Cadenza Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Not just a Japanese player listing thread but also a collection of of each player's videos. Could probably use this thread as a general japanese player/video discussion thread too? Regardless, this thread should also help search for videos as I'll post their names in both english and japanese. The point is to gather every worthwhile video and player, so let's level this shit up! Alphabetized & Romanized Litchi Player List. Ekisuu (Rachel)
Cadenza Posted May 8, 2009 Author Posted May 8, 2009 Reserved. WIP. Haven't kept up too much past few months. Feel free to add names and videos at any time. Does Bleed still play?
Cadenza Posted May 8, 2009 Author Posted May 8, 2009 Yeah, it's going to take a while but I'll translate and post most matches soon. Though most of them seem to be まなかん, so that makes things easier for me.
Goldenrody Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 Momoichi ももいち Mainly plays in the TRF BlazBlue ranbats, uses the pink palette. Since the TRF videos don't have player names labeled it'll be hard to search for videos of him. Basically, if you see a pink Litchi beating people in these links, it's probably him http://www.nicovideo.jp/search/%E3%83%96%E3%83%AC%E3%82%A4%E3%83%96%E3%83%AB%E3%83%BC+trf http://www.nicovideo.jp/mylist/11628752 DIE-chan DIEちゃん Was in a couple of videos, pretty well known player from GG

Diveman Posted May 8, 2009 Posted May 8, 2009 oh you beated me cadenza, I was gonna create a thread like this too. Anyway, Im going to look for every litchi video I can find and post it here. I can also upload them to my youtube account if you want
Goldenrody Posted May 14, 2009 Posted May 14, 2009 Shonen's Litchi is pretty good in newest a-cho matches. For those that don't like .asx or don't have a program to download the original .wmvs from the site, I also upped the vids on my youtube acct Himajin(Bang) vs. Yuno(Taokaka), Shonen(Litchi) vs. Sawa(Rachel), Shonen(Litchi) vs. Sorashido(Noel), Shonen(Litchi) vs. Hiroyuki(Taokaka) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiCm6pdeezY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLkwAVFTT_U Kakyuu(Rachel), Setsuna(Ragna), Himajin(Bang) vs. Shonen(Litchi), Smiley(Rachel), Kogatan(Jin) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zkoh7wLP8K0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=er2RajF6nCM

Diveman Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 I posted this on the Tager thread, but since the hulk tager teamed up with a very good zombie litchi, I decided to post the vids here too, enjoy http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm7215776 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm7215852 2 more with a green and a zombie litchi: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm7143409 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm7144043
Diveman Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Here you have the magic words for searching Litchi vids on Nicovideo: ライチ ブレイブル link: Litchi
Lord Knight Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Lol look at the first page. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm7311848 - Manakan in the first match, looking like he stepped his shit up. J7C ender is really nice, now it makes sense to me haha. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm7297774 - 木村 Litchi from alpha station. Hopefully they upload more .
Most Unknown Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I juss watched that MASA8 vs Ueka. I noticed that he uses the Auto Guard alot more the Manakan does. (Which that could have changed cuz I haven't seen the most recent Manakan vids) But his Litchi is up there.
Lord Knight Posted June 14, 2009 Posted June 14, 2009 It's not that he uses itsuu guard stance more than Manakan, it's that the guard point helps deal with Rachel zoning. Eat the pumpkin, then stop her advance with B. Even on block you can cover yourself with 5D/shishin/kote if they are scared/whatever.
Chun Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Since this isn't just a Japanese Player listing I thought I'd up some of my own. I miss the 6C after string (Not always safe), but besides that these tourney matches I'm in are half serious half experimental at the time. I was mixing rekkas into it as well because two of the three people play me enough to know my basics. Let me know what you see. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTyUBGTJ8Ic Playing against a good Ragna; note which moves are stuffed easily, what can be punished when it looks safe. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAa-vF0BEMk Carl match, note weight class differences and how it effected my normal strings (Also tactic is to run the hell away from that thing). Also usage of autoblock stance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wk89-gjNhDw Playing against a relatively fresh/new Ragna, mostly note some normals that stuff her moves and this match is the only time I didn't drop my chains as much. ~Chun
Lord Knight Posted June 17, 2009 Posted June 17, 2009 Only watched the first one, maybe will edit with personal comments on the other two later: 0:24 - Funky spacing, if you want to CH Ragna, your normal needs to be already out, not on it's way. 0:27 - Whoops, I forget about getting airthrown too sometimes. 0:30 - falling down on Ragna in corner - bad idea. J2D will clash/win vs 6A anti-air if you want to risk it. 0:47 - Throw into itsuuA! Get that DAMAGE. 0:50 - Ragna is relaunchable with 5C, keeps shit more stable. 1:21 - airdash back airthrow, lol. JB air to ground, JC air to air. 1:34 - I'm surprised that worked. Try to make it a habit to do [D] until they land on the ground from JC since it's considered untechable (by this game's standards, at least). In this situation I would've done DP dash 6C 5C JB dj JCD falling JC staff2 6C tsubame into w/e ender. 1:42 - Again, 5C Ragna otg. 3:12 - triple 6C combo kind of unstable, you can do haku > tsubame > ender (though it does less damage). 3:24 - Generally after whiffing, especially vs chars like Ragna, SJ, double SJ, JD (sometimes you can use kote to stall if they try to airthrow or whatever), then fall down with an aerial to mess with their timing. This helps with people who like to airthrow a lot too. 3:34 - Try not to just chun without being covered by the staff. Also TK chun is better than chun in practically every situation. 3:45 - that was definately a tsubame lol. 3:54 - if you sj j5D, you can kote/launch before you land. Timing is a bit tough though. Overall you played ok, but it doesn't seem you know the character too well. Your spacing is kind of weak (the airdash JB's nowhere near him). You didn't do too good a job of maximizing damage and you have to hitconfirm better as well. Also when you airdashed in you normally did JB and nothing else, if that was IB'd you could've gotten owned really hard.
