ElegantShadow Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Looking at the new moves, it seems what we saw was the j.214[D] version of crescen. So all 3 of our D specials have a regular, [D] and ~C version. Edit: SWD you sort of got your wish; if I'm reading this right we may be able to cancel Spike,Crescent?, Sickle, Supra into Gravity seed. Supra can be done in the air. We can Act Parser out of Spike, Crescent, Sickle and Gravity. Lol so now we can hit someone with a sickle, lay down a gravity and teleport all in one string? I thought Lambda was supposed to be the hit and run character. Canceling things into gravity may be our new Phase Shift/stance change. So, basically, they gave us Nu's Unlimited stuff, in that she can cancel into Act Parser out of any of her Specials? And on top of that, Nu now has three variations on every move? I must say, aside from their Normals and a few Drive Attacks, both Nu and Lambda are looking quite solid, and different from one another. I'm excited for this Nu new! ^_^
AchedSphinx Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Basically, Nu will be really teleporty after this news. Based on the frame data from the current version (they'll probably tweak it a bit) she can cancel Spike into Act Parser and still connect with something like 2C before untech wears off. So she might be able to do really flashy combos like Izayoi with teleports. Also, I'm wondering if Nu's gravity has a hitbox like Lambda's. If not, that would means she can teleport from Gravity, Crescent, Sickle, and Spike on whiff. Anyways, that's just optimistic stuff. Gravity is possible, I don't think the others are. At any rate, Nu looks like she might become a bit more mobile compared to the current version. I can't wait to see her in action.
BloodWolF Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 So far, I'd have to say I'm looking forward to the new Nu. Emphasis on mobility and act parser sounds like it could be pretty damn fun. I always enjoyed Nu's act parsers, so I hope we get some fun combos with it.

They would probably let Lambda keep the Gravity Hit to try differentiate them with as little effort as possible. I'm more curious on what gravity will be like done in the air when it's cancelled from crescent. Air Supra also sounds really wat
BloodWolF Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 I figured allowing gravity to be cancelled out of crescent moves and supra is just to setup for oki. We usually end with knockdowns and either sickle storm or gravity now.
someonewhodied Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Okay, I'm content. Lots of ideas hitting my head. 236[D] will likely be comboable midscreen too.
Errol Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 i'd be surprised if more people were interested in lambda than nu, amongst current nu players. lambda might get the DP gravity though sooooooooooo
No Limitz Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Okay, I'm content. Lots of ideas hitting my head. 236[D] will likely be comboable midscreen too. Well we'll see how generous they are; the start up of 236[D] might make it so we can't combo into it from any simple D hit. Perhaps if 3C still floats the opponent?
zaeris Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 well Im kind of curious on what the split means, I'm hoping its not a splitting of easy and hard mode nu. so would gravity cancel be the new but limited stance change. Limited as in you can't use it in neutral and combo due to gravity meter filling up.
AchedSphinx Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 What does the star/asterisk thing mean beside the numbers?
BloodWolF Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 They are designations. It's harder to see with the English, but it just means those moves are affected. For example, the act parser lists #1 and #2 and "follow up". It's saying you can cancel 6C, certain D moves, #1, or #2 into act parser by pressing 66 or 44.
TL: Using "phase lift", Nu could switch between dia form and luna form while fighting, but switching styles that way ended up being quite difficult, so we split her into Nu and Lambda. There's the confirmation. She was split due to difficulty...that's a shame "加藤 ラムダは、ニューのような遠距離戦が得意なキャラクターを使いたいけど難しすぎるのはちょっ と……という人に向 けたキャラクターにしたかったので、ニューよりも扱いやすくシンプルにな性能に調整しています。一方のニューは、ラムダの登場でフェイスリフトこそ. なってしまいましたが、各種必殺技にタメの要素を追加してあるなどテクニカルな操作は残してあります。" TL: Lambda will excel in long range like Nu, but will be much simpler to play and be much less technical. On the other hand, Nu has been given many new tools and abilities making her very technical to play, even without the phase lift mechanic. Lambda's Crecent will hit overhead and can be used as a crossup. Lambda's chains will be easier. She is supposed to be zoner-lockdown/rushdown Example: If you input 5C > 6C, you can input the 6C any time after the first sword hits from the 5C and as soon as the last sword hits, the 6C will come out. It won't cut the 5C short. He goes more into the input restrictions of Nu's act parsers and cancels..and how if people are not satisfied with Lambda...to play Nu. Nu's 4B removed. To open people up, TK crescent saber cancels will be important at close range. Well, I'm looking forward to Nu more than I was before.
mAc Chaos Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 nu 4b not an overhead wat what is it even going to do also you kind of dropped this sentence halfway through "He goes more into the technicality of Nu's drives and those who"
BloodWolF Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Yeah. I compiled a few posts into that one and shyt got cut short, so I just removed it. Thanks.
No Limitz Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Aww man no 4B overhead? Atleast just turn back into the 2 hit overhead D:

Sounds quite interesting I must say. nu 4b not an overhead wat what is it even going to do also you kind of dropped this sentence halfway through "He goes more into the technicality of Nu's drives and those who" Chances are they will change the proration of her 4B so that it's better to use in combos. Remember 4B used to be something of a launcher back in the P2 92(sometimes p2 100) days. I think the new Nu will revert back to BBCSEX Lambda when it comes to mix-ups and resets. But, of course, it's hard to say until loketests, which aren't too far off. Well, I like how Nu will be more technical at least. It is a shame they removed phrase lift because the difficulty. She did place pretty high in EVO so I thought she was in a good place. Guess I'll use both Lambda and Nu. They don't seem very different.
BloodWolF Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Looks like they just removed 4B entirely on Nu. I misread that. My apologies. Fixed.
AchedSphinx Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Looks like they just removed 4B entirely on Nu. I misread that. My apologies. Fixed. Nu's 4B changed to her 6B right?
BloodWolF Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I remember hearing that. He didn't mention it in the interview, though.
someonewhodied Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 So long as crescent can now be comboed after on even groundhit, I'm fine with 4B removal.
No Limitz Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Nu's 4B changed to her 6B right? That was Lambda wasn't it?
BloodWolF Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I think it's just gone. It may be 6B for Lambda. I am also ok with its removal if Crescent combos.
EOTL Arc Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 Does anyone know yet what air 214[D] or however you notate held crescent saber does?
BloodWolF Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I'm not sure. Perhaps the Luna version of it which lacks a deadzone and ground bounces more?
