What. Are you telling me that after playing very long sets with people you don't become more comfortable with playing against them? We don't really need to try-hard 100% of the time because we already know what the other is capable of.

Makes things much more lax and allows for more experimentation in my opinion.

even in long sets l like to stay at the peak. l never know what the opponent will do no matter how much we play, because what l think is them autopiloting can change at moment's notice.

personally l like to completely engage in the game. frame-by-frame l need to be thinking of a thousand ways of get ahead or stay there. if my opponents aren't in the same mien, they... usually get beheaded violently. lol

that's just me, really, and people tend to quickly understand that l like to be turned up! if l wanted to relax i'd go to sleep.

I didn't mind it THAT much but - running on default and just winning game after game can get really boring - its when working on new tech and stylistic variations that I can feel that same "progress" vs someone of a lower skill ( hate to be harsh but there it is). Try to keep that in mind instead of quickly referring it to sandbagging.
