  1. Sent friend requests to a bunch of people from around here, since it got a bit quiet here. Hope we can get a few games going, or else I'm just not sure who I'm writing the guides for
  2. That's weird, since Macross has more than enough powerful idols to be a better inspiration for Rise. Lynn Minmay, anyone?

  4. In America, that is. Now that Rise is playable, I wonder if Fuuka is next - and if she is, how the hell is she going to be different. Then again, P4U has been doing a pretty good job at completely ignoring the original gameplay so far, so I have no doubt they can make both of them interesting.
  5. Gotta love how people don't trust leaks unless they're reposted on Gematsu or whatever Took them long enough, I can finally enjoy my Merkava and Waldstein with some Yuzu on the side.
  6. Wait, they made Warwick a grappler? Well that's interesting.
  7. I think people are missing the "Outside of combos" part of the post. Though yeah, various setup supers that don't require you to hit your opponent with them get kinda crazy with that.

  9. Just noticed that the subforum icons are back, though it seems that they're only visible on the IP.Board, Sol, Ky and Hazama themes.
  10. Sorry for the double-post, but I figured that a guide deserves to be posted separately. I think it's in a good shape right now, but that doesn't mean there's nothing left to improve. Kurokami Medaka ver. 1.1 Character Overview War God Mode Specials Key Strings and Normals Ougi: Kurokami Phantom – War God Version Assists Combos Gonna work on Nube next, though I might get something done for Toguro before that, since he's pretty straight-forward. And after testing it a few times, I can confirm that Zebra's walls do NOT block Koro-sensei's missiles.
  11. I actually didn't know that he was voiced by Megumi Ogata in Japan, now I'm looking forward to Ken even more, even if he's more of a Shinji than Kumagawa.
  12. And thus, the world has been saved from witnessing yet another one of those hideous covers.
  13. A friendly reminder that I'm almost finished with my Medaka guide (sorry for the delay, more and more stuff comes up that I want to test). If you want to contribute to it, wait until I'm done. Some more observations about the assists: Chitoge actually locks down the enemy team's assist on hit for 30 seconds. An excellent choice for the characters with long combos who don't want to be combo-broken by Hancock all day. And apparently, Zebra's wall (and probably Aizen's, too) does NOT block Koro-sensei's rocket, though I'll test it again just in case.
  14. I almost got excited about this rumor, but then realized that Rise is not Fuuka. Ken can be pretty damn cool, though, looking forward to him.
  15. I'm already fixing small typos in my Zebra article, but I guess putting them into the first post should only happen after I finish it (though honestly, I'm not sure what to add there other than maybe some general tips and tricks). Translated that Medaka move, the guide should be ready around tomorrow.
  16. That spoiler tag's broken, man. I've been using the Lala assist a whole lot in the lab (feels more efficient than to sandbag Toriko/Zebra all the time), and I noticed that after using her, the first hit that lands on the opponent sends them flying, so you can't do any combos to them. Is it unique to Lala, or is it a common Assist mechanic? Gonna check it out later. Also, are there still no decent Japanese wikis on this? I'm trying to translate the name of Medaka's syringe toss, but I don't recognize the first two kanji. A little tidbit for the first post: Planet Namek (Dragon Ball Z) - an uneven stage with a high plateau on the west, a road in the middle and a lake on the east. Fighting underwater has no special conditions (other than Koro-sensei's stamina charge and potentially other character-specific traits), however, you can only lock on the underwater opponent if you yourself is underwater, and vice-versa. This can easily lead to dropped combos if you launch the opponent out of (or into) the water, as well as some degenerate gimmicky tactics, such as Sasuke using Amaterasu with little risk. And are we going to update the network ID list? Feel free to add me for some games.
  17. Quality of the AI and quality of the game are hardly ever related. If you have ever played a half-decent fighting game, it shouldn't be too hard to beat the AI even in BB, especially when the game has auto-combos that you don't have to learn. If you have any problems with the game's system beyond frame drops, just state them. As long as you don't, you just sound like you never really wanted to give the game a chance.
  18. Judging from the fact that everyone's describing the footage, no one recorded it, right?

  20. I see no fault in the move itself here: its start-up is pretty much the same as on every other character, so you might as well say that no one should get hit by Ragna's 6B. It'd also help to have some context: did you cancel into it from other normals? Was it a meaty overhead? What other mix-ups did you use? Or did you just try to do it naked?
  21. Eh, it doesn't take too long to get used to 30 fps, certainly not long enough to drop the game just because of that. And last time I checked, beating CPUs was never something to brag about, especially when the game has mechanics that are aimed specifically at beginners. The cinematics were my main problem initially, but since the longest ones require 2 bars of meter, it kinda becomes a non-issue in the long run. Even the taunts are usually customized to be as short as possible, both to keep the fights more fluid and to implement them into combos. At least this game doesn't have Petshop
  22. Except that Aksys had nothing to do with BBCP, as has been mentioned in this thread already.
  23. I'm way too attached to BB's Japanese voice actors (mostly through BuruRaji) to switch the voices to English. Though I must admit, the dub is very, very solid across the board, with my favorites being Tager and Kokonoe. For P4U, it's a little bit different: I'm fond of P3's English voice cast, since the original game is among my most favorite JRPGs ever, but I haven't played P4 that much, so I prefer the JP voices (and I also watched the anime, so the bias towards that is even stronger). Luckily, I don't play P4U that often, so I don't have to worry about it.
  24. Well, at least that's some nice Bullet tech to know
