Well that does up the ante when it comes to tourneys when people use shadow characters for the extra health.

So say, I go as Junpei and I fight a shadow yosuke, he has more health than his normal glass cannon-y self.

Or if I use shadow kanji against a normal yukiko, I got the extra health buff to take more damage from her agi, combos, and fans, etc.etc.

It's like this situation wise, but there are possible work arounds in done right. This does give the shadows a better chance in battle due to the lack of a burst

The following formula already does that.  left number of the addition is the 35% health value WITH the defense modifier, and the right number of the addition is the 65% health that has not entered awakening.

Yeah, woops, I missed that. Thanks for clearing this up.

All I know is that most the instakill combos have to be redrawn for Shadow Kanji, the new king of damage sponges.

awesome....now we wait for playable rise in the patch (proof mainly)

The answer is, no she isn't playable in this patch. I watched a stream (it's over now, sorry). The good news is Golden Arena is pretty nice looking.

New question is raised

Who are the navigators?

Who are the navigators?

The same navigators as in VS matches. And, like in VS, you can only use the ones you've already purchased, so if you didn't buy any you'll only have Rise.

Slightly yay and mostly FUUUUUUUUUUUCK

The former because I can do my Junpei yosuke combo

The latter because I wanted more variety... Ah well. Lol

They're probably going to add more navigators in time for the console version, don't worry. I mean, wasn't Rise the only navigator in the original game for a long time until they added a bunch around the time of the console version release?

I don't remember how that process went, but I really do hope they add more navigators. I really think they need a Shadow as one of them.

I would get Shadow Kanji and Shadow Rise as navigators.

If that's the case, they must add a Dojima and Marie navigator. That'd be cool, as well. A Margaret one would be neat, but that's just me.

No Ken. We actually got to see the blurred footage from the preview un-blurred... but the character on the right was just a crouching Rise.

Welp, I shouldn't have gotten my hopes up. Guess he wont be revealed until around August closer to console release.

I would also predict a reveal sooner than August, but yeah, it was also too optimistic of me to predict a reveal during the PSC.

Ok, watched the episode. Link to YouTube version.

It looks like Rise has tons of projectiles indeed:

- Musical Note kinda works like Naoto's traps.

- Small beam that goes full screen.

- Horizontal projectile, like Yu's Zio but smaller.

- Mic. throw, doesn't go very far.

- Spinning blue projectile (We can see this one being used in the trailer).

She also has a weird blue shield that stays active once she uses it. No idea what it does.

Those music notes, holy crap. They travel far, last long time and don't disappear even if Rise is hit, and cannot clash with opponent's projectiles. They also detonate with certain attacks, like if Rise throws her mike stand (they seem to react to attacks with soundwave effect on them).

I think I might actually use Rise based on that gameplay. She appears to have good range and has the ability to zone and control space. Can't get much on rather she has good damage or not, most zoners don't, but will have to wait and see. I'm probably one of the few people who actually appreciate this, but I also like her walk animation a lot (one of the weird reasons I picked up Aigis).

I'm curious how many options she has for oki because that destruco disk she did seemed like it stuck around longer than the others, so she might be able to hold down the button to make it last longer. One of the weaknesses I can see with her is how horizontal her attacks her. Not enough footage, but she seems like an interesting character.

I can see the Dizzy/Mu-12 references as well as other details that give her a more unique touch (that blue shield for instance, I'm sure we'll learn what it does soon enough) and what was that super at 2:30? Is it incomplete? All that happened is that the screen went black and then the opponent was damaged... I actually expected an instant kill for a moment.

I also wonder when (and if) they'll stop teasing Adachi in a cryptic manner and confirm him.
