Antaiseito Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Whelp, this game sold like absolute shit (only 39.916, both versions included) , i´m terribly dissapointed, i expected the reception would be much better.... Source? Download and Discs?
stickystaines Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 atm im just using blitzshield to punish easily seeable but hard to counter situations like May's j.2H, just to let them know that shit aint free. Wanna try to start using it on Ram's overhead string as well (why that move is +3 i'll never know).
Rhiya Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Whelp, this game sold like absolute shit (only 39.916, both versions included) , i´m terribly dissapointed, i expected the reception would be much better.... Alternatively, JP gameshares as hard as America =3
ivanchu77 Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Source? Download and Discs? Here: http://www.siliconera.com/2014/12/10/week-sales-super-smash-bros-wii-u/ No idea about downloads thought
nstalkie Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Does anyone else experience this: the sound in prerendered cutscenes is heavily distorted on my PS3. This is the download version from the Japanese store. I don't have any issues with scenes ingame or rendered cutscenes like arcade mode opening movies. The problem occurs when watching for example the trailers, arcade ver opening, arcade ver common ending, TGS trailer. It also happens when the arcade ver common ending is played during endings. I tried re-installing already. My ps3 is a super slim.
Uncivilized Elk Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 So does unlocking the voices in the gallery actually add them to the 2 player game or is it just a soundbite you listen to in the gallery? I was assuming the characters get extra phrases but I'm still unclear on that.
Sourenga Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 So does unlocking the voices in the gallery actually add them to the 2 player game? Umm... Voice Gallery only has Location Test Voices, Countdown Voices and a selection of overly long phrases... So, the answer to your question is no. Overly long phrases are just something that exist in the game, but you can never hear them in full length while playing the game... In BlazBlue you could hit the pause button during overly long phrases, and character would still finish their lines. In GGXrd pressing pause stops the voices with the gameplay, making it impossible to listen some voices in full.
Uncivilized Elk Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Ah, thanks. I saw that all characters have like 3 versions of what they say during May's IK, so I thought maybe you are buying alternate dialogue for her IK, and then from that thought I considered that maybe the other phrases are like extra win quotes or something. If the music wasn't in the same tab as the voices I wouldn't even have pondered about that to begin with. Ur... just to double check, the music tracks DO get added to the actual vs game, right?
SynikaL Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 How does Dust > Launch work in this game? I assume it's just like the older games, but anytime I try to gatling jumping attacks into one another whilst holding 8, the sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It's really weird. -Kimosabae
Rhannmah Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 you don't have to hold 8 anymore, attacks cancel into themselves for some frames after the aerial chase.
Yukikaze Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Lol good one But yeah the netcode is kinda like +R, it's good when you have a really great connection. I really hope they can fix it tho', it just needs to be on Blazblue/P4U2 level. Would you be kind enough to do several tests at different traffic times on different servers? I can get a ping test to show 200+ d/l speed when i'm capped at around 40.
Yukikaze Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 i missed the leo gameplay video and it's gone now, anybody else has a working link? There was a Facebook link on GameFAQs i think, but don't worry the quality was poor and Leo looked even worse. He actually sounded good on paper aswell. Whelp, this game sold like absolute shit (only 39.916, both versions included) , i´m terribly dissapointed, i expected the reception would be much better.... Ye 40k seems to be the figure floating around... if the figure is actually this low! Would that mean no DLC and only a physical updates? or only DLC?
FKGunBlaze Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Pachi explains how to Leo.exe Also, this one?
White Man Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Here: http://www.siliconera.com/2014/12/10/week-sales-super-smash-bros-wii-u/ No idea about downloads thought I think the lesson to learn from this is don't go up against Smash Bros. But hey, at least it outsold Call of Duty!
Circuitous Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Hot damn that's fast. I have a pretty good internet connection even wireless I play vs japan with no lag. It's why I'm wondering why everyone is negative on the netcode. Forgive my ignorance it's just something I heard. Just looked it up and apparently US is $hit compared to Europe and cheaper. I get the impression you just don't recognize lag. (Pro tip: if you're on wireless, stop. Get a cheap ethernet cable. Drill holes if you have to. I've got no problem bailing on a fight if you're on wireless.)re: 2F feeling like shit: this is believable. The game attempts to use the lowest frame delay available that will provide a smooth experience (which is why the delay changes periodically) but occasionally this delay can either get stuck, or can be improperly calculated. In the event that the given delay is too low for the actual connection, the game slows down in an attempt to synchronize the information it's receiving, because that's all it knows how to do. Normally the delay would raise to compensate for this trouble, but if it's stuck at 2F for whatever reason, well, there you go.I've been consistently getting 4-6f delay with a variety of people (aside from Brandino, with whom my delay fluctuates constantly and there are occasional slowdowns; see above), and after some adaptation it feels fine.re: sales figures: These are (almost) always representative of physical copies, not downloads. So take that into consideration. As for what it means for future releases: Xrd already has its DLC plans, and since it's a fighting game, we can say with relative confidence that it will get another retail release down the road for the next iteration. Not much to speculate on there.
Silver Mushroom 2 Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 (edited) Whelp, this game sold like absolute shit (only 39.916, both versions included) , i´m terribly dissapointed, i expected the reception would be much better.... To play the optimist, Japan has a good arcade scene unlike America, and like you said, only Arc sys knows how many otakus just had to get their waifu fix on digitally. America and Europe do not have an arcade scene, so hopefully that will make English players pick up the financial slack. But yeah, releasing the game on the same week as friggin smash bros. was a horrible idea. Edited December 13, 2014 by Silver Mushroom 2
sren Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 http://www.twitch.tv/mixupnight/ seems Woshige, Dogura, Kedako, Haitani, N-Otoko among others in attendance
king of heart Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Guys did anyone notice that any hit during YRC scales about 20% ? I mean it does 80% from the original damage! Even normal RCs scales Edit: it only scale if the hit connected during time slow.

So it is a pretty underwhelming for a big iteration like this one. >.<
Henaki Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 xrds combined sales in a single week puts it at #4... i dunno how that is considered "bad" when the game makes plenty of money at arcades and honestly has stronger western appeal than blazblue.
SuperJ Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 it also turns out landing 5D mid-combo flat out removes RC proration lol. in fact you get bonus proration (looks like 110%). you have to take GB- into account tho. mostly benefits characters that rack up guard gauge and have an easy RC 5D route tho (slayer?!?)
qwerty Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Because if a game doesn't sell half a million its first week, it's an irredeemable failure. I'm mildly curious as to how PS3 and PS4 version sales compare in Japan and NA.
zdravkelja Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 Well, sales arent' very good compared to BB or Persona, but Japan is all about handheld consoles. Home consoles and games for them in Japan are in decline, everything is selling worse than before.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 I downloaded the Leo Pachi video, does anyone feel I should upload it to youtube? If so, would I get penalized by ArcSys?
TheRealBobMan Posted December 13, 2014 Posted December 13, 2014 it also turns out landing 5D mid-combo flat out removes RC proration lol. in fact you get bonus proration (looks like 110%). you have to take GB- into account tho. mostly benefits characters that rack up guard gauge and have an easy RC 5D route tho (slayer?!?) You sure about the positive proration thing? With I-No, if I CH 5H > 5D > homing dash j.H > j.D > c.S > 6P > 5H, I get the same damage as if I 5H > RC > 5D > finish the same combo. It does look like it removes the RC proration, but I'm not seeing bonus damage, and I'm doing the exact same combo. I still get the same damage if I crank RISC. Still, that's pretty cool.
