Mahouko Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 the big question is: are there sticks for the wii? or better: there's a chance i can use my Te on the wii too, maybe with some homemade plugin? (btw, frank west is awsome.) didnt they have the TvC fight sticks at the place you got them? I know mine did but i didnt need them b/c i had 2 fight sticks already.
Twin Rhapsody Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I swear, Alex has the most LOL inducing stuff in this game, and it's not even intentional! Using Flash Barrage on small characters or giants, using Stun Gun Headbutt/Power Bomb/Hyper Bomb on giants (especially SGH), it's all so ridiculous and LOL worthy. On a side note, it always sounds like he's saying: "You can't stop me!" when he starts his Supers, even though I KNOW he's saying: "You can't escape!"

LOL Seriously Power Bomb on giants(also Frank's grab) is hilarious.
NasaXnieru Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Alex vs big characters is gold (no pun intended) Just picked up this game and it's really fun, have a small gripe with it though. The online mode is really laggy (fake surprise) and finding matches takes pretty long. I've played about ~10 matches so far and have only been able to land a few combos successfully, it's almost unplayable lol. Anyone had any luck finding smooth games? Other than that the game is great, so many cool characters. . .hard to decide on who to pick

What did you expect? That's why I use a wired connection. Anyways, I've decided that, once I pick up the game, I'll give Alex, Ryu, Jun the Swan, and Frank West a try.
Tronzilla666 Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 Yes to all the people who have ps2 sticks you can buy converters to play on the Wii. I am waiting for the new competition woohoo!
Spud Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Wiimote/Nunchuck controls really blow. They wouldn't be nearly as bad if you could map your buttons in any way whatsoever.
mAc Chaos Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 So what game does this play like? I heard it's like Marvel VS Capcom 2, which I never liked. Or is it more a party type game like Smash Bros?
kilabeep3 Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 @ MAC ok its like a mixture of BB and MVC2 with a little doujin fighter type feel to it. there is a deep fighting mechanic to it but simple to pick up ( like BB) BUT the team you use and characters DRASTICALLY make up what the game is because of the differrent assists. assists are like MVC2 BUT you can tag in MID combo in the air thus making certain combo chains longer, stronger or whatever. and the team element really is fun. personally i love TVC because its much like MVC2 and yet its its own game. i hope they expand on this system its actually really really fun. ive had the JAP version for about a year ans i still play it! now that the new update is out its even better than the original!
bjholmes2 Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 OK, I picked this up today and got to play it in Training mode for a few minutes. It seems a lot less "zoney" than MvC2. From what I've played, I like it (a lot) better, but then again, I never really got into MvC2. Character-wise, I like using Alex, Karas, and that one guy from Onimusha whose name I cannot remember.
Nakkiel Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 His name is Soki, can't remember the whole name.
haketh Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF IT HAPPENED AGAIN! You'd think I'd learned to interupt Joe the Condors plane super but no, I jump to avoid it, get Joe in a combo and missle hits both Ryu and Tekkaman mid combo. I am a idiot.
Black ninja Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Well i think MvC is better. i guess i just dont like the characters
Arakune Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 His name is Soki, can't remember the whole name. "Kaijin no" it means "Soki of the Ashes" i think. haketh you made me think about a joe missile-polimar drill combo, lol
Twin Rhapsody Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 I personally like it a lot more than MvC2, because this one actually feels like no characters are outright trash, even Roll is good for once! Too bad Phoenix Wright didn't make it in, he'd easily be the most fun character to play IMO. Well, there is the small chance for DLC.
bjholmes2 Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 Brian 1763 - 4215 - 3269 There is my FC, if anyone is interested in playing. EDIT: Oh my word, random online play is horrendous. Every one of the five or six matches I've played have had at least five seconds of input delay (full seconds), and I'm using a wired connection. What a bummer. Anyways, my main is now Soki. I've got some combos here, if anyone is interested. I'm so proud of myself for discovering these! 1.) H 3H (9), j.L j.L j.M (9), j.M j.H 2.) H 6H xx 623L, L M 3H (9), j.L j.M j.M 3.) H 6H xx 623M xx 236MH 4.) H (2H) 6H (Alex assist hits) xx 623H xx 236MH Notes: All - Before the beginning of each combo, feel free to add in jump-ins, L and M combos, and BBQ'd combos. 1 - Highest damage Aerial combo I could find without any meter or assists. 2 - 623L, L is a link. 3 - Easy BnB into super. 4 - Does good damage, about 22k billion. The timing for the Alex summon is much more strict if you include the 2H.
RPGsFTW Posted February 3, 2010 Posted February 3, 2010 http://www.mediafire.com/?jwydiyqymqd Tell me if the link is messed up, please. MediaFire is stingy with me sometimes, haha. But yeah, this is a link to a WinRar archive with pictures of all four colors per character. I did this last night. Be appreciative, I know some people were curious on what the colors looked like! =D Oh, and sorry if the quality isn't that good, haha. Also, note, I listed the colors in the order that you select them on the Gamecube Controller. That means: Y - 1 (Standard), X - 2, A - 3 (Last hit kill on the giant in arcade mode), and B - 4 (Last hit kill on 3rd form of Yami). =D
Mightfo Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Oh my word, random online play is horrendous. Every one of the five or six matches I've played have had at least five seconds of input delay (full seconds), and I'm using a wired connection. What a bummer. You may want to try setting up DMZ mode or port forwarding.(28910, 29900, 29901, 29920, 80, and 443.) More help perhaps in here: http://www.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=223443 I am using wireless and only have like half a second of input delay at most ever. Most matches are playable for me, though jittery every now and then.

OTHERWISE, THEY WON'T BE SELECTABLE!* =D Yes i am the guy who did the fourth post.
Twin Rhapsody Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Alright, for those who like Casshan/Casshern, here's THE combo you want to learn: 5L > 5M > 2M > 5H > 236M > 5M > 2M > 3C (9) > j.LL > J.MM > 236H ^ That right there deals a whopping 23K and costs NO METER!!! You can tack on a 623MH for an extra 3K, you'll generate enough meter during the combo anyway, so why not? Baroque String: 5L > 5M > 2M > 5H > 236L > Baroque > w/e, although it's recommended to just use the same string but with 236M, then followup with his Launcher.
the_d3v Posted February 6, 2010 Posted February 6, 2010 Still no mention of the ground dash glitch/super dash (a.k.a. smurving) Hit 66(5)69 (returning to neutral after the first dash is important). It's basically jump cancelling your ground dash into another ground dash. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9JVvBMyHiw
Yggjrasil Posted February 7, 2010 Posted February 7, 2010 Yatterman-2....best fucking character ever.
RebelzPlague Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 Hey, does anyone know what advanced guarding does? I know it's better than regular guarding, but does it have any side effects?
