  1. I still play her in casuals but it's hard when I have Jams and Mays and Slayers and Millias to play. Anyhow I need to do a lot more work on her combos and I'm currently mainly using Robo-Ky as a backup. Oh and her air-to-air isn't that bad, j.P is pretty good and her air throw is awesome when used correctly. ANYHOW!!! In an attempt to stop the thread de-rail, let's talk about Lv3 BRP combos. What to do people go for? If I land a standalone Lv3 BRP around midscreen I'll go for dash into dust loop to try and take them to the corner or a dash 5S©, 5HS HJ combo from a little further out. Occasionally I'll go for the Lv2 GB afterwards but I've already said I don't find it that consistent. Lv1 GB CK is even harder I find as you kinda have to kara the D after the BRP hits to avoid getting AC. If I've done a gatling into Lv3 BRP I sometimes do Lv2 TR if I have bar and go for 6HS to secure knockdown. However I've found 6HS at the end of air combo doesn't necessarily give knockdown all the time, seems a little random to me (possibly people aren't teching and just take the knockdown but vs CPU in training, the dummy will tech out in a lot of situations).
  2. But he can spam 5S(f) to keep you from blindly rushing him down on the ground tho (if that's what you're talking about). Dash sweep may be able to work for you here but you'd probably have to do it pre-emptively (not something I've tested myself tbh).
  3. But if you look at what I've covered, I'm basically focusing on the technicality of combos. I've never attempted to produce an all encompassing strategy guide for Order-Sol, I've placed emphasis on combos and how to perform them above all else. I have covered subjects like JI, fuzzy guard, ID but these are general concepts of the game. I have also covered subjects like ways of dealing with projectiles, some uses for FRCs, and oki options and these are just a small section of tactics particular to Order-Sol. The rest of the stuff is pure combos and how to do them. But I don't think it's right to tell people a text book way of how to play a character tho. You can show them things and talk about "Lv3 HOS players" and "Lv1 HOS players" or however you want to distinguish between players but I think people should find out their own play style. There is no right or wrong play style. If people are serious about the game they will evolve with their own style naturally anyway (so if they're consistently losing with the way they play, they'll adapt their game). That's why you can see definite differences between how 0 or Kaqn play or how Sekido and KZO play etc. They don't all rely on an a by-the-numbers textbook strategic formula to use the character.
  4. Well, the only real guide we have is WUT's 101 primer for beginners. I would say this thread pretty much covers 80% of HOS combos you're most likely to see. What guides aren't good enough, the matchup discussions? How should they be improved?
  5. Thanks. I have another video in the pipeline atm. But even tho I'm the one who makes the vids, lots of the contributions and things you see in them are taken from members here who post in the HOS forum. And yeah I'm not that great tbh, there are a lot of stronger HOS players who post here. If you want to look out for well known HOS players, here's a short list; Kaqn (was a HOS player throught almost all of Slash's lifetime and pretty much all of ACs so far (bar a stint with Millia). Kaqn is very solid and dependable, you'll learn lots from his vids - and there are TONS of them on youtube). Sanma (also played HOS during Slash but maybe not as well known as Kaqn. He has since come into his own in AC and is pretty much a "dustloop wizard" as people like to label him). 0 (considered to be arguably the best HOS player in Japan by many, he's very aggressive and has a manical rushdown). KZO (plays with an obscure style but gets a surprising amount of wins from it). Other HOS players who are lesser well known include Sekido, Inoue and N.Shima. There are more but I can't recall them. Absolutely no idea as I didn't go (hence why I'm online). All I know is that Prof. Jones won ST by beating r3ko in the final, and 2 Polish guys won DR but can't go to Evo so Ryan (who came 3rd) got the ticket. Was getting texts of SlimAdey and kaworu. Anyway, PM instead of randomly post in combo threads! lol
  6. It's great that you like the look of I-No, she's not a very popular character in AC and in part that is due to her extremely difficult combos to perform (asides from other things). Just wanted to point out even performing a basic combo with her (outside of using supers and corner dive loops) is incredibly difficult for a new player. She has hard combos because of her HCL (horizontal chemical love, the 632146K move). In combos you need to FRC this to follow up but not only that you need to buffer a dash either side of the FRC (which is only a 2 frame window) and possibly even have to make extra inputs BEFORE all of this to enable her to airdash. Basically her combos will be a nightmare to a new GG player! Anyhow back to Order-Sol, I think everyone has pretty much covered all the most useful stuff in the last few posts. Check WUTs intro guide to him, check some matches in the media thread and you'll get a better idea of how you can play Order-Sol and what combos work against who and what they look like. You'll also understand his Charge system better too and see that some players prefer to charge Lv fast and rely on CK a lot, some will stick to Lv1 mainly and only go to higher levels quite rarely.
