  1. Haha, hey man, I'm OK thanks. No didn't mean gatlings when I said that (I barely consider gatlings as "combos" tbh) I meant more about DL. Really, asides from a few specific cases (eg hj.IAD stuff after Fafnir or CH j.HS) the main way to score damage in AC was to go for DL. And there were many ways of doing this, and many variations with/without certain charge/tension levels etc. They generally all led into DL (or you basically wanted them to). So they're the core combos I'm talking about...is it really all still about DL or have the changes to HOS actually changed this now? (and new/better combos have come about).
  2. I appreciate there were a fair few changes/tweaks to Order-Sol in AC+ but do they really affect his core AC combos all that much? I mean, I get there are new options open/new things can be done but fundamentally a lot of the main combos from AC are still valid right?
  3. lol yeah I'm still alive dude, just been getting owned by work recently.
  4. One of the simplest air combos HOS has is something like j.[K, S], dj.[K, S], SV. Another option is j., dj.[s, HS], SV. His easiest combos usually rely on high/super jumps after hitting an airborne opponent with 5S© or 5HS. In which case you do hj.[s, HS, D], SV. This works after Lv1 GunBlaze (with a dash), CH Fafnir, CH 2HS, 6P in the corner, Lv2 RockIt RC, Lv3 BRP etc... After using Lv3 RI in a ground combo you can go straight into the usual high/super jump combo without extra ground hits. After a corner throw, it's pretty easy to do his main air combo j.[HS, D], dj.[HS, D], BRP against most of the cast (some require a dash 5S© beforehand tho or even a dash jump).
  5. Actually I made a new vid about GB crossup a few months back, don't think I ever posted it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbuofWwSJwo There were a few guys in the UK expressing interest in GG and I remember one guy a long while back asking exactly when GB will/won't crossup so I made a quick vid. It's probably boring as hell for an intermediate player to watch but it covers all the essentials in detail (and it's explained more clearly than when I did the old vid).
  6. lol for starters the 1st post hasn't even been updated for 2 years. Back then, new combos were just discussed or brought up in the thread or posted from vid clips. All the regular HOS players who posted pretty much knew what they should be doing in any given situation anyway. A lot of the early stuff in the 1st post is introductory stuff, and given there is a char limit as to how much you can type in 1 post it's not possible to add to it anymore without stripping out tons of stuff. Not only that but the HOS vids I did cover plenty of combo ideas as it is, so you can either read the post and see stuff in action (which was my idea with them) or just check the vids and get the basic ideas. Some of the later stuff in the 1st post IS badly outdated and some probably shouldn't be included (2S CH 6HS RC combos???) but given the HOS forum has seen so little traffic in a very long time, I've never really seen the need for a total overhaul of the post. Regarding char specific combos, lol, if someone wants to go thru all 23 chars testing every single combo in corner/midscreen/whatever then be my guest. I tested the vast majority of his important combos (at the time) inside out, so all the important combos have full char specific details. If a combo doesn't have a char listing then it either wasn't important enough to test to death or it was a trivial combo and not something you'd be using 24-7. Bear in mind the 1st post is not really supposed to be an ultimate definitive article, it's an introduction, with more of a focus on basic and intermediate (useful/reliable) combos going on later to his bnb stuff. Some of the details may go over the top sometimes but it was compiled over a good length of time (early AC lifetime) and some of the more meaty stuff was discussed in the thread amongst the players. It just ended up the way it is now from lots of edits. If Kamui has been working on a HOS combo bible then that should probably be made into it's own thread full stop and this thread could either be locked or the 1st post re-written to clarify it's a basic/intermediate introduction or something.

I believe the Greek players are coming again but I'm not sure, Kekken and Champion also came last year amongst others like Cuongster (who was working in London at the time)...there are still some excellent UK GG players to meet and play however, as well as Tim119 (who represented Taiwan at SBO a few years back).
  9. Rules regarding Mu-12 and Makoto being selectable will be finalised shortly. A complete list of rules and a complete timetable of events (as well as a list of player attendance for each game) will be announced in the very near future, please stay tuned for info updates.
  10. Official trailer is now up: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idV2WmXjSr4 I forgot to mention previously that a build of MC3 will also be available to play at SVB20-X, your only chance in Europe to get a hands on play for now!
  11. To update the first post, the following lineup changes have since been made: KOFXII (PS3) has since been replaced with KOF2002UM Tougeki Edition (Jap PS2) BBCS (PS3) has been confirmed in place of BBCT (PS3) (as you should have read already). Also, HD Remix (Xbox 360) has been added to the lineup - having played at Evo, this could be your only chance to play Daigo on HDR in the UK. The SVB site http://www.supervsbattle.com/svb20x/ has been updated with all these changes, stay tuned for any extra information going up. Please note: Any signups for tournament games MUST be completed online, signups for tournaments will not be processed on the days of SVB itself. Signups will close on 12th August so secure your places now (signing up online also reduces the cost of entry to SVB for the 3 day period).
