SoWL Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 Y'know...if they dub it (and they will since Funi only ever had one home video release without a dub...and it was a test) I kind of hope they'll pull a Ghost Stories... By Ghost Stories, do you mean Bakemonogatari? I haven't heard its dub, but the source material kinda requires you to think outside the box with localization.
Tokkan Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 By Ghost Stories, do you mean Bakemonogatari? Bakemonogatari does not have a dub and its license is held by Aniplex of America, not FUNimation.
LeDom Posted August 13, 2014 Posted August 13, 2014 The Monogatari would be next to impossible to dub. Not 100% impossible but I don't think Aniplex would ever want to take that challenge. Ghost stories is a completely different show, basically what happened is that the show flopped in Japan so the IP owner gave ADV films the liberty to do whatever they wanted with it to make it sell, so they turned it into a literal joke. Also, I was more or less joking was I said I was hoping for AM to take that same road.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted April 24, 2015 Author Posted April 24, 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sN0fvLvBCMM The fact they didn't even give Hakumen a filter on his voice automatically makes this a shit dub, 0/10 will not buy :V
Vulcan422 Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Who cares? He has the real White Void speech now.
VermilionBird Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 >Not available in your country. That's okay, I didn't want to lose my faith in humanity a second time around.
swordsman09 Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 Who cares? He has the real White Void speech now.I don't know. Lack of his voice filtering is a big issue. It sounds 10x less cool hearing Jin saying it rather than Hakumen.

kosmos badgirl Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 here we go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Ikn7JBnHK0
FinalDoomGuy Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 The trailer looks like it was done on someone's lunch break while they were fiddling about with Windows Movie Maker. So on par with the original animation, really.
VermilionBird Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Not going to be able to show my friends this trailer after: "LOOK AT ME WOMAN! TAKE IT ALL IN!"
Blade Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Look on the bright side, at least the dub is better than Guilty Gear Zex.
VermilionBird Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 At least you had classics like "OH NO, I'M FALLING!"
mAc Chaos Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 well at least we can hear more of their dub worki like the english VAs
beanwich Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Oh, man, they actually attempted to dub this and then make a terrible trailer for it? Please no.
SoWL Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Oh, man, they actually attempted to dub this and then make a terrible trailer for it? Please no.Yeah, who would ever attempt to dub an anime adaptation of a game well-known for its dub?
beanwich Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Yeah, who would ever attempt to dub an anime adaptation of a game well-known for its dub? I wasn't expecting there would ever be a dub because it was taking so long.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 I wasn't expecting there would ever be a dub because it was taking so long. Well considering Funi had to get all of the VA's, most of which don't work for them or stationed in Texas.
Tokkan Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I wasn't expecting there would ever be a dub because it was taking so long. It's Funimation, there's pretty much always a dub if it's getting a DVD or BD release. I think there's only one thing they didn't dub for its video release and it was for an experiment in whether it could sell.
