammy's Cannon Drill made me bust out laughing. Well Cammy is top tier in AE, just like Nu is in CT. It all makes sense!
kosmos badgirl Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Excellent episode, not gonna bother with the animation complains, the show is done with low budget and it is what it is, take it or leave it. Now that they are done with CT, can't wait to the introduction of new characters, specially Tsubaki. Please change the opening, such a lazy piece.

mAc Chaos Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 (edited) Ok, here's my interpretation of the events: Terumi posses Jin and cuts off Ragna's arm, makes off with Saya and leaves him to die. The problem is, don't we see Terumi standing there in person alongside Jin in CT Reconstruction? I distinctly remember a CG (because I thought it was dumb) of him standing there next to Jin in the flames, spiky hair and all. Also if we're counting the anime as canon-ish that just has Jin there by himself. :3333 Edited October 16, 2013 by mAc Chaos
Elochai Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Little did you know the Terumi that's present in the CG isn't actually there. The CG was just done that way to show his influence over Jin's actions. Also, let's not forget that CTR had adolescent Ragna with white hair.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 We all know Terumi was there during the whole thing, Ragna even remembers feeling his presence. I guess its probably up in the air if he was possessing Jin or not, but Jin does have his smile in that CG.

I kind of miss the whole "I am Hakumen! The end has come!" Though I don't know if that's because of mis-translation on Funimation's part.

NeoStrayCat Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Don't forget "Grimalkin" to "Cursed Goblin Cat"...>_>
mAc Chaos Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 That is more of a translation style. Some people translate things as literally as possible. Other translators try to capture the feel of what's being said, which is what that END HAS COME goes for.

I think literal translations are bad, though I also don't think that really captures what is said I also don't think it is bad. On the other hand, the whole 'advancing on your position' thing is bad.