Chun Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 As I stated before, half of these were experimental. The first match was, if anything, a match between myself and a guy I play very often to the point where I was using some options to randomize. Also, stance A into the throw? Why would you throw out of the corner? It's hard enough getting Ragna into it, I find the tradeoff much better than just raw damage. but it doesn't seem you know the character too well. I'm actually offended by this. Who are you to tell me I don't know what I'm doing? I posted my videos to get opinions on some of the options I used, not to be lectured about what I need to study (I've played since its release, following Nico Matches as you have) like I've never played this character before or done any research. But I suppose that's my fault for not being clearer. I appreciate all the observations and time you're putting in to critique me, but I want to hear your take on the approaches/attacks, NOT my own attack flow. This was a casual tournament and I was aggressive to test some options. ~Chun
Lord Knight Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 Forward throw can combo into itsuuA if you do it after the first hit. I didn't see much in the way of "new options", the stuff you were trying was either just unsafe, or would be safe, but you didn't have staff on the screen for cover. Most of the attack strings were still standard Litchi fare. The corner Chun shit is cool and it's something I wanted to try to add to my game myself. Some of the itsuuB stuff was nice, but again, you didn't really follow up with anything, and it's not really supposed to be used for normals in the first place.
Chun Posted June 18, 2009 Posted June 18, 2009 In that particular match I tested a 50/50 make or break approach to Ragna, doing either Rekka C or Rekka A. Reason being the Chun bounce was much more versatile that I originally thought, and equally paid for itself in damage and setting up. Besides the 5B carry there is also the possibility of the Rekka A into another C then B for "daisangen" which provides more carry into corner, while stuffing IAD approaches.
Zenmetsu Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 Hey Chun. I watched your all vids. I hear Checkerpatch in the background. I can hear that dude from anywhere, haha. I took into consideration that you were experimenting while you were playing these matches. I noticed throughout all your matches that you were throwing out a lot of random staffless 236C. If you want to throw it out raw then I suggest you only do it when you have 50% heat; and moreover, throw it out with the intent of RCing it. As you may know, that move is obviously unsafe on block. It's not hard to block either. Consciously be aware of what you are getting yourself into when you use raw 236C, and what I mean by that is you gotta hit confirm it. If it connects, then great. But in the event that it gets blocked you need to RC it right away, which will not only make the move safe but also gives you the added benefit of extending pressure. In some of your matches you had enough meter to RC (sometimes even 100%) after a blocked Chun but you didn't do it and ate a punisher. I think the second thing I saw a lot of was staffless 63214B. This is just personal preference, but I don't like to use this move when the opponent is up and about and in your face. If the opponent is on the other side of the screen without a projectile or if they are in some kind of recovery state then it's fair game. But there's a lot of startup to get this move active and I saw you using it in many high-risk, low-reward situations. All I can say is to use 63214B sparingly and to find other options that you could be doing instead. Anyway, I suggest you isolate and work on these two points of interest first.
Kenny tuty Posted June 19, 2009 Posted June 19, 2009 >>Chun I watched the first video. 1. Against ragna, standing A will be really useful. it'll beat ragna's 5B. so then you don't have to jump around so much against ragna who has anti air 6A. 2. The best damage combo starts out from DP in corner will be DP-JB-JC~. Also seems like you didn't figure out the distance that DP's second hit won't hit them. when it's too close, you should use JB-JC, or back step shishin. 3. in corner, 4 throw-ittsuA-lowair 236C-2C-JB-JC-JC~ will be big damage with keeping corner option. you should try that as well. 4. I personally think ~DP-JC-421D-jump-JD is pretty good option for corner pressure. the opposite option, DP-JC-421D-JC will bring us pretty good damage and set up as well. and others are simply miss combo selections and accuracy of execution.
