  1. I'm honestly not sure what else can be said at this point, since the match-up is pretty obvious and has been explained multiple times. Feel free to describe the problems you're having, Faust most probably has a solution to them.
  2. Of course it's possible to play Vatista on pad: you only have three attack buttons. Put two of them on your shoulder pads, and you're good to go. Hell, I can do her fragment combos without changing my button layout thanks to the shortcuts (I've described it earlier in the thread).
  3. Huh, weird that no one has posted about it until now, since the magazine has been out since Saturday. Anyways, I got a virtual copy, and there's not that much info in it, either. It mostly explains the system mechanics, the newcomers from the last loketest, and the comments of the players from those videos on their channel. However, there is also a small interview with Hayashi D, as well as some additional info on Muramasa. - There are two sample Muramasa combos: 1. 2A 2A 5B 5C 623C (Assist) 66 5B 5C ~ 2. 2B 5B 214A jc j.B djc j.B j.E 5B jc j.B j.C 623AB - There is a screenshot and a short description of Muramasa's second super, Enchant Minus: Magnetic Barrier. It's a super-parry that catches mids, lows and overheads, but doesn't work against projectiles or Assist attacks. - There is a screenshot of Ignis's idle stance as she's being targeted by Ein's Lethal Blaze. - They are still making changes to the characters and the system, but you shouldn't expect any new mechanics outside of Lethal Blaze. - Akane is going to attack with her Dominator, Angela is going to attack with her Arhan, and Mugen is going to have a large-scale attack. Unlike them, Sonico is going to perform with her band instead of attacking. - Anna and Ignis will be based on their Nitro Royale versions to some extent. Saber is going to be reworked in a way that will make players say "Yes, this is Saber". Ethica is difficult to design, since her game isn't out yet, but you can check out the main visual on its website for a hint (so yeah, DOUBLE CHAINSAWS!). - They acknowledge the fact that they've announced more characters than there are slots on the character select screen, so you can look forward to some developments on that front. Eh, I'm already used to people looking funny at me when I call her a dwarf. By the way, it seems like her web grab is blockable even in mid-air. At least she can combo into it.
  4. The stream is over now, and there was less new stuff than you'd expect. - Ignis and Anna are in the new build, though only Anna was shown in-game, so they might be unfinished. The only moves of hers that they've shown are 5A, Fodere (the sword projectiles) and her dash, which is similar to I-No and the like. She also got her BGM (a remix of Lamentation Doll). - Muramasa got a new special move: a long-ranged web grab that pulls the enemy in. - Ein is the first character to get her Lethal Blaze (level 3 super). She jumps off the screen to shoot the enemy with a sniper rifle: you have to aim the crosshair with the stick while the opponent is slowed down. It even has a short anime cutscene on hit! - They're planning to release the game in Spring, so it can be played at the next Examu Cup in Summer. No word on the next loketest for now. I'll record the stream when the timestamp is up (couldn't record it while it was running for some reason) and re-upload the relevant parts. EDIT: Okay, I'm done, check the last seven videos here: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVyPvLn8SrUpsoL1RfGwVOVBD9a-P4tGB
  5. The game's apparently getting a balance update, with a loketest on its way. http://www.famitsu.com/news/201503/03073034.html
  6. The game is going to be featured on tomorrow's Examu stream, which might even contain first footage of some characters: http://live.nicovideo.jp/watch/lv210996375
  7. Someone should just ask them about it on Twitter.
  8. Yeah, I was looking forward to seeing Ruili win, too. Also, I assume this outro has been in the game for a while, since we already had a Vjedogonia intro, and you don't have to put that much effort into making an outro out of it.
