It probably does, but not only do you have to guess whether they're going to hit high or low, but it also loses to projectiles and throws, which just happen to be the best oki options for the characters I faced (Sadira, Kan-Ra and another Hisako). I guess it could work against characters like Saber or Combo, but they have an easier time mixing you up right after wake-up.

Speaking of shortcuts, don't forget that you jump by pressing a separate button, which means that you can use such inputs as 896 for your moves. Moreover, you can go both directions with conventional inputs, such as 632 rather than 236. And then there is the simple stuff, such as tapping a single direction twice or pressing opposite directions. Those inputs alone give you 18 different combinations, and there aren't that many characters who need more.

Had a chance to play as Hisako today. It might be because I spent more time with the game this time, or because she's much easier to play than Kan-Ra, but she feels pretty damn good: I even scored a single victory! My main gripes are relatively low combo damage and bad reversal options (pretty much comes down to EX command grab), but I'm used to playing with those disadvantages as Faust. And her possession grab makes people throw controllers away, even though it deals so little damage. All you have to do is mix it up with an anti-air on wake-up.

Pardon the necropost, but this one's a little bit personal. One of the future expansions, Wanderers of Indines, is made entirely out of fan-made characters, and my character, Anya Southwind, has made the cut. For anyone who wants to know more (as in, more than you would ever want to), I've wrote down everything I could about her here: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1344399/introducing-anya-southwind

Remember that the BGM changes its tempo in the game itself depending on the players' actions, so you won't ever hear that part if you're actually fighting each other. I like it very much, mostly because I can hear and understand the lyrics, and though it could be a bit more Japanesque, I don't mind the tone they picked. It also fits the overall tone of the game, which does matter, too.

Yeah, if you have it, it's always active, so enjoy those bonus stats. They're supposed to compensate for the loss of Quest Points, and frankly, I won't miss those.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63q8picjUMM Hisako's excellent, but man, Cinder seems to be better than I expected (though to be honest, I didn't expect much). His fans must be going livid right now.

http://www.riseofincarnates.com/characters/zaur-miljkovic Why did they call this lava fatman "Loki"? Did they find no better name for him in all the various mythologies at their disposal? I understand that he's a god of fire, but really, there are loads of fire gods to go around, why pick this one?

"Boring" is as subjective as "Fun", so I wouldn't use it to describe Amane's core design. If you're looking for an antonym for "Interesting", as in "Exciting, holding the attention", it's "Dull", and I wouldn't call Amane's design dull, either. Saying that he "Only wins through chip" trivializes a lot of its aspects, and even then, how many characters in fighting games ever have that at their core? He still has his C normals and hops on top of that, which is more than characters like Ragna or Jin can ever hope for in terms of interesting mechanics.

Crusader, bad in PvE? The hell am I reading Or did you just list the classes that are a bit harder to play solo? Because both sader and bender are great classes to have in parties, especially since their damage isn't half-bad, either. Thanks to the FP system, I can juggle three characters without feeling too bad about my alt-itis. I'm going to keep rolling with my alpha f.brawler, resume playing the best class ever (f.grappler), and try something a bit more difficult to keep things interesting (BM). I'll try joining the guild with the BM today, the name's ShissouGinga.

AFAIK, that's just more of a stereotype by now, as more people have better connection nowadays. The other, more important problem is that summoner is boring to play, but hey, tastes differ.

Also, an item that wasn't supposed to drop was dropping left and right. I only logged in to see if my characters are there, and they are. Now I can wait in peace without worrying too much about bugs and whatnot.

Oh, hey, it's up now! Good job, Anim8rDude! And good job to me for coming up with the idea, I guess?

The website also has a short .pdf with basic info about the gameplay. What the hell, using skills through shortcuts makes them cheaper and have less CD?

Apparently, the beta is going to last until April 13th (so, about 3 weeks). More than enough to get a taste of all the new features and level a couple of characters.

Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel
SoWL replied to ivanchu77's topic in Misc Fighter Central
As much as I'd like to disagree, that's a fine point. It toom Examu six months to port their games to PS2, but the quality wasn't too high, while the PS3 era games took around a year even with ASW's support. And, of course, Daemon Bride got no port at all, but I believe NitoBura's fan appeal is good enough to give it better chances. There's also the fact that the game is likely to launch with 8 characters with the rest added later down the road, so they might not be able to work on the port until the roster is complete (even if the characters and the port are developed by completely different people). Overall, I believe we're going to be very lucky to get the game on our hands this year, which is yet another reason for me to take another trip to Japan in Summer. Speaking of releasing the game with 8 characters, that means they don't have much left to do before getting a fine release candidate: just finish Anna and Ignis and give everyone their Lethal Blaze (might be the most time-consuming aspect, even though the cutscenes aren't that long). Though to be honest, I'd like them to at least give us more stages on top of that: just four is not enough no matter how you look at it, especially since they're so bland. -