  7. I'm pretty sure Titanium Beast posted that an awful long time ago. I always do it like that, but I just don't actually "think" of the negative edge if I'm being honest. Here's the post: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showpost.php?p=176982&postcount=203
  8. Yeah, the problem with the first post is that I'm almost at the limit of characters you can have in 1 post. There's a lot more to go in but I need to edit stuff further and may in fact end up linking to other posts in the thread to save space/characters. It also means I can't give detailed descriptions of all the odd combos (there are a few there). You won't see this combo too often on normal hit as most people will prefer to play for the knockdown, plus there are better damage alternatives anyway. This is a very old combo first mentioned in the Mook so don't take it as an important combo. The trick is to do the CC as quick as possible and get the 5K out as soon as possible afterwards. It also helps if you have some dashing momentum beforehand as well so sometimes I write (dash) 2D (CC) 5K ... But I can verify that 2D (CC) 5K will work on all characters on normal hit. The only characters I've not been able to land it on from a normal hit is Potemkin and Robo-Ky. To do combos on them from 2D (CC) you need to land a CH. As Hatred Edge said, landing CH on 2D (CC) will make the combo infinitely easier on everyone.
  9. Sir, I doff my cap to you
  10. You mean like 2:53 here? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fv7WqhQIgsU&feature=related Vid was done by Ryan Bill aka WUT. It's funny, I usually only watch combo vids once or twice as a lot of the time the combos are ridiculous and would never happen be possible in a match. However, after re-watching some recently I've picked out lots of things I've missed before. EDIT: One question I've been meaning to ask, how do people time the Lv2 GB after a Lv3 BRP hit? I can't seem to find the right point/spacing to get this combo down consistently. Sometimes I think it's going to whiff but it connects fine, other times I try to time it but it misses and the combo gets dropped. How do people successfully land this part of the combo?
  11. I'm far too inconsistent in matches to land this correctly (so I can actually followup from the j.HS) but I use j.D in the same manner very occasionally, just for the knockdown if it connects (and because it has a longer range than j.HS so can hit from further away). Does 0 play more methodically when you watch him play Hintalove? The only vids I've seen of him (maybe around 10/12) he's normally pretty manic, you literally can't guess what he's going to do. His defense is usually very solid but his combos are completely random sometimes, he'll do some sick dust loop or whatever and then land a Lv1 GB and do 5S© HJC hj.P, j.S, j.K, Lv1 SV or something, basically do a fraction of the damage he could have instead of doing BnBs. Plus he doesn't seem to give a fuck about matchups or ideal approaches to certain chars, he'll just play his game as he wants lol
  12. Hintalove do you get to see/play 0 in the arcades? Very few of his fights ever make it online. And if you've ever seen him, is he as old as he looks in pictures? lol The only times I use Lv3 SF is for AA, or if I'm looking to catch someone hitting buttons when they shouldn't (as with Lv2 SF). It's not too bad as an AA provided your opponent doesn't have a big active hitbox on their attack after the 3 frame super freeze has ended. The juggle properties after it are great tho, free combo if it hits.
