  1. Now that's just hype. I do hope that they aren't console DLC though, I'd hate for them to be included in the arcade version for free, but have to be bought on consoles. I'm very excited to see more playable characters though, I think they're going to make a fantastic addition. Also, did I misread that, or is there going to be two different playable versions of Labrys? (Normal and Shadow)

  4. GGs to Axis, Shin, Mucky and Sayuri. Axis, how did I do? I KNOW that you can point some things out for me to work on.
  5. Xiba didn't even need nerfs. He wasn't a difficult character to beat in the least, people just couldn't handle him because they're reckless and inpatient. I'll take my Ivy and Viola buffs though, so sexy.
  6. 6A/2C his chain approach, but don't be predictable with it, because he can still block after a chain dash. Frame traps are really strong, unless he has meter. Don't get crazy with jump ins. Approach with 5B and 2B, 2B is quite good against him. Bombs and Missiles are fantastic ways to shut down his approach options, and turning the match momentum around in your favor. Cat Mace is incredible against his chains, if you can bait his zoning, j.D will hit him straight out of the dash, and you'll be safe if you do it late enough for him to block. You can get a little more crazy with pressure vs. Hazama then you can against someone like Ragna and Jin, because he has less answers to get out of pressure. However, he does still have a DP of sorts, so be careful. And if he has meter, DO NOT go for crazy mixups. In the corner, watch out for his option selects using Hotenjin. Don't mash on wake up, he's got good meaty setups.

  9. "People have CoD or MK9 if they want to play with their IRL friends on XBL." That is one of the most moronic things I've heard in this thread yet. What if they don't like either of those games, and both of them play this game? It was an advertised feature that didn't get finished and Xbox players now lost one of the features they bought the game for. And then were lied to about it not being able to work, despite the fact that other games are already able to do it. They have every right to complain because Capcom screwed them over. To make matters worse, the PS3 version has this ability, as it was advertised for BOTH systems.

  13. Gordeau looks AWESOME, Carmine as well, but I hate all the red on him. I wish Orie was a little more interesting though, I like her design the best out of the characters shown so far, but her play style looks way too stiff. I'm waiting to see the samurai girl's fighting style now, before choosing who I'll learn when the PC port comes out.

Whenever you pressure Ragna make sure you keep it safe as well, he has one of the strongest defensive games in the cast, so you can't go crazy on him like you can on someone like Lambda or Tsubaki. Use lots of frame traps and safe, repeatable pressure whenever your on offense, and if you're going for mixups, make sure they've been trained to respect it. Like the others have said, you have to be patient, look for openings and learn how to use your pokes correctly, as they are vital to this matchup.

  17. Good stuff, Cirno. But you might want to add some information on jump cancelable burst baits. Like: 5A > j.Barrier 6A > j.Barrier 5C > j.Barrier 6C > dj.Barrier j.A > dj.Barrier j.B > dj.Barrier j.C > dj.Barrier

  19. I got to play this for just a few minutes today. I was on a small, SD TV, I had an Xbox controller (Which sucks, I hate those things, everything was messed up) and I was only able to play for a few minutes. During the time I got to play, I had a lot of fun, however, I did nothing with the Gems. So I basically feel the same, I knew the core gameplay would be fantastic, which it is, but I'm still turned off by the Gem system. However, I'm now considering getting the game, but only after it develops a little more.

  22. It's not a tech trap, but a setup for safe mixups. Most people try to jump away from bombs, making them free to lows, and others try to stand block them because they think Platinum will be approaching from the air. So running up and doing a low can normally catch most players, and sometimes you will hit them out of the beginning part of their jump frames with 2B, but this only works if you can catch them as fast as possible after a knock down. These mixups are probably the best uses for her bombs, aside from stopping air dashers.
  23. The first combo involves a TK Chun, so the second Chun needs to be the air version. For 5D > Chun > Staff 2 > 6D in the corner, you need to wait for them to fall slightly, hold D for just a second, input 236C and release D when your doing the input for 236C.
  24. It's a hard matchup, the main focus is poking and hit-confirming as much as possible. Stay on the ground as much as you can as well, because his 6A beats Plat's jump-ins clean. And no, she does not, item toss makes the opponent fly across the screen.
  25. Man guys, you're really jumping to conclusions today. Mitsuru, Chie and Kanji are dominating right now because they seem relatively easy to use, not because they are strong characters. Aigis is most likely a very difficult character, which is why she's probably not winning many matches right now. I do agree that combos and general gameplay seem a bit lacking, however, this is a brand new game, and unlike BB and GG, no one has anything to base their combo ideas off of. Although, I was expected things to be found out quicker myself, it's understandable why no one has found much yet.
