AchedSphinx Posted May 15, 2014 Posted May 15, 2014 So this is what it feels like to have an astral that doesn't suck monkey balls dia 3c > astral luna sickle > astral pretty much anything > 2DD > astral luna 236C in the corner > astral forward throw in the corner > astral back throw in corner > 5B > 6A > TK > 3C > astral luna 3C > 214A > 6A > astral And it does 40k damage now! Looks like the astral itself did not change anything except make it an attack instead of throw so still have the startup before the flash. Some other situations that are more rare. CH 6A [anti-air or ground] > astral 2C [between 1-5 hits in the corner] > astral CH 2C [anti-air] > astral CH 5B or 6B [crouching hit-confirm] > astral 5C > astral (gotta be pretty close) gravity seed [in the corner] > astral 214D~C > 6DD > delay 2DD > 4DD > 22A > 2DD > 4B > 2DD > astral Here are some combos for the new Dia and Luna sharing different SMP for 214D and j.214D. [Dia] 214D~C > 6DD > delay 2DD > 4DD > 22A > 2DD > 4B > delay 2DD > 214D > dashing 5C > 2C > 623C does around 3.3k [Dia][corner] TK j.214D > RC > 3C > 22A > 3C > 214B > dashing 6B > 2C > TK j.214D > 6A > 6C > 236D > 236C > 5C > 2C > 623C does around 4.2k
Ryuujinx Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Instead of CH 6A > Astral, you can confirm it into 3C which is a lot easier of a hit confirm for me. [Dia] CH 6A > 3C > Astral [Luna] CH 6A > 3C > 214A > 6A > Astral
toanenadiz Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 I hate the input change. I now get 6C > 623C instead of 6C > 236C.
minlexx Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 I hate the input change. I now get 6C > 623C instead of 6C > 236C.yeah, that happens sometimes but it's much easier to adjust input to fix this "bug" than before with 623x
toanenadiz Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 I had no issues with the previous input method though. I could consistently hit 623C and never worry about a 236C coming out and vice versa. Now I have to return my pad to neutral before I input 236C. I can deal with it but I never had to do that with Nu/Lambda before so muscle memory gets in the way.
someonewhodied Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 I still have no issues with that. I hate the new 632146 shortcuts though. My 66(321)4(run up barrier)>236D turns into supper too many times.
Speakeasy Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 The half-circle shortcuts are ridiculous. I think I had something stupid like 616D or something and got a super out of it. It may have been training mode just not listing the rest of the inputs or something, though. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
someonewhodied Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Shoutouts to bloodwolf for representing nu in top8 in the brett tourney
BloodWolF Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 You too sir. I left before your later matches. I played horrible and the lag hurt me bad (damn you Jees...lol), but the matches I saw of you were pretty good. How far did you guys end up making it? I had to hit the sack as soon as I lost. I never intended on joining a tourney that day..haha.
someonewhodied Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 We ended up taking second. Jona's wolf too strongth
BloodWolF Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Great job. Valk is always a pain. I don't think we could have taken your team yesterday, honestly. I had to 1v2 all of our matches and I don't think I could have taken you or Nemesis the way I was...even with the mirror match shenanigans that can happen. Well played man.
someonewhodied Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 iunno i played pretty bad. Kept dropping the fundamental combos. You probably coulda beaten me. Why are double spike chaser combos so strict on timing :x
BloodWolF Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Idk. I haven't had a chance at them yet. I've been swamped with work and such. I may try my hand at em tonight after work.
Sadeyo Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 I have a nu-13 video recorded but to embarrassed to upload it. The opponent respected me a little bit too much when my knowledge behind her is so little next to you few. It was up against a Hakumen.
Sadeyo Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Video is now in the critique section, hopefully we're a 'help me help you' type of group or this is going to end up being a rough road. I'm in my comfort zone with Ragna and Bullet and hopefully I plan to reach that form of performance with nu-13 since she's the last to hold my interest in the roster and feels rather comfortable to play and maneuver with. I'll attempt to upload more videos every week and browse all the necessary videos and combos to improve a little bit more quicker.
someonewhodied Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 noticed something. Crescent recovery reduced. in the corner 4B>2147D>236D~22A works on all characters now.
Kimaf Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 It's a good new if you can 236D after the crescent. Nice!!
BloodWolF Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I laughed. Poor Tager. I miss the 236C > 236C > 236C > 236C combos from Extend. Those were always good for a laugh.
ElegantShadow Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 ...Nu has an Unblockable set up... Is it Christmas already? Seriously, if I remember correctly, that wasn't possible before the patch. What changed? Did they make Recovery on Sickle Storm quicker or did they slow down the initial attack? :o
toanenadiz Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 It was possible in 1.0. There was a video against Ragna showcasing a 4D/236D unblockable set-up.
someonewhodied Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 unfortunately against everyone except rachel and tager, you have to be in the corner AND land a luna 4B or dia 3C to set up an unblockable. Its just not worth the risk of putting yourself in the corner. (also for some reason it whiffs on half the cast even then)
Speakeasy Posted June 3, 2014 Posted June 3, 2014 I just noticed the glory and splendor of fully-charged Dia 214D. If they respect it on the ground, you have fullscreen mixup in the form of 4D and 236D. Or run up and grab if that's your thing. However, I'm not quite sure what to do to punish them jumping over it. I usually zip under them and try to cross them up with something, but that rarely works. :C Sent from my SM-T520 using Tapatalk
Ryuujinx Posted June 4, 2014 Posted June 4, 2014 Depending on the angle they try to jump over it, you can force them to block with 6D or 2D and force them back into the 50/50 zoning game. You can also use it to go for a crossup or an ambiguous 2C while you're underneath them.
