This lists all the useful Amekyans and other important evasive cancels etc - long overdue, but hopefully this helps some people.

List can be found here: https://sites.google.com/site/unlimitedbrettworks/gundam-extreme-vs/cancels-list

I will probably put them inside the thread as well for ease of viewing later, but for now just use the link above.

Please post in this thread if I'm missing anything.

Tank doesn't have BC listed as a brake cancel even though EZ8 does. Also, Gaia's CSa makes her drop, though not with the movement freedom of other people on the Charge Shot cancel list.

You seem to missing Acguy's BC > main amekyan.

I totally assumed he only had one ame lmao.

Added BC - Gaia's is intentionally excluded, it's a pretty far stretch imo.

You forgot about Duel's A->BC.

Got it - ty.

Alex has an amekyan with her assist.

Sub -> A

You're also able to do this with armor on.

Fixed, thanks.

Forgot to mention it before but GP03 has a landing cancel with BC demolition chain. You get like zero recovery if you drop off the chain right as you land, even in overboost.

So this is one of those things that you don't ever have to learn to own CPUs in the game, and I was trying it out last night, but I feel like I'm wasn't doing it right. I couldn't seem to match the speed and direction that suits could take in the nico videos I watched. To perform this (using an assist example) is it just AC->A with some really quick input timing, or is there a step/boost cancel that is supposed to be input also right before the beam riflle..?

Most players do step -> assist -> a, which is why their momentum shifts before the amekyan. The amekyan itself is just the assist vernier being turned into a falling state without using any more boost.

When you see players doing amekyans with a lot of momentum, there's a high chance it's a slide cancel amekyan. The input for that is pretty much just C > direction+AC.

I don't think it's mentioned in the list, but while off-angle or flying backwards, you can do 28~C > direction + assist cancel (Block ~ Jump then direction + assist). Effect will be an amekyan with momentum towards the direction you inputted, with the benefit that you can do this regardless of the direction you were flying. If done correctly you will not see the shield come out.

Since shield amekyan is a sub category of the amekyan technique, I don't feel the need to make an entire separate section on it. Since the majority of players don't actually utilize this technique, I also haven't really felt pressured to include notes on it. For the record, any suit on the amekyan list that can slide their assist can do a shield amekyan.

Are we going to just say shield amekyans are necessarily slide amekyans, then? Because it's not like you actually need to be able to slide to be able to cancel your block into an amekyan.

If you can't slide cancel it I don't think it's as useful, though I suppose at low altitudes it hardly matters much. It's certainly worth noting which are and aren't slide-able if we're going to mention shield amekyans though.

The Sazabi thread mentions off-angle BR --> bc while assist is up is an amekyan.  Can't confirm since I don't have the game yet :(

Ah whoops, forgot to add that - thanks :)

According to JP wiki, DX can also turnaround freefall its CSa w/BC.

I don't know Japanese, so I'm basing this all on Google translate, but does DX also need to have its assist already out to freefall cancel, similar to Sazabi?

If I recall correctly, the answer is yes.