  13. lol Anyhow, random combo I saw 0 do on the G3 MAX dvd (the singles final where he beat 2 Potemkins ) after landing a CH 5HS as anti air, he did IAD into j.HS and landed into time to do 5S©, 5HS into a HJ combo. Don't think he CC'd the 5HS but I can't recall, can check tonight, anyhow the combo was quite cool, a decent alternative to the (rare) times you land CH 5HS as AA and aren't going to be able to CC and dust loop the opponent into the corner. EDIT: btw, what do you guys think of Lv3 GB combos? I never use it tbh, other than randomly to try and break someone's guard but I'm going to start on a new vid shortly and I'm re-visiting certain GB things (the crossup/non-crossup situation, Lv2 combos) but I didn't know whether to bother with a few Lv3 GB combos. I never use it but maybe someone else has some neat things (I stick with Lv1 and occasional Lv2). I'm also planning to cover Overdrive uses (not that many really), Lv3 BRP combos and 2S (CH) 6HS stuff (just a few things as there are many options from here).
  14. Yes occasionally, I put it in a vid a while back. Nowadays I like to use deep j.HS into Fafnir and then hj.IAD.
  15. Adding damages has already been discussed, it's somewhat irrelevant when you take into account GUTs rating and guard bars in matches. It would be a major pain in the ass and eat up major characters up to the max limit in the first post. Hence why the vids try to describe the nitty gritty of most things, plus you can visually see what kind of damages you're getting vs different characters. As Hintalove has mentioned, highest damage will generally come from HJI/JIs, hj.IADs and Dust Loops. For Dust Loops it's sometimes down to personal preference where you want to delay for more reps, sometimes I delay between j.HS, j.D and the next rep, sometimes I insert delay between j.HS and j.Ds. One thing you need to bear in mind for starting the 2nd rep of dust loops is that j.D has 5 frames of landing recovery so you can't rush the next j.HS, some prefer to hold up as soon as they land so that they should re-jump in time.
  16. Yeah I always use j.HS x2 as well, using j.D to start an ID would feel too weird for me (I never use it to start normal dust combos either, I always use j.HS x2).
  17. lol I kinda have to question people's motives when stuff like that is uploaded to youtube. That match may actually inspire me to get some of my more recent I-No matches up. Still not getting consistent CL FRCs but am starting to get there.
  18. No way, I must be the worst I-No up there! Those matches must be from a long time ago on youtube!
  19. Yeah I already linked them before in post #4
  20. Yes this is a key thing. If Johnny doesn't have coins, his damage potential drops (unless he has 50% Tension and has been cranking your guard gauge or something). Stopping Johnny from getting to Lv2 or Lv3 with his coins, although easier said than done, is going to pay off for you.
  21. lol good shit, those matches were great.
  22. That's strange because every time I'm testing a GB crossup in training, I will always use 6K, 2D for ease of use. Never had it not work before (unless I was running full on at Faust).
  23. I like 2P, 2K, 5S©, 2S, 2D it will work on almost everyone all the time (apart from maybe Faust and his stupid legs). 6K, 2D usually works a treat, 2K, 2D from further out than usual and 2K/5K, 5S©, 2S, 2D are probably other staples I use.

  25. Yeah, I know there are a few threads where people have put up their vids and asked for critiques and such but I thought it'd be cool to have a thread totally dedicated to I-No media (match vids, combo vids, download links etc). I'm sure a lot of people can learn things from watching others play. To start off with, here's a ton of matches from some recent UK casuals: Ryza (IN) vs dobiqwolf (SL) 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qo2zBGaRE0w Ryza (IN) vs dobiqwolf (SL) 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KMnzEReYeA Ryza (IN) vs pawndriver (JO,JA) 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3BLyXhEDDM Ryza (IN) vs pawndriver (JA) 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsYjGs-ycRQ pawndriver (JO,JA) vs Ryza (AB,IN): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9iEFswIl4o Ryza (IN) vs True-Phase (VE): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4VinANJcZLo Kane (MI) vs Ryza (IN): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUaoaB7_j4c Kane (TE) vs Ryza (IN): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xcHrY2q_qT0 Kaworu (ZA) vs Ryza (IN,AB): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZM0xLSZjUU Kaworu (ZA,VE) vs Ryza (AB,IN): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GpUlPrHg4Yo I have some more to put up shortly.
