king of heart Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Yep, though a more organic translation would be "That idiot, Sin" [too bad I doubt they'll produce English versions of these] Looks like they're taking the system voices to a much greater level than what BB did, making all of the voices "in character". A nice novelty, but I doubt I'll be wasting money on that [maybe in the next installment if Baiken is announced]. Faust's system voice turns the game into a 70's show lol.
D.R.F. Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Just gimme online rematch man fuck. Lol like seriously
SoWL Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I wish everyone were like this. Then I wouldn't have to explain the 3d mid for a 2d player or the opposite. I'd rather have the 3D players learn the ways of logic.
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Looks like they're taking the system voices to a much greater level than what BB did, making all of the voices "in character". A nice novelty, but I doubt I'll be wasting money on that [maybe in the next installment if Baiken is announced]. IIRC system voices in CP did this as well, you just had to pick the appropriate "version" of the voice. Example, Ragna system voice calls Taokaka "Tao", calls Hakumen "Masked Bastard", etc etc.
SolxBaiken Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 lol, I didn't mess around with the system voices, and most I heard were the Engrish versions, but did that apply to general system messages too?
RurouniLoneWolf Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Xrd's 64 player lobbies sound kind of wacky. Feels like it would be quicker to just go to the regular list of player rooms than to go to the lobby and try and figure out if the 8 player rooms inside have people to your liking.

Normally I wouldn't care, but the thought of I-No calling May "that horny brat" at character select has me interested. Kinda hope they allow individual voice toggling between US and JPN versions in case someone sucks, kinda like being able to switch Sol between Nakata and Ishiwatari. So, you're in CH state during BS recovery? Any idea how long it takes air BS to recover? I'm pretty sure you float a bit when you use it, but maybe I'm wrong and you keep falling. It'd be kinda weird if you could use it near the ground to cut the recovery to 12 frames instead of having 38-46 frames of total duration.
SolxBaiken Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 The system voices are indeed DLC, and I doubt we'll have individual voice toggling, outside of Capcom, I can't think of anyone who bothers to do this. Xrd's 64 player lobbies sound kind of wacky. Feels like it would be quicker to just go to the regular list of player rooms than to go to the lobby and try and figure out if the 8 player rooms inside have people to your liking. The open lobbies [as they are in every fighter that features them] are to simulate the social aspect of an actual arcade, they're not intended to be the optimal mode, which is why the standard match making rooms still exist.
RurouniLoneWolf Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 The open lobbies [as they are in every fighter that features them] are to simulate the social aspect of an actual arcade, they're not intended to be the optimal mode, which is why the standard match making rooms still exist. But that's the thing. It doesn't even do that as it's currently implemented because at the end of the day if you want to play, you need to go into a player room first. You can't really play a few matches then have idle chit chat with your opponent/others in between in a way that you can't already do in a player room. I guess it's good if you just want to talk to a bunch of people at once without really caring about playing though.
DaiAndOh Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 As I said in VA thread, best would be Sol calling Ky "Boyscout" sort of arcade lobby is weird and all, but the most important part has to be good netcode for matches in the end.
SolxBaiken Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 What? It looks just like Ad-hoc party, you're in a large room where you can discuss with everyone and setup a session by constructing a pocket space within the room [from which you can still communicate normally amongst inhabitants of that space with all the features of a standard room]. This just makes it easier to congregate if you have no predetermined goal, you kind of just float around in the open space to see what's what and go from there. Coming from BB/P4U2, the pocket space creation may seem odd, but this is probably to improve latency issues [one of the biggest complaints of the previous two's lobbies]. At the end of the day, it's just an additional layer of options that do not subtract from the experience, so I'm not sure why the complaints.
r0b0t Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I have a question in the scans does this piece describe the costs of the game? And if so what does it say it will cost digitally? And is there a difference between PS3/PS4 costs? http://imgur.com/skezWma I hosted the piece I am intrested in on imgur.
Zedar90 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I have a question in the scans does this piece describe the costs of the game? And if so what does it say it will cost digitally? And is there a difference between PS3/PS4 costs? http://imgur.com/skezWma I hosted the piece I am intrested in on imgur. There are no price difference between the Digital version for PS3 and PS4, both costs 5980 yen(including Tax).
LockedAndClush Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I recall reading somewhere that PS3 digital would cost 5537. I hope it's true, a little extra money never hurt anyone. EDIT Guess it's the price without tax. Meh. Still buyin'.
RurouniLoneWolf Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 snip But you don't have the same options in a player rooom as a lobby though. Once you go into the player rooms, you won't really be able to text chat with one another unless it's between matches. Unless you have a mic, you don't really have any means to communicate with one another anymore while you wait to play. This creates a very sharp disconnect between playing and socializing that doesn't really happen with the previous lobbies. I also don't really think you have as much flexibility in the player rooms as you hint at with the AdHoc party example. But I'm not really all that interested in this topic too much to be honest. It just found it weird how counter intuitive this implementation is. Lets move on to things involving gameplay and junk.
AllyOfJustice Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 https://twitter.com/Kurushii/status/530042939385589761 Scans thanks to Kurushii. 64-player Online Lobby is just a hub area for Player Matches, there are doors to Player Rooms on it. It's still a separate mode from Player Match, confusingly. Online Training Mode confirmed BTW. The Xrd lobbies look so awkward. A bunch of faces around arcade machines..and some of them are turned sideways. So there's no cute avatar you can walk around with? Blazblue once again being superior...
badgerfan20945 Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 The Xrd lobbies look so awkward. A bunch of faces around arcade machines..and some of them are turned sideways. To be honest something like that would be a waste of development time and they lack the manpower to do it atm.
AllyOfJustice Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Maybe in the next version they'll add it? I still don't like the fact GG is making a comeback yet Arcsys put small team on its development. Meanwhile BB and Ultimax have big rosters and walkable lobbies. I want dem walkable lobbies. It's so immersive.
DaiAndOh Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Cool so you can join the 20 other roleplayers in the Ultimax lobby taking space that could be used for playing games? Maybe they wanted a greater focus on being able to find a match, which the P4 and BB lobbies aren't as great, so they took from that and tried to create a different system.PS: Get it through your head this is the first version of GG, and they had to build the models from nearly scratch in a completely new engine.Persona is on the 2nd game and has 22 characters. GG on the first has 17. BB on the 2nd game had 17 as well...(Platinum came out exactly when CS2 did).
Clousephinat Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Putting a little of effort in ignoring AllyOfJustice... So, people joining in a room will know now which is the character you'll choose, or that's just an avatar that you can choose for every character regardless that?
AllyOfJustice Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 I'm pretty sure that's just the avatar.
Sanger Zonvolt Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 It actually seems they got rid of the arcade machines themselves in the lobby. I find that a good thing, because screw people who steal your machine.
D.R.F. Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 It actually seems they got rid of the arcade machines themselves in the lobby. I find that a good thing, because fuck people who steal your machine. But that arcade lyfe though
king of heart Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 But that arcade lyfe though Totally true.
Tokkan Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Wasn't it confirmed, like, months ago? On a different scan? We had 64-player online lobbies with Online Training confirmed months ago?
