Vsav is a blast Bzzz bzz
-
5aaa>236b will build you a LOT more meter(and some burst gauge) for one also the knockdown is a little further away on standing opponents so if your opponent immediately techs and doesn't instant block they'll barely have to block tomoe at all.

play qb she's fair

I'm in there. Just need to talk to GA about rides/rooms but that stuff is easy. -
Hey Larry! Sorry I haven't gotten around to pre registering yet. I'm pretty excited snout the possibility of a VSAV tournament! Would it be on the console release that's coming right before FR? Anyways I'm going to register for P4 and Melty as soon as I get home!

Most 2Bs have "head invulnerability" for certain frames. jC doesn't care about these moves.

It's not that their meaningless, it's just they're a sum of opinions. One matchup might read "6:4" but maybe 3-4 players think it's 7:3 and one player thinks it's 4:6. You won't know anything about why unless you play it and discuss it. Is it okay for people who aren't playing Guilty Gear seriously to make comments on its balance then? There have been a few remarks like that which you've dismissed pretty readily. Most games I've played have had autoguard, I'd say it's weirder to have it than not to have it. To me, mashing out 623a during pressure is no different from pressing b+d. With how strong offense is in p4a I'm glad defensive options are "easy" enough for everyone to use. Also there are ways to bait Yosuke counter while not giving up pressure or risking getting hit. It's a good somewhat reliable move, but it can still be safejumped/triggered rising/crossed up and the risk reward is usually upwards of 8:1. If you want to argue that Labrys is terrible then you won't get any argument here, but there are a dozen other characters in the game. Hama- is an incredibly strong player himself, as well. I'll refrain from commenting on gear, but I'm sure if you pit the best Anji against the best Axl, the Anji would struggle in that game as well. Just because you didn't know who I was until late last year doesn't make me inexperienced.

I don't know about matchup numbers, but there are only 5 matchups in the whole game I'd tell someone "you should probably pick another character" -- that's not to say these are the only bad matchups, but outside of this I'd argue that the game is more on the balanced side than not. Shadow Labrys/Aigis > Yukiko Chie > Labrys Mitsuru > Elizabeth Teddie > Naoto And again, people's opinions are generally formed around their own experiences. Having played and watched the game across the US, I do feel it is generally balanced. As for... "Guilty gear is way more balanced it only has 6.5:3.5 matchups not 7:3's like that persona game!" -- I just want to say that the difference between "6.5:3.5" and "7:3" is some relatively esoteric half a point of "matchup" that doesn't really make any sense.

2 yosukes on your team wtf, that is hella rigged for netplay
-
I don't really know who you're talking to lol I don't think a single person on the thread has tried to imply that chie vs labrys isn't god awful for labrys. Opinions are shaped by experiences, you've played with (imo) 2 of the best Chies in the US, not everyone has done that.

lol ayashii getting hella ntr'd right now can't even decide who to pick between all his tears

[redacted] i'm just gonna drop this shit

Thanks Volpe, I'll watch and make any comments. Maybe I'll be convinced "this matchup isn't as bad as I thought" or "bace is really strong(from what I've heard this is true regardless)" or i might just think people aren't exploiting liz enough. I dunno. If Star wants MU specific critique I'll probably have something to add, but getting critical on someone who isn't really interested is pretty lame. Lost Soul is a buddy of mine so I'll prob go talk to him about the MU too.

Save the archives, I'm doing laundry right now but I can probably look at it later

Well, I wouldn't be afraid to counterpick my Mitsuru against any Liz, if my Chie didn't work out. By your definition of winning a major tournament solo, no I don't think she's competitively viable. It might still happen, but I would be genuinely surprised. If I heard a Liz player who picked chie/yosuke/naoto/slab w/e vs Mitsuru won, I would be less surprised. Edit: shoutouts to Jackie's outlook being reasonable despite his play style being completely unreasonable. I'd like to think I try to keep things from getting too heated talking about this stuff, I'm not going to egg on Star, even if he said the matchup was Liz favor, I would just be more curious to talk about tools. The truth is most Mits and most Liz players could definitely still improve at the matchup. So it's probably a little soon to talk about "endgame"
-
I can't even find where I said that. Well I don't think that Liz has any other matchups that demand a counterpick, but competitively viable characters and even top tier chars have had shitty matchups in the past(SF especially) You COULD win the matchup with Liz, and I would certainly encourage everyone to try, but on the other hand I think the matchup more or less revolves around Mitsuru making a mistake - which isn't something that needs to happen. In the end, each player has to make their own decision though. I'm of the opinion that we won't see any Liz winning majors without a pocket char for the Mits matchup. I look forward to my Mitsuru's impending death. On Shadow Labrys: Teddie is pretty bad for her, but it's not unwinnable. Some other chars might be annoying, but I don't think she has any other real problem matches. Chie does have some strong tools against her, but also has some of the worst defense against her setups.
-
I really do think that matchup is super ass. (Liz vs Mitsuru) That's not to say it's unwinnable, since Liz still shells out tons of damage. I've beaten every Liz player I've played with my Mitsuru fairly convincingly, and I don't think my mits is anything special. I just play abusively and stay solid on defense. I'm not going to pitch a number, but I think it's definitely bad enough that I would tell any serious Liz player to counterpick that matchup.

SKD is going to lynch me

SkeletalMinion, Eshi, Reptar, and myself will see you all in about 7 hours~

Improving at fg comes in big leaps and bounds honestly. Break your seals~ And I'd play.a Mitsuru vs Liz MM if you like. Mits is pretty easy but she's not entirely braindead... that matchup is really dumb though.

I bet Jackie's car has a trunk.

ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NOTE I CANT WAIT FOR SATURDAY. IM GOING TO TRY TO BRING PEOPLE.

Milln it's true that reaction speed is faster than 18f(average reaction speeds are closer to 13f, and your number would maybe be the top 1 percentile... Probably less). But reacting to "something is happening there are no wrong answers" and "something is happening, make a correct guess out of the following 3 choices" are very different things Why do people get hit by 20+f overheads if they can react in 8f? You asked a very good question

Also is there not actually a tournament this weekend? I was looking for a thread or a post about it but I don't see anything :X And my problem with UNIB has more to do with the fact that the normals are huge and the stages are tiny :X I'd still play it some though, and I really hope it develops in to something I want to play. (Good example of this is skullgirls, I bought it even though I hated a lot of the stuff in the original version, but I really want to see a skullgirls2)
