  1. Hmmm...Are there any characters in CT that could be used as practice for the new characters in CS? I have a feeling that a Jin player wouldn't take too much time adjusting to play as Hazama, but I have no idea about Tsubaki.
  2. As sad as it sounds, this is the leading strategy. Hazama has almost nothing on Tager except his drive.
  3. Well we all know Arc Sys works hasn't been one to worry about gender...
  4. Well honestly, considering that he uses knifes I expected his reach to be pretty low. The hop on the other hand...ugh. Just like Haku-men... does he get invinciblity with his back dash?
  5. What he means is (or what I think he means) is that because of the lesser damage most of the cast does now, Soul Eater has less to heal and therefore more effective because of it. Soul Eater effects were weak in CT because a single combo did more damage than it could start to make up for. While the same can be said about CS, the damage is still noticeably lower, and Soul Eater can actually start to heal effectively (or more effectively than CT at any rate) , somewhat thanks to the set healing values that is given to Soul Eater in CS. To put it simple. Less Damage = More Useful Soul Eater/ Happy Ragna
  6. Just from videos? Fast, but not foot-wise. His drive can pull him towards his enemy or knock his enemy away, along with doing damage. From what I've seen in Zakiyama vids, his biggest strength comes from his air combos (relentless onslaughts of knife blows aided and abetted by his drive) and his distortion drive Jayoku Houtenjin (Very useful under pressure, invincible on start-up, and, unless its IB'd, you're almost assured to knock your enemy sky high). I'm probably doing him little justice here, but that's the basics so far.
  7. Ragna will get a set amount of health, but no it won't be enough to take more than a few pokes, let alone a combo. His drive is more or less a way to extend his short life. If you use it well, it makes up for the fact that his health is lower than most characters.
  8. Look at it this way. If we're getting beat by the character we're trolling about, what does that say about us?
  9. Consider the fact that the clothing for most of the characters can double as parachutes.
  10. At this point it kinda runs me as common sense when a single distortion gets rid of half your health and special gets rid of a third. With my newest discovery of air combos (thank you by the way), I don't fear him as much anymore. That said, I never attempt to attack Tager unless its a counter, in which I pummel the bastard with everything I can before scuttling away. I've been on the receiving end of far to many atomic collider combos for me to just feel safe enough to try and start a combo on a defensive Tager. But that might be because of my scrub use of Hell's Fang... That said, Tager's tend to be a bit more active in attacking after taking damage. Well at least that's what I've noticed.
  11. .............. I'm gonna have to print this off...
  12. One thing I've learned against Carl is that Gauntlet Hades (and its counter part TKGH) seems to work WAY TOO OFTEN against Carl on defense. Every Carl I've played (and I've played my fair share), almost always seems to be unable to block GH, because they usually assume to go to low guard. Throw in a few in match and see what I mean, but note the keywords USUALLY and ALMOST Oh and as for the Clap Loop, sometimes I just get plain lucky and manage to j.B. my way out of it, but that only happens occasionally on lower level Carls. Otherwise, probably better just Burst out and hope to god you don't get caught again.
  13. Ah sorry. What I meant to say was using 5b as a counter. Good speed and range and easy to lead into combos. Puts over-eager Tagers back on defense. If only as a defensive attack, 5b is at the top of my charts against Tager. Actually stopped a 720 with 5b, but that was purely lucky...
  14. j.C. It is godly against Tager. 5B is good for its range. Big thing about Tager is to keep distance. NO HELLS FANG. It may not say much, but in my experience Hell's Fang has never yielded good results when fighting Tager. Curse Ragna having such low health. 360 so easily turns the tide of battle that I actually hit myself for it.
  15. Yeah I was wondering about that. It did sound like a nerf to me at first but it was like "wait a minute...". So it heals a set amount even with damage scaling?
  16. Aw. No more Joker...
  17. Sadly I really don't. Just another thing to practice huh?
  18. True. I guess its better to call it "safer dash", because me just taking little steps before I get the dash going isn't safe or effective for combos. *feels like a complete noob right now*
  19. You know I was expecting a response like this, and I still laughed. In response: 1. I use Hell's Fang as a safe dash, seeing as I still have issues with dashing. It started to become second instinct. I really had no idea I was using it that much. 2. I have been practicing air combos and such, but my Haku-Men ways are starting to interfere here. I only use j.B though I know that j.C. is pretty damn dangerous in itself. 3. Right now I'm still trying to learn effective combos. More often than not, I end up having to go Blood Kain and spamming all his D techniques for a quick kill. One combo I've been trying is one I keep seeing from other Ragnas. 6A -> j.C -> j.D -> 623C -> 236C -> 236C. I'm sure its longer than that, but that's the most I've felt comfortable to do before. And I'm sorry that was such a pain to you. I appreciate the critique though so thank you. P.S. I'll try.
  20. *looks around* Okay. Probably a bit too early to tell, but I'm assuming since Hazama has his own Boss theme (not to mention his own Azure Grimoire) that he's going to have an Unlimited State. I wonder how that's going to be like. All I know is if it's any worse than Ragna's Unlimited, I might actually cry.
  21. I knew as soon as I started playing that Ragna would be the character I used most. Eventually I started picking other characters just to see if I could adapt to them, but I always kept coming back to Ragna anyway. The closest one to being mained besides him was Hakumen, but that's because he's a ****ing badass.
