Appledash- Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Well I mean... It IS a pole arm. It's a pole. But you're right it should have at least unwrapped for specials or supers and not just his win pose. Sent from my RM-917_nam_usa_100 using Tapatalk
Naotomato Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Didn't really catch most of the quote, but she doesn't ask May to sign her name. She starts with, "As promised, please introduce me to a good person." I wonder because the rough translation of the Sin vs. elphelt was this: "See, Sin, write your name here! Marriage isn't the end of one's life, It is the departure train for the true love! We will from then discover many new scenery together. To start with we will hold hands while walking, and we will be told that we look good together by old lady in the neighborhood...Bafuu! Exciting!" @uncivilized Elk: I'm actually kind of excited to play him because nobody has really shown high level with Sin yet and some of his moves are kind of bouncy/cool looking. He's going to be my main with Ky.

She sounds like a little girl wanting to get married xD

Uncivilized Elk Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 So you think Pachi's play wasn't high level !? I was about to say this. Pachi's play may be called not experienced (I mean how many matches did he play as Sin total? I have no idea but I doubt it was thousands)... but it definitely would qualify to be called high-level. And it stilled looked quite homogeneous from a visual perspective alone - I don't think that's going to change at all. I'm still quite excited to play him, but I got a bit bummed because after seeing what all his normals and specials have to offer he started coming off as a tad monotone to me. I dunno, Ky and Sol having elemental projectiles, ground-slides, Sol's volcanic stuff, divekicks; they definitely come off as waaaaaaaay more varied to me than Sin's pokes and wallops. I wonder because the rough translation of the Sin vs. elphelt was this: What are you wondering about though; having different lines against different characters isn't unexpected. And I doubt the GG team would make El bisexual because I doubt they have the guts to upset the fanbase her character was created to cater to.

the_d3v Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Well I mean... It IS a pole arm. It's a pole. But you're right it should have at least unwrapped for specials or supers and not just his win pose. They probably didn't want to have to animate it. Even if they did use cloth physics, that's still a bit of extra work and they'd still have to manually animate it unfurling.
Kaizen Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 And I doubt the GG team would make El bisexual because I doubt they have the guts to upset the fanbase her character was created to cater to. We haven't seen Elphelt's victory quotes against anybody besides Sin or May, so nothing's really been disproven. Just because she doesn't want to marry May doesn't mean she isn't bisexual. Maybe it's the fact that May's, you know. A fucking brat. Further off topic: DAN SMITH, THE MAN
White Man Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Watching some low-quality footage of Xrd today, I realized that, when the visuals are sufficiently blurred, the models are virtually indistinguishable from the old XX sprites. The characters' proportions, colors, the way they move... Everything is just right. Totally random observation, I know. It's just something I noticed that made me happy.
Anne Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Let's be careful with the Elph discussion, remember gameplay guys. Again, recent events make this important to follow.
Uncivilized Elk Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 I don't think anyone'd be upset. The otaku of Japan have surprised me so many times in what they get upset by (and to major degrees) I lost count. I hope you're right though. So... on the topic of a release date, how often do games get released within 2 months of the announcement of a release date? Is that a fairly common occurrence or fairly rare? As we get closer and closer to December the more my jimmies get rustled. Also, yes, Dan Smith is indeed the man!
rayplay Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Killer 7 in general is badass. Oh this isn't the Killer 7 appreciation topic? Then uh, do characters have any special dialogue in their intros depending on who they're fighting or is it always the same?
kosmos badgirl Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Do you guys think the PS4 pad will be OK to play the game?, I can't get a PS4 and the stick together, too much money. I don't have the console yet so I have no clue if the d-pad is good for fighting games.
Soviet Bear Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 I ended up ordering a Fighting Commander Pro 4 since it works on both PS3 and PS4, just so I could switch between Xrd versions as needed. Might work as a temporary solution for you?

But I suppose it would be wise to assume PS4...sooo I see where you're coming from I guess. But I believe a lot of us will keep using our dusty old PS3's.

I want the best version and is the right time for me to jump to next gen with The Evil Within and AC: Unity coming soon. Having a PS4 (soon), it makes no sense to buy it for PS3, in my opinion.
Soviet Bear Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 When you could just use a dualshock 4 which works on both consoles... I meant in case the DS4 d-pad wasn't good enough for fighting games. I have no idea how it performs and I'd rather not have a third of my pad covered in stuff I won't use for fighting games (like the touch screen and analog sticks).

Countless amounts of players have been using the DS4 for tournaments since it came out last year. I've been using it since BBCP 1.0 on console.

Well, that sucks for you and all those other people, because I can guarantee you that the Hori Commander controller is way better than any normal PS pad and if you had the choice you should be picking the HC#P pad. This is based off my own personal Commander 3 Pro (that I used a lot before finally switching to fightstick), but the design looks identical to the 4 Pro, which I assume is only different in that it also works for PS4.
Narroo Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 The flag may not unfurl because it might be too large. A flag that size would take up a lot of visual space and cover the opponent up. That could become an issue.

Aze Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 I was expecting the flag to unfurl during his supers and specials too. Speculation: Maybe in a later version we'll get an unfurled flag for all his specials via an install overdrive. Sin's hunger gauge is dangerously close to HOS' level gauge mechanically, although simpler. Higher gauge HOS = extended specials combo into each other more easily until gauge is depleted Higher gauge Sin = specials cancel into each other until gauge is depleted This makes me wonder if HOS won't be added until much much later in Xrd's releases, if at all. Can Sin's specials be canceled into his eat special?