  9. Some ideas off the top of my head: - Gordeau (we already got Jedah as the VS icon, and his GURIMREAPAH is iconic enough to be a good candidate) - Kuu-chan (the small cute mascot of the game, should be easy to draw without losing much detail) - The GRD gauge (this is the most unique part of the game mechanics, though I'm not sure it will look good at that size) - Vatista's diamond (mostly because it's easy to draw and does not look too similar to objects in other games, though it's also nice that the GRD gauge is made of them) - Merkava's snakes (just because they're small and easy to draw, and because Merkava is awesome) - One of Hyde/Lynne sprites (the "protagonists" of the game, though it's hard to choose one particular one)
  10. Yeah, those seem to be new, since they're using some of the new Assists, like Yoishi. Great find! EDIT: Man, that Yoishi setup into command grab makes me wish we had our grappler already. It's also nice to see Ruili do some major damage. Also, I decided that I'll be adding all the videos I see to my original playlist: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLVyPvLn8SrUpsoL1RfGwVOVBD9a-P4tGB
  11. Forget the balls, can we at least get a decent subforum icon? ...Though I have no idea how it should look like. Kuu-chan, perhaps?
  12. The game's having its first couple of loketests this weekend and the next, with a new character added: http://www.famitsu.com/news/201502/26072771.html Still not sure how to feel about the gameplay, but I can always enjoy some insane Chiaking voiceover. Her playstyle seems pretty fun, too.
  13. Uhh, directing?
  14. Maybe she had her Sena voiceover on at the time? The Famitsu edition of Extend seems to have lots of goodies in it, but it's Ebten-exclusive. http://ebten.jp/arc/p/7015014122002/
  15. There seems to be a small local Zato infestation over here, and I'm a bit lost about what to do in this match-up. You can't really zone him, since drills beat your pokes and can even zone you in response, as you don't want to press buttons lest Eddie comes out of the puddle. You can't jump, either, since Eddie will bite you out of the sky and Zato comes flying with j.D or whatever. All you can do is block, and no one wants to be in a situation where they have to block Zato. He does feel weak when I manage to get my offense going, but that doesn't happen too often.
  16. So that's why Zappa's not playable in Xrd - S-ko is too busy fighting people on her own!
  17. I don't remember it changing from Junk Hard Dog since the game's release, the only time it was called Give Me a Break was on Arc Live, AFAIK.
  18. I believe you should be saving your tension exactly for cases like that. Dead Angle is amazing (and no one ever expects it for some reason), and Blitz Shield is going to be pretty good against Gun Flame oki in 1.10. Otherwise, it's pretty much the same as for every other character: block smartly, look out for holes in pressure, punish them with the fastest poke (5P) or throw.
  19. Well, it's not unheard of, all you have to do is bind your characters to your card / flash drive. On the other hand, the game is already going to have lots of variety due to different team compositions, so putting equipment on top of that is probably unnecessary.
  20. While we're at it, I hope they do something about the Assist system (you know, in case it's actually 2v2 with Assists, like J-Stars), or at least do something about Kuja so he's not an auto-include on each and every member of the roster.
  21. The switch to the new 3v3 format means that it might not even be anything like the Dissidia we know and love anymore. That, and my mains won't work that well in against a whole team of opponents. Still, I did spend around 800 hours in total on both Dissidias, so I'll be monitoring this project closely. Who knows, maybe they'll even have a playable Hildibrand.
  22. I wasn't a fan of it at first, but came around when its title got revealed. It gives you a good vantage point to appreciate all of its aspects and connect them to Faust's character. I especially like the piano parts that give those "Good doctor" vibes I missed at first. While I'm at it, The Original is not that bad, either, at least the GGX version (why are all GGXX versions so bland?). Or maybe that's just my nostalgia speaking.
  23. As much as I'd like to agree with that, it's difficult to keep the character roster completely unique when it's this big. It's hard to deny the similarities between Sol and Ky, or Millia and Zato, even though there are quite a few differences between them.
  24. Because it takes physical effort to NOT hit that button at every possible opportunity.
  25. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8QPzZDnVDU Okay, this is one legitimately interesting design. The other characters were a good mix of well-known mechanics and characters from other games, but Aganos feels like he comes from an entirely different genre. Even though gimmicky characters usually turn out to be weak in the long run, I'd still at least sub him if I had an XBone.
