MarkusArx Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Hi, so I was wondering what a good place would be to start really learning this character. I'm decent with Orie, due to how much easier she is to play, but I'd really like to learn Yuzu, and any tips would be very appreciated.
MarshallLawKOF Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 http://www.brokentier.com/blogs/news/14946957-under-night-in-birth-simple-character-guide Watch the videos on yuzu part, it helped me understand her a lot but shes going to take time. also this as well. http://wiki.mizuumi.net/w/Under_Night_In-Birth/Yuzurihahttp://in-birth.wikia.com/wiki/Yuzuriha_(Gameplay) hope it helped :D
Rhiya Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Other big thing for learning Yuzu is just to watch maa-kun. Gotta learn from the best.
Tari Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Be prepared to negative edge. What? Yuzu has no negative edging in her playstyle. Holding buttons down, yes, sliding, yes, negative edging, no. In fact, I don't believe UNIEL has any negative edging in it. (corrected by TD below)
TD Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 It does, actually. Hilda lynchpin and Vatista gems are just two examples.
Tari Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 It does, actually. Hilda lynchpin and Vatista gems are just two examples. Ah, you're right, sorry. Somehow forgot about Hilda pin, Vat crystal, Carmine trap, etc. being negative edge inputs. This is what happens when I don't play this game in too long. Yuzuriha, however, still doesn't have any.
Vlad7779311 Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 What is this? New Yuzu tech? - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQWzJS02pPo
Starrk Posted January 15, 2015 Posted January 15, 2015 What is this? New Yuzu tech? - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fQWzJS02pPo This some kinda glitch? What's going on here? Edit:Ok So I found out it only works with 6A in the air and none of the other j6x normals. So I figure this has to be some kinda glitch. As far as usefulness goes I would call it a gimmick at best. Leaves you in the air for a long time to get anti-aired. Edit 2: I lied, this is great. I did some testing and found something cool. If you do d.C, chain shift yuzu ends up flying back a safe distance. Which can be interrupted at any point by the j.6A. That does the weird thing where it slings you forward and you can vary the timing on if you want to land to the left or right of the opponent. But that's not the best part. After the j.6A cancel out of stance and throw out any air move. Yuzu goes flying across the screen with that normal. It's crazy.
Loli Bacon Posted January 16, 2015 Posted January 16, 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-2HtOl9_Hk I'm more interested in this than that glitch.
Tari Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Found another teleport glitch (sorta), similar to the old 4B one. If Hilda does her aerial sword rain super (j.41236C, I believe?), there's a period of time during it where dodging a sword and cancelling into teleport causes Yuzu's teleports to center on herself. Her A teleport makes her go backwards a small distance, and her C and B teleports cause her to move slightly in front of herself. It's very odd. I can't replicate it with air dodges or non-dodge teleports while the super is happening, nor can I replicate it with other projectile dodges. :|
Vlad7779311 Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Sorry if this was asked, but I don't understand this combo at all: 236B~D>236B (Hold C)>214B>2C>4C>j.5B>j.2C>j.5C>66B>etc My training dummy keeps teching out before I can do the 66B move. Same thing happens if I do j.2C>j.5B.j.5C. What am I doing wrong? The combo is in this video - http://youtu.be/MsbtwwQi7hk?t=6m36s
Starrk Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 You have to buffer the 66B right before you land from the jC. So you also have to time the jB j2C jC so that the jC is close to the ground

Starrk Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 Only a little. Just so that you're doing jC as you're landing. But the most important part is buffering. As you press jC you should already be tapping 66 for the dash B. It's a fast move but you can't just land and then input the move
Starrk Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Man, is anyone else really sad that Unib died out? This was my favorite fighting game and Yuzu is my favorite fighting game character. It's a damn shame this game never got as popular as the other anime fighters despite it being a way better game. Oh well, RIP Unib.
Tari Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Man, is anyone else really sad that Unib died out? This was my favorite fighting game and Yuzu is my favorite fighting game character. It's a damn shame this game never got as popular as the other anime fighters despite it being a way better game. Oh well, RIP Unib.Doesn't seem particularly dead to me. It gets fairly good entrant numbers at all the major tourneys. Netplay is somewhat different of a story, though, and obviously local play depends on where you are. Either way, probably the wrong thread to discuss it in.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Offline play is pretty active, it's netplay that's pretty dead.
DarkChildOfLight Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 How can this game be dead when it just came out two weeks ago?
Starrk Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 How can this game be dead when it just came out two weeks ago? It's been out in America for a couple weeks. But in Japan, and on the Japanese psn, it's been out for about a yearish. Getting a japanese psn account to download the game is actually pretty easy. But I think I was just sad that my scene has died. I got online for the first time in a while and there was actually a pretty good showing. Long live unib. Anyway, sorry for going so far off topic. On topic. I was wondering what you guys do to open up people who like to camp and block everything. I don't like getting up close with yuzu as her close range normals are kinda bad so I usually stay about a 2C's length away or farther. That said it's hard for me to get hits that way on people that play patently. Any ideas? Also, I saw some guy online do something pretty cool. he basically did 6C in the air into either the 6A or 6B into 236Bxx214B for a full combo. If anyone knows what I'm talking about I'd appreciate some clarity on what exactly the confirm is.
Tari Posted March 13, 2015 Posted March 13, 2015 You can confirm any of the short air slashes into j.236B (though j.6A can be height dependent), which pretty much always confirms into j.214B+D for a full combo.I'm assuming it was an air confirm and he didn't land and do 236B into 214BD, which, while possible at certain heights on CH, is really unnecessary. As far as pressure goes, you will have to get in at some point and mix things up. Staying at 2C range will actually really limit your options. Try mixing in some 5B > 5A rebeats, tk j.6C > j.214B pressure resets, and so-on. You'll find that if you do enough stance things, most people eventually get confused and push a button somewhere they really shouldn't.If you really can't open someone up, it's time to start being risky and doing long delays into buttons, throws, assaults, or backdashes. I'll note here that I really dislike Yuzu's backdash for baiting things, as the recovery is slightly too long and the invuln slightly too short, though it remains useful as a defensive tool.
DarkChildOfLight Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Actually you guys are right. This game is dead I can see that now. Sorry I didn't notice because I've only been creating my own player matches so far online. I went to search for other lobbies and there are only ever 2 or 3. And at least one of those will be Japanese. Then I went to play Ranked mode and found zero matches to play. Only two were available which were zero 0 for connection. I don't understand how this game is dead on arrival. Which 2D fighter has an active online right now? I've already played USF4 and Blazblue Calamity Trigger years ago.
MarkusArx Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 Hey, what are some good ways to teach yourself how to move around with Yuzu and her teleports? I have a hard time using them effectively and I can tell it really hurts my Yuzu game.
Tari Posted April 16, 2015 Posted April 16, 2015 There's no short or easy answer to the question of "how do I teleport effectively".This might be strange sounding advice, but if you can, try playing like a nut for a little while. Just mash teleports out and flips and short/long slashes and try to force yourself to do strange things with stance options. While you'll likely not win very many games this way, it should be a decent way to quickly acclimate yourself to her stance options and their uses.Obviously, this assumes that you are familiar with how the stance moves themselves work, of course. In a more limited scope, if you're only wondering about movement, you can try using teleport in places that you might think of backdashing/blocking/jumping/etc. sometimes just to find out how it interacts in those situations.
