There wasn't really any Liz presence in the qualifiers, unfortunately. But yeah, pay special attention to spacing and movement -- resets and tech are all fantastic, but the difference between a good Liz and a great Liz is where she is on the screen.
I think her tick throw game is a little underlooked to be honest. But to be fair getting that close with Liz - you really have to know what you're doing.
Liz is pretty solid in my opinion! Her mixups are on the weak side (especially midscreen, she's scary if she corners you) -- and I think a lot of American/Netplay Liz kind of ride on this.
But her neutral game isn't really that bad! And her damage conversion + resets are really solid. If you think her mixups are strong though your opponents aren't playing defense well enough.
Anyways her main flaws are just low health and meh defense. If her full screen "mixup" was actually unreactable she would definitely be top tier. But as it stands she has to spend meter to really mix it up.
WAIT are you coming to the upcoming TN tourney Kyle? :DDD
Actually, I'm not 100% sure about midscreen but 236A236A does combo in to 214D.
At least in the corner I will occasionally use xx5B 5C 2B 2C 5B 236A~236A 214D 236236D to kill low health opponents.
Someone bring a laptop!
I also still play IAMP and EFZ(whenever I can) -- if someone wants to play some other poverty like Blitzkampf I would need to refresh myself but I can play that too.
Hey bud, I'm not sure if we played at AWA - but the scene here I'm Georgia is a lot more healthy than this thread implies! I'll bug Chris to let you into the group. Paul and I are hosting some casuals this Saturday in Marietta, and there's always games on Friday nights after around 8:30 at Georgia Tech.
I am so hungry for this you guys have no idea.
Also both the best players in Georgia play Chie I'll have to pick up another char for the team tournament.
ahhhh I dunno if I would ever willingly give up midscreen oki for 236a > 236a ender.
But that ender is way better than dragon kick if you find yourself over committed to a combo that you can't end with sweep. (5B 5C etc)
If you accidentally confirm a combo midscreen in to 5c, or into 236a - usually you can't get a sweep ender. But 236a236a isn't a bad ender either. (236a236b on crouchers lets you setup tomoe) -- with a skullcracker ender I usually just dash forward and either jab or 5c their airtech.
