nilcam Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I find Accent Core to be pretty slow. How does Xrd compare to it in terms of speed?
heavymetalmixer Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I find Accent Core to be pretty slow. How does Xrd compare to it in terms of speed? Slower, still faster than BBCP and P4U2.
DaiAndOh Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I find Accent Core to be pretty slow. How does Xrd compare to it in terms of speed?Out of curiosity, what games do you find fast? There's only a fair few fighters I've played I feel play faster, such as Marvel 2, HnK, and VSav....

kosmos badgirl Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 JP. 12 days earlier. No translation. Somewhat higher price due to larger markup on Euro -> Yen cards. ? If I did the math correctly, this option will cost 50€ if you buy digital.

I'm comparing Minazuki to Ky. I recall the Wii version of AC feeling pretty fast.
Uncivilized Elk Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 P4U2 feels faster but I am judging off of the PS3 Accent Core port. Is that maybe a bad port? I'm comparing Minazuki to Ky. I recall the Wii version of AC feeling pretty fast. P4A2 is not faster than any version of GG. Not even close.
Sanger Zonvolt Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 He definitely isn't the best. But idk, his play is really what inspired me to play sol, so I enjoy watching him. Anyways, sorry for getting off-topic. I was inspired in a similar fashion by Kusoru.

youcanwonder Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I like the way xrd feels in terms of speed. Id say its a little faster then reload, but then again im playin the demo where the computer is set on easy and its ms rushing down. Lol

Compare Minazuki to Moroha Mode ABA or Chipp. Ky's a simple and solid character about smacking people for jumping dumb or not respecting his frametraps.
xlolxlolx Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 ky is faster than minazuki in every situation you can think of
nilcam Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Thanks for the input. I'm reinstalling Accent Core + R to see if maybe that's the issue. I compared it to Reloaded on PSP and AC feels very slow comparatively; almost like the characters are walking in mud. Reloaded feels much closer to what I recall of GG.
DaiAndOh Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 I'm pretty sure AC is generally considered a faster game than #R...but I don't have enough #R experience to truly claim that though...
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 IIRC old console versions of GG always ran faster than the arcade versions. +R on PS3 and 360 is closer to arcade, which would explain why it feels slower. That being said, GG is one of those games that feels much faster once you actually know what you're doing. As an aside, after practicing with Sol for extended periods of time on the Xrd demo, I found that going back to +R and trying to do JC combos would often result in me getting empty jump cancels with no normals afterwards. Wonder if the buffer is bigger in Xrd or maybe the game is actually faster?

Teyah Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 That's the new Xrd buffer. For example, in the 6P 5H j.D dustloop starter, you have to time the first j.D in +R, but can pretty much just hold the D button while jumping in Xrd. To compensate, the second rep of j.D has been made way harder in Xrd. So instead of having to hit 2 links in a ~5F window, now it's one link in a ~2F window.. It's just a different type of difficulty now.

I don't mean to be rude, but are you sure your perceived speed differences are not just from you being proficient at one game and not the other? I dropped P4A after getting into GG for a variety of reasons, but one of those is that P4A felt slower and less heart-pulsing.

The most time I've spent with GG was AC+ on Wii back in 2009. I've put in a lot of time with P4A in the past few months. I'm interested in Xrd but don't have a PS4 so I do not have access to the demo. I'd hate to buy it and then find I don't enjoy the game.

Uncivilized Elk Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 It's coming out on PS3 to. He said he wants to try the demo before buying it. No PS3 demo has been announced as far as I know (though it's likely it will be around the time of release). Question: How much does hellfire increase super damage? Is it set across all supers or does it vary from character to character (or super to super)?
king of heart Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 So the PS4 2.00 update brought the feature to upload to YouTube and fixed a problem with the TE2 where the lock button wasn't working in PS4 mode!
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 Didn't realize the TE2 was already available in Japan. Waiting for them to announce preorders for the Xrd TE2, gonna snatch that up.
