I followed the guide explicitly but came on this error. Anyone know what may be causing it?

delete your ggxx.exe file, then look for the ggxx old file and rename that to ggxx.exe, then repatch

It seems like I'm the only one who's gotten this so far, but maybe you can set your patcher/config file to compatibility mode for Win95. It wouldn't patch until I did, and the config file wouldn't save any of my settings. May not help you, but just a thought. (I'm on WinXP)

So now that we have online play, what are people using for controls? I have a PS>USB adapter, but there is an uncomfortable about of lag, but luckily I have a Fighting Stick 3 (PS3 stick with USB port.) However, my windows xp setup will detect this stick but will not seem to react to any button presses or stick movements. I've had it work on one of my friend's PCs with WinXP, but I could not discover any reason why it worked on his and not mine. I started developing a driver just for this reason, but without knowing the root cause of the stick's problem, I probably can't complete it.

hi I have a very stupid problem. When I played I had wrong configuration ;/ for example: I had HS under Dust. (I playing on pad) When I go to training all is great but when I go to vs net config is wrong. ;/ My friend have the same problem. ;/ Maybe someone know what's going on?

Change the controls in the game options and save the game to the HD after you finish. You probably just changed them in the Training menu.

I changed configuration in the games options but I still have it.

Ah yeah I could use the list on the first page, though a lot people aren't on there... though that list is more for my personal conveniece anyway.

Make sure your Player 2 controls are identical to your Player 1 controls via the config.exe. I had this exact problem as well on my first game.

I have no ggxx old file anywhere. I've gone as far as re-installing the game but still get the same results. Maybe i'll just spam the IRC channel. I dunno just I really want this to work.

GG's to Kira-CAN I have the oddest connection, usually it ends up being that I can either challenge people and can connect fine, or they have to challenge me and it'll connect fine. As you found out, if I challenge you, the connection works, but the reverse causes both of us to crash out. So yeah. If I see you on, I'll keep challenging you, feel free to quit out or reset at any time to let me know that you're done playing. There isn't really a better way of communicating in this game. Unless you want to use some other signal like respects, taunts, set the stage, etc. For whatever it's worth, if Potemkin can CH 2HS you out of your jump stuff as Chipp, you're probably leaving too large a gap when you jump. Since you pretty much lose the round if you get hit by it, you'll definitely want to tighten up your pressure. Also, whenever I play someone for the first time, I'll do silly stuff to try and get feel for what I can and can't get away with. Spam away with slide head and empty jump in potbuster, that kinda stuff. When you get right down to it, if it does work on a particular opponent, there's no reason not to keep doing it, until they start punishing it. GG's to the other people I played today. Challenge me Psylocke..., I'm fairly certain if I challenge you, it'll just jam for sure. Might be I can't connect to you at all this version though.

Yeah, there seems to be problems with disconnections at the moment.. says the IRC chatter, anyway. The same thing happened last night, but it cleared up relatively quickly (at least for me).

Does anyone know how to run their own server? The American server is down and playing on the Japanese one is annoying because of the bad ping and random challenges. We need multiple servers or something in case one goes down...
