legacy49i Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 So I bought the Limited Edition, and the soundtrack is messed up. Let me explain: If you put the disc in a regular CD player, it reads as a single, 73 minute long track of nothing. If I put the disc in my computer, it reads as a data disc with all the music as .wav files, and a single .txt file. Did this happen to anyone else???
mAc Chaos Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Not gameplay ~> goes to Zepp. Maybe someone who is more familiar with the LE can help out.
NeoStrayCat Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Not gameplay ~> goes to Zepp. Maybe someone who is more familiar with the LE can help out. I have the LE and yes, from what I hear, its possibly a data disc (I heard it might be DVD-R or something, even though it says CD audio on the disc), and it might be a mastering error of some sort, and not an Audio CD. But they're are audio files in it or something.
Jason D. Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Yeah, I found this out today trying to listen to the "soundtrack" in the car on my way to work. It is not an audio CD. It SHOULD be, but it's not. It is indeed a data CD (aka CD-ROM) filled with .wav files and a .txt file of the track list. Basically, the tracks on a CD should not be .wav files. (And it most certainly should not contain a .txt file). They should be .cda files. That is what a redbook audio CD will look like, and that encoding is what will allow a CD player to recognize it as a CD. Or to put it simply: They done goofed. There's not been much internet talk about this, but here's what I found so far: http://skullgirls.com/forums/index.php?threads/blazblue.468/page-16 http://www.aksysgames.com/forums/topic/40313 http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/680197-blazblue-chrono-phantasma/68897401 The gamefaqs page in particular has a guy talking a bit more technical about it, which sounds accurate, but I can't confirm as I'm not on expert on this. I definitely do not believe that this was done on purpose, however.
SoWL Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Considering that the CD works just fine in the Japanese LE, I wonder how they managed to mess it up here. I mean, couldn't they just copy the JP data?
Midnight-Zephyr Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Mine won't download into my PS3. Shame, the Extend soundtrack worked just fine. How did this one mess up?
Ryno Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 I'm the guy from GFAQs who explained it. I'm almost certain it was done on purpose, as ASW has released other CDs that are done in the same way (CD-ROM with 24bit 48kHz wav files instead of CD audio.) They did it in a certain printing of Song Accord #2, and the Guilty Gear x Blazblue Live Bonus CD. I doubt they'd screw it up by accident so many times. They probably chose the format because many believe it to be higher quality than CD audio.
Aegis High Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 How many tracks does the japanese version of that CD has?
Ryno Posted April 8, 2014 Posted April 8, 2014 Which one? The CP LE one? 10 songs, like the AMerican one.
