Me, henaki, 4r5, kbnova, and elven(who to be fair likes ANYTHING guilty gear) are some of the oldest tournament players on the board. I think most of the newer players much prefer the AC route, whereas there is a comparative lean towards a more #R game from the older players (minus mynus). I LOVE how you got it exactly right in my case :-) Other than that, judging from past history, idk/doubt there will be more than three loketests for this. So we could possibly expect the next one to be fairly close to a release build.

I expect the arcade version to come out just fine in Q1 2014 as advertised, albeit without the full GGXX roster. Come 6-8 months later, we get the console version, and an update to arcades, with 5-6 new characters, some coming directly on release, some coming a few weeks later as DLC. I could really see Arc re-using this release style for Xrd, since they want to get all the GGXX characters in but also recognize they have to prioritize some characters over others for now.

As long as the basis for the gameplay is solid and get a decent amount of chars for the initial arcade version (let's say... 16?), I'd say go for it. I can imagine some of the "newer" chars could also work as replacements for previous "frozen" / dead ones. AKA I imagine a possible Valentine mkII working like Dizzy, one of those ZT dudes from the Pachinko games being the new ZATO SAMA~ or etc.

Question is: who gets to make that initial roster? GG is no slouch on its roster size which sits at 25 (23 in case you don't want to count Justice and Kliff) and we're only up to, what, 11 characters as of loketest #2? Even with 16 characters in tow, I wouldn't be surprised if people were disappointed that their personal pick was among the ones that didn't make the initial cut. True they can add more of them later down the line, but in the meantime, they're stuck having to play Character X when they wanted Character Y.

Millia and Venom are present, and Eddie will be damned if he lets those two develop a stronger rivalry without him. Basically, if those two are already confirmed, then it is a safe bet Eddie is planned somewhere down the line (not to mention we saw him in Trailer #1). Same with Johnny because May.

Zato is more than confirmed with the 1st trailer i reeeeally hope they get rid of the slow down after rc. to me it looks like it breaks the flow of the match. and gives the opponent more time to react or realize whats going on Which is is the whole fucking point, they added it to make GG more accesible and still retain the tools that the FRC gives with the YRC and PRC, the slowdown is here to stay. Add up the numerical value of Aristobule, Daisuke, and Xrd: 121 + 70 + 46 = 237 Get the digital root: 2 + 3 + 7 = 12 1 + 2 = 3 GUILTY GEAR 3!! Am I the only one seeing this!?!

Well I think I read that it's not about acknowledgement. Ishiwatari stated that he believes there is no character with prominent importance over the other.It could be a way of saying he loves every character he has made despite what fans think of them on scale.But take it as you may: Popularity,etc may have a huge role on choice. But not exactly a definite on the selection choice. It's basically a wait and see type situation. Also Eddie's fate seemed to give off the vision of death. But there wasn't a confirmation on what EXACTLY was going on with Zato and the beasts' fusion. XX and on isn't Zato anymore at least conscious-wise. Last I know is that Eddie did want to live(despite the beasts' contentment with learning there was no way of escaping it's fate in a path). On that note:I think Eddie/Zato-1 was a tease for an updated ver. of the game.Like a confirmation that he will be in the game despite not getting formerly revealed in(time for)arcades.So maybe he's a definite for the console version. A switch-up for a "surprise" reveal.But that's only my theory.It could also mean developing him is proving to be a hassle. I'm putting bets riding on Valentine or Sin for reveal.

I didn't test this out as much as I would like. You can still burst grab though. Should be interesting to see what kind of new combos emerge from being able RC air throws with that slowdown now too. And for the record, reload is my least favorite in the XX series. Mainly because it is the weakest and most boring version of Faust... And reload Eddie is dumb. With that said, it is true that I still like the game. I do like forcebreaks though.

I really need to read into the new RC system, and the game does seem slightly slower than older versions of GG. While D.I Sol seems as fast as ever, normal Sol seems slower overall, even Ky as a matter of fact. Also Sacred Edge, Durandal Call version is practically a instantaneous full screen super holy shit!!! I was also hoping to get a gander at Ky's supposed new normal, and Split Ciel (214d) doesn't seem to travel as far as I expected it to, unless it's like Azrael's Sentinel Dump, which tracks to where the opponent is knocked down.

ES mentioned it during the first loketest, but it seems more pronounced than he indicated.
