RockinGamma Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 I don't know if this is the place to post this. So, I invite my best friend over to my house all the time. We usually play BB to pass the time. I can't beat him. It's getting really frustrating. I mean he doesn't even own the game! I practice a lot and I still get wrecked! I'm getting very frustrated and angry. What should I do? How can I improve before i punch him in the face?

RockinGamma Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 "There is no shortcut to perfection. Hard training is the only way." -Dudley, Super Street Fighter IV You see, I'm not sure i'm training correctly. I don't Know what exactly counts as training.
Rhiya Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 This post here should be a pretty good explanation of what you can train and how to use training mode.

darkasjinksu§ Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Which character do you usually play against him, and which does he use? It might be the matchup.
mAc Chaos Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 Does he play other fighters? Most fighters share the basics, so even if he doesn't own BB he can still carry over the skills to be decent at a basic level.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 It'd help if you posted which characters both of you are using.
RockinGamma Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 He does play other fighters. I play Makoto and Noel, he plays Bang and Tsubaki.
edollarports Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 I think you should ask him. If he has experience, he's probably just unconsciously exploiting gaping holes in your play. Ask him about it! I forget who it was that posted in another thread about the "I know a combo, I should be able to hit him and win but I can't!" mentality. Since he's your best friend, I'm sure he'll tell you what he's doing or what you're doing wrong.
Dark Ranger88 Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 (edited) What exactly is he doing to get you? Is there a certain move or setup that you just can't seem to stop? Does he block all of your attacks, then hit you? Can you not land a hit in neutral and gain some momentum? Does he lock you down in the corner and attack every time you wake up? Does he use a move that always goes through your attacks? If it's something that you can kinda put your finger on, then the people on this forum will definitely know of a way to stop it. Edit: Also I can play you on XBL if our connection isn't too bad. I can teach you a few tricks that might help you do better. Hopefully you'll be able to beat the crap out of your friend and rub his face in it. Edited July 25, 2013 by Dark Ranger88

Kikuichimonji Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 If you can record a video and upload it, that would be the best option. What you think the problem is might not really be the main problem.
