Can you still input K or whatever else at the same time as H to have that override the H input in case the throw doesn't work?

I think so since button priority is the same isn't it?

Woshige gave his thoughts on the tiers over on his Twitter.

S: Faust, Millia, Chipp Zanuff, Ramlethal, Zato-one.

A: Sol, Ky.

B: I-no, Slayer, Venom, Potemkin, Bedman, May.

C: Axl-Low.

What's up with Axl, I thought he looked pretty good this time around.

You're better off just jumping than trying tricks to win a same-frame throw scenario.

Re: Axl. Faust does pretty much everything Axl does but better at this point. Higher damage output, far stronger mixup game and much better zoning tools thanks to f.S being so ridiculous now. Axl's got Redchain Stance, a true reversal and... that's about it. He lost the grounded multihit normals to make people regret staying on the ground (though he does at least have the  multihit AA normals to punish people for jumping around). He lost his pressure extensions with Greenchain FRC and Blueorb Feint. Blueorb itself got nerfed on top of that. He doesn't really have many tools that take advantage of YRC as a mechanic and he's just plain not very scary.

For all the grumbling we like to do about Potemkin, he at the very least has the completely terrifying Hammerfall YRC. Axl has to spend a lot of time running away (thus gaining less meter) if he wants to Redchain without getting swatted in startup, and pray that the other guy doesn't just blitz shield it or trade with something that'll knock him down. He's by no means a bad character. He's just a bit lacking in something really special to make people respect him.

His moveset in general is pretty gutted, he also lost his HS uppercut (which was good for hard knockdowns), his physical parries are more or less worthless and he lost his projectile parry, both his supers suck, he didn't keep kokugeki or downward bomber, he also lost that dumb fly off the top of the screen move but I guess that's not much of a loss. The new stance is just not very good either, and bomber loops are really anemic damage wise.

Blue Orb is kind of a mixed bag though, he can still bait stuff out with it using YRC on wiff which is interesting.

What?  No throw breaks?  What is this time warp?

Here's hoping that doesn't become an issue, I know a few players who throw a LOT.

Forget +R, where's AC Axl when you need him?

+R axl was preeetty fucking scary. And besides its not like you could reliably throw tech in GG any (teaching 1 frame throws like that intentionally, yea right) so why is it a problem?

What day is TGS this week? also I'd like to know why is Venom so low? what did they change exactly in Xrd?

Venom was the worst (bottom 3-5 at best) in AC+R already.

If anything, going from +R->Xrd, Venom is relatively buffed.

Venom has also never been higher than B/B+ in an endgame tier list to my knowledge. AC was probably the best overall incarnation, and although he got lots of stuff to play around with in +R, he lost things that made him solid (worse anti-air, worse damage, and with no bounce on 6hs also means less time to set up).

Xrd is a return it seems to a more #R Venom in a few ways, but he has enough big and interesting changes (new formations, j.D, mechanics) that Xrd Venom is just...Xrd Venom.

Axl's new stance is so lame, tbh. Simply in sense of an interesting neutral, redchain defeats the purpose so badly. I also miss his crazy frametrap stuff from +R, that was always cool to watch.

Long time watcher of these forums but with xrd I finally made an account.

I just want to say never put to much stock in a Tier List. Don't let Tier lists affect which character you want to main or play. People forget its not the character that wins the match it's the player.

If your going to pick your main based on a Tier List you are limiting your self. Always pick your character based on "Your" strengths and you will go further in Tourny play.

As anime players, I'm sure we know this better than anyone. However in my opinion tier lists are more for showing which characters have to work the hardest. Because as we all know ANY character can win.

Eh, tiers don't matter to an extent. Skill really is the deciding factor, but I still see a high level Makoto having trouble with a high level Kokonoe or a high level Dan(do those exist?) vs a high level Sagat.

I'm fine with Woshige's list, particularly with May's placement. May never seemed strong to me in Xrd... she was more like above Potemkin-tier.

It is not that uncommon, you predict a throw setup (empty jump, tick throw, whatever..) and attempt to break it, works fine most of the time. In Xrd you'll get thrown inevitably or maybe a "danger-time" at best.

I guess Sol just isn't setting enough plays.

I mean it's not that reliable, which is why it is negligible to me if it is there or not. At the same time, there isn't an actual reason to remove it, so yea you are right. I don't exactly know what would make May a stronger character, tbh

Btw, now that I look at it, its hilarious how many characters are S-tier status

We need more Sol players. I think the entire international GG scene should main/play Sol, nothing else.

Godlike:D lol