  12. Props to TB for placing top 5 at FRXIII!
  13. Stick only (on ALL fighting games I play) and NO macros! I used to play pad for the longest time but stopped around 6 years ago after realising I was limiting myself (can't play in arcade and for some things e.g. in VF, it's simply not possible to do things as consistently as on stick).
  14. All this talk of quiting the game or dropping HOS makes me feel cold inside Even when my only sparring partner is the cpu I'm just not able to bring myself to drop the character/game, I wouldn't even consider it after all the time and effort I've spent on them.
  15. Yeah, I should have also said that sometimes you may even need a dash j.HS in between your reps to keep the distance right into the corner...you also need the right timing on the 5S© correctly to pop them into the air at the correct height. So yeah spacing and timing for this stuff I find extremely difficult to do consistently. I'm sure everyone remembers those vids of Sanma playing that Venom where he was killing the guy with like 2 combos tho? Where he'd get CH j.HS at the start of a round and do 2 1/2 DL reps Me personally I stick to the basic stuff midscreen, either hj.IAD combos or if I'm feeling particularly lazy/having a bad day with inputs, just usual 5K, 5S©, 5HS into hj combo.
  16. Sanm used to regularly set up DLs with 5S© after CH j.HS in midscreen but you need to get your dashing momentum/timing right.
  17. I believe I saw Sanma do this first in some matches a long long time ago, pretty sure he did it once in a set vs KA2 but I don't think he was using the knockdown from it, he was going into DL afterward or at least trying to. Will have to dig up the vid to see what he was actually doing again. Of course I say I saw him do it first, what I mean is that he was the first player I saw doing it in an uploaded match lol EDIT: I tell a lie, he did use it for knockdown...he did the combo midscreen from a CH j.HS and did a small manual charge as he landed to get back up to Lv2. Definitely seen him use ut others time too, against a Slayer I think...
  18. http://gamechariot.com/08movie.html Kaqn beasting in the second set, not got around to watching the first set of matches yet. Some really nice combos and hit confirms all round.
  19. lol the pushback from the Tager corner combo was insane. Also I'd never thought of using sweep into 22C from D ID.
  20. Nope there's only 1 or 2 chars that happens with (Testy comes to mind IIRC) otherwise you get a phat JI combo from corner throw in Slash. Yeah that's why you have to do running high jump into air combo as staple or JI combo on CH. One of my vids from the archive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hp1hVUi1D2I .....but yeah, back to AC combos now?
  21. lol cool no worries. Yeah I've noticed Inoue tends to go for the j.S like 99% of the time (at least in all the matches I've seen him in recently) I tend to make my mind up about which buttons to press at the last minute lol
  22. Actually it's just 1 j.P in that air combo and doing hj.IAD, j.P, j.HS works on everyone. It might have timing issues between different chars but it certainly works on all of them. Variations involve hj.IAD j.P, j.K, SV hj.IAD j.P, j.S, SV hj.IAD j.P, j.K, j.S, SV hj.IAD j.K, j.HS, SV hj.IAD, j.P, Lv3 SV etc...
  23. Nope that was a one-off gig I'm afraid, to tie into Justin Wong coming over for the event (plus we got sponsorship from Capcom Europe I believe too). However we do have SVB 2009 http://www.supervsbattle.com/ lined up for September and AC is guaranteed to be there. I would get involved with all this talk currently.....but I'm too busy eating popcorn and reading thru these posts Oh but one thing, talk of landing hj.IAD combos 100%, I dunno maybe I could see someone doing this from exactly the same setup/situation every time but the point is, during a match this combo does vary depending on what you use to start it with......and 0 and Sanma fuck it up anyway, so I don't lose too much sleep over the fact I can't land it every single time from every single situation during a match.
  24. Yeah, it does really need a revision tbh but I'm just getting owned by Uni stuff atm. There's quite a bit of repetition I could get rid of, as well as the ultra basic crap but I do want to leave some of the simple stuff in, as it's meant to be a collection of "easy > staple > advanced" stuff. Or so I see it. Just so noobs can click the link and get ez mode combos to learn to begin with. I'm close to hitting the allowed chars per post tho too, so to add anything new I'll need to delete/relocate stuff, but it does need to be updated (plus there's lots of sections hanging by a thread so they need some closure). Yeah that pretty much sums it up tbh. But yeah, I will get on it when I have some spare time.
  25. (whatever into )Lv2 RI: - RC the second hit and go into dash j.HS, j.D, dj.HS, j.D or any air combo you're comfortable with etc... Can also do dash 5S© 5HS into HJ combo as a basic one. - Dash after the 2nd hit launches and connect a 5K or 5S© and go into air combo (midscreen you can do stuff like 5K, 5S©, 5HS hj.IAD j.P, j.K, SV or 5K,5S© JC into short air combo, in the corner you can do dash 5S© into dust loop) It's not really one of HOS's absolute staple combo tools tho tbh.
