Rabbit360 Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 wrong thread for graphical comparisons. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/10005-ps3-vs-ps4-ggxrd-graphicssound-quality-comparison/
Yukikaze Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 like I said different language and difference in hardware, let alone difference in power will have an effect. Personally I dont care if theres 10f delay or 1f its only game. Internet is a different experience for everyone, its far from a constant.
Kane-Z Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 It's official..... After getting the US version of the game and spending the entire day testing with some friends online....... Anyone who has the JP version of the game and is playing here in the US is SCREWED!!!!!!!!!! I spent all day playing the US version and having 2-4F delay, while my JP version was always 12F.......... This angers me greatly, as I just spent hell of alot of money getting the the DLC characters and all the colors for my JP version....... *Please note both US version and JP version that I owned are on PS4* I will be streaming right now, if anyone wants to see it for themselves, I'll show it to you. I can confirm this. I bought the jpn version and after the patch I been getting 12 frames delays even with other players from the West Coast here in NA. Hopefully this issue will be solved soon.
karl972 Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 i hope it can be solved with a little patch with leo today...i hope
DrBread Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Don't buy a new version of the game. I'm sure this problem will be patched eventually. Just find people that you don't get the 12f delay for now. Its just a waste of money otherwise. Also please no console wars here, this page is about helping with the input delay. Plus before the recent patch both Consol's were getting good connections with each other so I doubt hardware has anything to do with it.
Drekko Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 I honestly don't believe it's the Leo patch that's causing the problem, but it might be. Personally, I believe it's a matter of the Server list that is inside the network code for the game, doesn't have all the Servers listed inside of it. So the Network code is trying to determine which is the closes Server to you and it's picking a server outside our region. This would make more sense to me than a patch mismatch, but we will find out today, as both versions should be on patch 1.02. The only reason why I have a second copy of the game is because I pre-ordererd the LE version and fully paid it, and Aksys delayed the LE to long for my taste, so I ended up getting the Digital JP version on JP launch day. I wasn't even planning on opening my LE version, but it's a good thing I did though, as I wouldn't of found out about the issue.
kekmasterflex Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Alright, I can confirm that JP Xrd <-> NA Xrd is a problem for me and a friend on PS3. He gets 2F, says it feels and plays like 2F and I am stuck at 6F and it absolutely feels like 6F. It wouldn't surprise me if people who are normally 4F are getting stuck with the cap which appears to be 12F and also are on the Leo patched JP version. I did get a patch when Leo came out and I do have the new player match custom room invite key which is only available in the new JP Leo patch. My friend does not have this option so he does not have the patch. My suspicion at this point is that anybody who has the JP version of Xrd and has the JP Leo patch will experience very high frame delays in netplay versus the NA/EN pre-Leo patch Xrd versions. The NA/EN version should get the Leo patch soon I think. It would be good if they required each player to be on the same patch version of the game before they could matchmake. Come to think of it, there are gameplay changes in the Leo patch but if the NA/EN players don't have it, they should experience a desync or other bad stuff if replicated. Anybody else able to confirm/deny? Edit* NA/EN content schedule/ patch tomorrow: http://www.aksysgames.com/2014/12/16/guilty-gear-xrd-sign-release-day-announcement/ Issues will probably be gone when NA/EN is patched up. Might just be me, but there is nothing in that note about netplay patch or anything, and from what i gather the netplay patch MAY be given to us later in the week supposedly *see Akselzys post http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=944719&page=71
Killnetic Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 The JP version got a patch around the time Leo showed up. I am referring to that patch. I have no idea if EN gets that patch today.
Grimsley-San Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 I don't know what the fus is about the 12F delay thing people are getting mad about, looks fine for me (this was with a JP player)
Rabbit360 Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 I guess it makes sense to assume they were running the JP version. Did you patch to 1.02 already? I just downloaded the patch now for NA.
Grimsley-San Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 I guess it makes sense to assume they were running the JP version. Did you patch to 1.02 already? I just downloaded the patch now for NA. Yeah, I just did, someone in the New England world lobby chat said the update was out. (shout outs to that person)
alucard19 Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 The newest patch made the netcoding alot better. 3-4 frames of delay max and it feels smooth, not choppy and slow!
StrawberryGL Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Last night before the patch I was being paired up with Japanese people constantly and had back to back 2f delay with them, which really doesn't make any sense. They couldn't block anything, a few of them even gave up halfway through, i'm pretty sure the lag was horrendous on their end but somehow mine was perfect. I hope the patch fixes this.
zerosoulreaver Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 I did some testing last night and for some odd reason I get godlike connections to people in New England and Mid Atlantic. I have no clue how or why but I was in a lobby for Mid-Atlantic for 4-5 hours with 2-3F lag which felt like absolutely no lag or input delay. I did notice that everyone was PS3 though and when one person who had PS4 played me it read 12F lag and have some small but very noticeable input lag. I think that cross play might be part of the issue but not sure. I have no clue what changed or why it's like this but now I know what lobbies to play in from now on. I will also be testing out some more with PS4-PS3 connection just to see how it goes or if anything changed. One major thing I did notice when playing PS4 people is it felt like they had no input delay but I did...meaning they were playing just fine but I wasn't. However it could have been the character, I mean they had Sol and were hitting combos on me but I could barely move.
karl972 Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 i already use ggxrd jp version.. and never see more 1 bar with american player... before leo was out , i have 3/4 bar and 2/4 fr delay with the same place..now 8 fr only.. there is a bug with jp and us version?
D.R.F. Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Man I've played ppl with 3 bar connections that spiked up to like 19 delay. Then i played someone with a 1 bar and had 4-7 delay. This taught me that I just had to pray in God's Gift for better connection
Sanger Zonvolt Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Yeah anyone on the Japan version will experience higher delay than those on the US version. I get 6-7f while my opponent on the US version gets 2-3f. I really hope 1.03 fixes this.
DrBread Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 Please note that your connection will not always match your opponents, and some cases one will have the advantage over the other. If you want to tell us about your connection, please inform us of the system your on and the version of the game (JP, NA, etc.) Also try to find out the same information about your opponent. I would like to add that things like delay spikes, ppl who start at 4-5 but often spike to 19 is most likely packet loss from wireless connections, or somebody is over using their bandwidth (ie downloading torrents)
OmegaDivider Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Well, just wanted to add that... I did a whole one match tonight and at times it was at 1f Delay (very, very shortly) and stabilized at around 2. This patch seemed to have helped. The other player had like...the highest possible connection to me though so it was probably a poor test anyway. I'll check more things out after Christmas things on Friday though.
Drekko Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 Well, I have tested the game, the patch has helped alot, but still not at a playable lvl.
Uncivilized Elk Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 I think people forgot the definition of playable a long time ago...
Dude Butts Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 honestly this game was just not meant for netplay
Drekko Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 Patch 1.03 just got release, too bad PSN is down
Drekko Posted December 26, 2014 Posted December 26, 2014 honestly this game was just not meant for netplay I wouldn't say that.... I would say it's meant for region specific netplay.....
