JoshuaBlaze Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 GGs to abadlime. Our set last night was probably one of the funnest I've had in a long time. I felt like my Azrael was going places for once and wasn't quite so basic. It probably helps that I watched grand finals and saw how pros play the guy and adjusted my game. Still have a lot of different things to learn with his tools, obviously, but I'm really proud of our games last night. Felt like a very confident step forward. HiguraShiki also gave me a hand with my notoriously bad match-up with Noel. Not sure how I'd do against other Noels, but I'm getting better at punishing those drives at least.

Red Reaper Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 going to EVO this year was insanely hype and fighting in the competition and doing "JUST OK-ISH" was like a major achievement for me while simultaneously wearing cosplay etc which I had also never done - in fact the outfit i got actually was not available for me to pick up(I had to drive an hour in the opposite direction) until the morning I left for Vegas - but I digress... Yea I felt super sick and my feet were screaming by the mid-end of the day but the absolute shitloads of pretty girl attention I got was staggering - they just wanted my hands on their body it was mind bending ... I also realized (for the 2nd year in a row) that playing at evo is nothing even close compared to playing at home or at casuals or even at some other tournaments... nerves and stress and tension are so stupidly high I forgot how to play mu-12 for the most part and thanks to Control literally screaming in my ear inbetween matches "PRESS FUCKING D" I was able to go as far as I did - He was a true bro, from carrying my shit so I could get all the pics and attention to calming me down when I needed it and has an almost unlimited "buy me beer for being a bro" card Im absolutely doing this again next year or at some other venue - I know i can improve my Hazama cosplay more in fact... and Im like mad addicted to doing it as well so watch out! .....There really is no better feeling than whispering hazama esque lines into a girls ear- having her melt in your arms ... all while smiling like a giant asshole at her boyfriend who is holding the camera and all allowed because your "in character" props to chickzama and her grandma? for helping me out with some more of the kinky poses I was allowed to get away with~~ *last edit* oh and I almost forgot about this part : It wouldnt be really cosplaying if I wasnt trolling ppl so I managed to lie to a few ppl early on that I was in fact both badlime and Lich .... (badlime to this one guy who totally was like "oh dude you!" etc) (and Lich to like some random players who were like : man why do you play relius now! You look so different in cosplay!") Oh, so you were the Hazama.. lol. I saw you around and my friend told me that it was funny seeing Hazama look at me practicing Hazama. PS: Where in the West are you from? North Bay or LA area perhaps? what ever happened to you trying out Carl Don't tell me you lost all hope.... btw I am definitely going to try to go to EVO next year so I should start taking this game seriously again....... I told myself I would dedicate time to Blazblue after EVO because I want to be good at an Anime game but I think only one Arc Sys game will make it and Guilty Gear might be in since it's new. It's all up to the kommunities and I'm not sure which of the two will be bigger. I guess I'll split my time between both until the announcement rolls through..? IDK.

I'll have to watch them. I felt like you were a step ahead in yomi, scrambling/neutral and didn't trust my pressure. Against Nu, I was trying not to be stupid/predictable and get bodied going in. With pressure, I'm often thinking, how can I mix things up without getting blown up? For some reason, I have an extremely difficult time applying frame traps and 5a pressure with Tsubaki in real matches. Even something like 5B (D) dash command grab, i had to consciously commit to. Perhaps, I am way too focused only singular aspects. I probably need to use forward and back movement a bit more. Thanks for the input. Good games. Susano, look at you being pink. I didn't know you were on DL until I checked this thread. It was going to be a FT10 but then you hadn't won by that point so I kept playing until you took a match from me. ggs to Toan need sleep now GGs. Your Rachel is different than the others I play. It made it difficult to play how I wanted to.