She actually had it for a while already, but this is the first time she actually landed it. Speaking of which, it's in a bit of a weird spot right now: in this part of the stream, Al misses it despite Ruili clearly being on the ground. I assume it's because Ruili was still in hit stun, but does that mean that Atlach-Nacha is a command grab despite having varied range? I'm not sure a command grab with such slow start-up and detached hitbox is going to be that good, but then again, she can probably try combining it with Yoishi, like Ein. -
How does being able to FDC earlier prevent you from doing Hack'n'Slash? If anything, it gets better, as you can do it sooner, making it harder to react to.

Nitroplus Blasterz: Heroines Infinite Duel
SoWL replied to ivanchu77's topic in Misc Fighter Central
The stream is over, so it's time for another recap. - The stream got delayed a bit, but we got a good listen to Muramasa's BGM for the wait. Unsurprisingly, it's a MURAMASA remix. - The game got its poster illustration updated: it now has every single playable character around the old Al and Ein. Interestingly, it also has Sonico and Ouka-chan (!). - The handouts are now updated with chibi sprite illustrations of game mechanics, including Lethal Blaze (its input is apparently 236236BC for everyone). The illustration for Lethal Blaze is Saya's Song of Saya (what else could she have as her LB, really?). - There are now 11 slots at the character select screen, even though there are still 16 slots at the Assist select screen. - Some Assists now have "Recommend" near their names in case you're not sure what fits your character best. There are more than two to choose from, so it's not like the game picks them for you. - They've shown quite a lot of alternate palettes in their fights, including a black and gold Al, gray Ein, and teal Muramasa. - Al got a new (old?) special move, The Mirror of Nitocris. She splits into three clones and shatters two of them, similar to Makoto's Asteroid Vision. - Mora is the second character to get her Lethal Blaze: her good old "Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust" from Nitro Royale. Except that, of course, it's now much more flashy and deals about 3/4 of opponent's health. - They've shown even more Anna moves (a lot of different projectiles, her 5C sword swing, and the fact that she can cancel her dashes into jumps and air-dashes) and even picked Ignis for the very first time. She's got quite a few of her normals, and she might be a melee charge character? As always, expect me to reupload all the footage to Youtube today. EDIT: Here's the new handout, since it won't be in the videos: DOUBLE EDIT: Sorry guys, seems like there won't be any videos from me today. Kakoroku (the program that downloads Nicovideo streams) did something bad to the sound's coding (I assume it's because the stream stopped for a moment in the middle of airing), and now the video gets off-synced when I try to convert it (and I have to do that because my software doesn't see .flv files). So now I either have to look for new software, do some converting magic with the software I got, or mute the sound altogether. The worst thing is, I'm going to be out of town tomorrow, so I have no time left to do anything like that. What I am going to do is this: https://www.mediafire.com/?j9lljpd247l1di7 Enjoy the footage, and if you want to upload it to Youtube, be my guest. If no one does, I'll try to do it around Sunday. Oh, and you can have this as a token of apology: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eqq_62L3Un8 -
It's weird, really: if the OP wanted to troll for responses, he picked the worst place on the Internet for that. As it is, he's mostly preaching to the choir. My best guess at the reason behind this thread is that someone actually challenged the notion that GG is the best, and now OP wants to confirm it by appealing to the people (or to the authorities, depending on your point of view). In any case, I see no way this thread can lead to anything productive.

Another stream is going to take place this Friday, now featuring such amazing people as Namaniku ATK! Not sure if we're going to get anything new so soon, but it's still new footage. http://live.nicovideo.jp/gate/lv213311832 -
Well, before we even got to the 2013 version, we had a robot, a skeleton, a dinosaur, a boxer, a Conan wannabe... Yeah, I believe adding a single Japanese ghost is fine. In fact, I'm surprised they never had anything Japanese beyond Jago's vague ninja looks.

My biggest gripe with it is that I can't hear it without associating it with Max and his videos, which is not really what you want to remember in these serious storytelling videos. Meanwhile, I'm very excited about how Hisako turned out to be. They put together command grabs and long-ranged normals, the two things I like the most in fighting games. Oh, and some sweet Japanese flavor.

Well, I actually played the game for the first time not too long ago, so I give it a little more attention now, and I've already been giving it quite a lot despite not having an XBone.

Looking forward to more info on her. If she's in any way similar to Sengoku Basara's Oichi, I might even main her instead of Kan Ra.
