-Expanded beginner support

Huh, and what could that be? More tutorials? More Beginner/Stylish mode options?

-Assigned a beginner-recommended hierarchical city

I assume this is in Network Mode. It could be both a good and a bad thing. It's good in the sense that it allows new players to seek out a starting point appropriate to their skill level. On the other hand, if the system simply judges "beginner-friendly" as "a lot of low ranks gather here" then it might present a problem since I know that a number of long-time BB players aren't increasing their rank due to bugs that accompany Ranked matches. In particular, the one where someone can rage-quit on you and still be given the win.

-Fixed bugs with Ranked Match searching

-Lag mitigation

Excellent. From the sound of things, some people are having serious trouble with online right now, even in Japan at 4 bars.

-Character balance remains as it is now

Question is: will they change it in the 5 months for the localized version?

1. Lobby mode. They'll just have another city that's just beginner mode marked on the majority if not all the cabs. Normally you only have 2 per city.

2. Depends, it'll be a first since in the past they only patched glitches like Makoto parry loop. Balance patches normally come with game revisions (example CS1 > CS2 > CSE).

Oh, that sounds useful then.

True enough. Out of curiosity, how long did it take for the CS2 patch to hit after the initial CS1 version? I know it was after Valkenhayn was released, but don't remember specifics.

you know i totally forgot they made us wait half a year to get the update for CS2 on console. guess we are playing with this game for a while. Maybe it's their tactic to get people out to the arcades in december. no broken kokonoe in arcades!!

So they also patched in a couple new emotes. A thumbs up, a what looks like 'sorry' face and maybe one more. Edit: Yeah, what looks like a ...happy happy face?

They probably felt like the one with sharp teeth was too creepy? I know when I first went into the arcade lobbies I felt like it'd be weird, but I came to enjoy it.

-Added 3 new emotes to use in online lobbies.

-The "15th Hierarchical City Torifune" lobby is now a beginner-friendly lobby, it is marked as such on the world map. Also, each lobby now has 4 beginner sets instead of 2.

-Ranked Match searching: Fixed bugs with search parameters and a rare situation where one would not progress.

-Improved signal processing in network matches.

-Fixed a bug with network colours.

-Fixed a bug where some of Hazama's voices would repeat in network mode.

-Fixed a bug with Kagura's astral heat where under certain conditions it would sometimes cause a lockup midway.

-Fixed a bug where in Gallery mode where at certain times when purchasing some illustrations it would not purchase but the P$ would still be spent.

-Fixed a bug with dates displayed on the Player List

-Fixed a bug where on the Character Select screen, the names and pictures of characters would slip(?)

The 1.02 update was the patch right? I just downloaded it last night. I'm happy to hear they fixed the Gallery Illustration glitch, I wasted some P$ with that one. I want to see the new Emotion Icons.

CS1 console to CS2 arcade ~6mo

CS2 arcade to CS2 console ~6mo

CS2 console to CSE arcade ~6mo

CSE arcade to CSE console ~6mo

CS1 console to CS2 console ~1yr

CS2 console to CSE console ~1yr

Just going by this pattern alone the arcade version of CP should probably see a balance upgrade around 6 mo after the JP console relase of CP. The NA console release is around 6mo from JP console release when the console release of CS1 NA and JP was released less than one month apart and Console NA and JP CSE was released about 2 months apart. Why would the NA release of CP conslole be pushed back and released an entire 6 months apart? Well theoretically the NA console release would be launching at the same time as an expected Balance update to CP arcade. So therefore i hope that the NA console release was delayed to be released with the future CP arcade balance patch included.

I know cs1 to cs2 console relase was around 1 year apart just for a balance patch but that wouldn't make sense this time in this new generation console transition period. It would be dumb for them to continue developing BB on the PS3 an entire year after the launch of the PS4. They should release the balance patch to consoles as soon as possible after arcade as it would be a great sendoff to get it out to the way in order to spend their full focus to transitioning all of their fighting game development to PS4. 2014 is a very important transitional year for game developers where they should be spending all their time making the move from ps3 to ps4 development as soon as possible.
