Does anyone know how much frame advantage you get from doing an instant block (or just guard)? 

 

Pardon me I'm not completely familiar with Guilty Gear terms yet.  Once the game will come out I will be new to Guilty Gear.  It will be nice to play another fighting game after so long.

Speaking of which, why aren't Venom players using it? It seems like a good super.

It's not. It absorbs the set balls you have on the screen, and while it does enhance it, the damage/radius/time it lasts is not worth it. And it costs 50 meter for no guaranteed damage. Why do that when I could use 50 meter on 2 YRCs? Or hell, one RC after confirming to get extra damage/positioning.

I don't know if that's been posted in the 4gamer wiki yet, but you can check our wiki for info.  Also, there's the +R wiki, and Xrd might have similar values.

Instant Blocking in GG reduces blockstun by a set amount based on the level of the move you IB. There's a chart for those values here: http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=Attack_Attributes_%28GGXRD%29#Attack_Level

 

Because the difference is a set amount, you're not guaranteed to get Frame Advantage for IB. For example, Ky's 6H is a level 5 move, but it's +15 on block. If you IB the last hit, Ky still recovers 11 frames before you. But since he can't really combo into 6H normally, you'll be using IB in other situations to open holes in more traditional blockstrings.

-H- Drill Special was added back to +R and it was LLM just like it used to be in XX/#R/Slash.  But yeah in Xrd it's actually been changed (nerfed) to LMM.

I'm almost positive it used to be LMM pre AC, are you sure it wasn't?

I know many people do not care(not that many May players in +R) but I think Xrd May is the one of the best iterrations of May. I know that some might disagee except for GGXX and #Reload. I think we can all agree on that front. I feel this way because she can keep the pressure on a lot easier this time around. YRC and just not having to rely on FB Iruka-san and strange dash timings for max combos help alot. I also think the beach ball, appluase changes and Ensenga!? seems pretty strong. The way Xrd is built changed the dynamic to be what I have stated above. I have only one downside dolphin seems to come out slower but it also seems easeir to combo with and just use a bit more safely. So that might not be that bad. Anyway feel free to tell me what you guys think. Am I crazy?

Awww yisss.

I hope he's just as good as any other Arc DLC character. Though his weapon seems kinda meh to me. Can't wait to see him in action.

I recall both ik mode and ik itself having super freeze when I saw it done in Sol/Ky/Ram's IK combo (wild throw/throw, rc, ik).

The actual IK attacks have a superflash, but it's the same as any other superflash. They still have X many frames of startup before and after that superflash that have to be accounted for. However, this startup IS reduced by the same conditions that cause IK activation freeze. Just not to 0.

You're not crazy actually, I don't have much knowledge regarding her though since she's not one of the characters I play in offline the most (though her +R version is quite fun to play with), but yeah, along with Millia she's defintely one of the most improved characters in the game, unlike I-No and Potemkin (Slayer is not that bad actually, at least he's notably one of the characters with more benefits thanks to the new RC system).

You are right, Destin.

 

We could say that the outright removal of Shark Drive/Spitball is a nerf, but I'd say that Mini Eddie essentially having Slayer dash into Nobiru makes it more of a sidegrade than up or down.

Also, it'd be great if none of you were stupid enough to post things like "Leo's in, called it!" or other completely useless things. We don't know anything yet. Don't ask about his playstyle. Don't bother speculating. Save me the headache.

While I understand where you are coming from, based on observations about your posts I have come to conclusion that you are very ill tempered individual with little to no toleration at all. 

 

Anyways going back on topic, the hype is real! I really hope Leo's gameplay doesn't disappoint us.

ugh, here I was hoping for some returning characters for DLC....oh well. Maybe it'll still happen, but three characters is quite a bit for Arc.

So, should we make a Leo hype thread considering Circ might kill us all if we keep talking about him?

I know the Leo/Azrael comparison has been done a million times before we even saw what weapon he uses, but I really hope they feel similar. GG needs that straightfoward, hard-hitting, precise-berzerker style character.

Topic being theoretical gameplay discussion and then asking people to not speculate anything about the new character? Wow just wow. GJ. Maybe instead you should stop being admin if you get headache from this and start reading some other threads in different forums.
