spiralfang Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Hey i just decided to pick up eltnum are there any useful bnbs and tips required to learn her properly
HiguraShiki Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Nah, she's fairly easy as far as execution goes. Not as easy as Gordeau, but still fairly easy. Bit late but leme just add to this. When people say she's technical it doesn't mean that she's difficult when it comes to execution. Specifically it means that when it comes to actually playing her, you need to be on point, probably more so than more characters. If you cannot keep good steady pressure then it gets easy to get blown up as Eltnum.
LitchiFayeBling Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 doc says ex dp is 2f startup. well it can't punish merkava's ex noodles (-3 on block) so i dunno bout that.

You can get away with a lot of stuff in pressure, 'cause she has so many tools.
Rsquared Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Decided to mess around with mixup options and discovered this. Don't know if this is new or not, so I'll post it anyway: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NHrWC52Hviw&feature=youtu.be
Wokker Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 Ahh this. Yes, it's quite useful. I do this for dash 5B after a 236C connects. Makes so much easier to get a 5B, instead of a 66B.
stickystaines Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 http://ustream.tv/channel/18369740 Senaru on shinjuku right now. Fuse Master is around as well.
Ichipoo Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 >ustream I guess we won't be seeing these matches on YouTube? Unless someone has been archiving from the start.
Kaori Manabe Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 making this combo vid was necessary https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blNzXPAEbrY
LitchiFayeBling Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 what combo do you do off 6b xx 22b(enhanced)? right now im doing a pretty low damage jump loop off 2c, but i've seen 3c into j[C]
HiguraShiki Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 She's not technical in that way either. You can get away with a lot of stuff in pressure, 'cause she has so many tools. in that case... Damn you UNIEL wiki for lying to me <_<
Tenryuga Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Nah I heard she has a high rate of combo drops over in JPN and the wiki isn't the only source that claims she is high execution. Not gonna lie even Senaru drops some stuff in the vids I see of him. Definitely don't see it as much from other chars unless its like Seth lol. Still I would say she is moderate so far. Perhaps its hitconfirming and as someone said before memorizing these routes you have to do in addition to this that make ppl say shes execution heavy.
Rsquared Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 I made this possible game-breaking setplay tech off 214C. Youtube caused me issues so my pal GreekAngel was kind enough to upload it for me:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_j3m5CSoi0
LitchiFayeBling Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 so 421C is actually quite invincible, and goes into 3800ish damage on most hits. especially on grounded. so yeah you can blow up unsafe cancels and frame traps, and also after chain shifting to see the state of the game. another good use - using it post-flash of merkava's ex noodles, possibly other grounded reversals. Youtube caused me issues so my pal GreekAngel was kind enough to upload it for me:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7_j3m5CSoi0 oh huh. interesting, but you don't get your enhanced bullets back in those combos. although i guess you could do combos that don't use bullets.
Sadeyo Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8C6JoLeiXZs&list=UUSWFwW7yDCCwwajY97IaZ3w My latest video of me in action, I wish took more of everyone's advice but busy schedule as usual and playing off of impulse. I guess my past experience doesn't accumulate much in new games so I need to hit up that training room some more. Review the video for your enjoyment or feel free to critique, I will take all criticism and learn to apply it to my game play.
LitchiFayeBling Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 some notes on the frame data: eltnum's 5a i am pretty sure is 5 frame startup instead of 4f. it cannot punish linne's dash c which is reportedly -4. also, still not sure if eltnum's ex dp is 2f startup. it cannot punish merkava's ex noodle w/o shield (-3 normally) but it may just be that the first hit has very little range.

All the start up frame data is off by 1, so add 1 to everything. 5A is actually 5f, 2A is 6f, 5B is 8f, DP is 5f, EX DP is 3f, etc.
LitchiFayeBling Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 ex dp still gets blocked by merkava after -3 on ex noodles. again probably a range thing if it really is 3f.
NewFace Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 ex dp still gets blocked by merkava after -3 on ex noodles. again probably a range thing if it really is 3f. Seems to be a hitbox thing. You can reversal EX DP Gord 6B, Orie 3C, Yuzu 214B, and Linne 214A which are all supposed to be -3. But you can't reversal DP Hyde d.B, Merkava d.B, Merkava 236C, Chaos 2B and Seth 3B which are also supposed to be -3. Or there is a bunch of bad frame data
Vvvv Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 so question. learning her combos and I see it's recommended to do the j.BC route on Hyde, Hilda, Linne, but why would I ever do this? 2C j.[C] wjA works on them. Am I missing something here? lol

Am I missing something here? lol A starters 6B if it lands. Possibly some other stuff too where itd be more optimal
dualseeker Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 so question. learning her combos and I see it's recommended to do the j.BC route on Hyde, Hilda, Linne, but why would I ever do this? 2C j.[C] wjA works on them. Am I missing something here? lol I think it's because if you use an A move anywhere in the 2C>j.[C] route, it'll drop later on. I'm not entirely sure though. But you are right that it's not a hassle to use that route on Linne, Hyde, or Hilda.
LitchiFayeBling Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 should do jB C route in general if you get 6b 2c or 2a 2a 2a 2c or 2a 2b 2c starter just because it does more damage than doing 6 route but 6 gets you 10 enhanced bullets vs 5 (note you get only 66c 22b 66c. but you can add 22b 66c with enough enhanced bullets or off a stronger starter/ch of course) buuut you probably don't need those 10 enhanced bullets unless you're already in the corner where you're more likely to get another hit directly afterwards so you can do two 22b in the jb c combo no matter the starter. if you get a 2b 2c starter you're supposed to do the j5[C] wjA route, but if you end up doing ground 5[c] you can salvage with jb c
TD Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 probably asked a billion times but please bear with me. bnb's or videos to watch? she is a rushdown character so her gameplan is probably very simple; get in, stay in. so what are her capabilities on the offensive and defensive? last tier ist puts her in a category of her own: A. so she is obviously packing heat (lol) I've heard of a blockstring guide as well? don't worry I will be trying to look for these things, but just in case I miss something important... started trying her out today after being enormously frustrated with this game's defensive mechanics, and the fact the even the most scrubby of gordeau oki is so oppressive... need a dp char to start off with. of all the dp characters she seems the most interesting although I didnt like her too much in melty, she seems a perfect fit for this game and it's mechanics. plus she has a whip, which is a cool weapon to fight with. please any help is appreciated
