Wow I can't believe it's been over a year already since the last Devastation lol. Sounds kind of worrying that there won't be a Dev this year but last year's was pretty lackluster. I definitely agree Lorenzo should go first; Arakune is a great point character and good to "feel out" the other team. I was thinking maybe we can choose Chris or I second depending on the matchup and what characters are on the other team. Like, Hakumen would be better against Hazama than Mu, so maybe putting Chris second would be best, for example. -
I ain't even mad, man I know right? "Ice Spike" breaking two primers is lol, so is double airdash, Dizzy tier. CS1 Mu was so bad (at least compared to the top tier in that game) though. She got alright reward but few ways to enforce her gameplan. She could break primers like nobody's business though; if I replayed CS1 knowing what I do now I would just go for the guard crush all day instead of anything else.

Aw thanks Ray. Honestly I think the two biggest things I need to overcome are adapting back to offline timing (need to play more casuals) and dealing with nerves and adapting in a tournament setting. When I got blown up by that Colorado Litchi at Lolvestation it was because I kept dropping things I shouldn't have and not adapting to his playstyle. We had some hype, close matches in casuals afterwards after I had time to download him and there was no tournament stress, but I need to download people faster in a tourney environment. I get pretty spoiled against lower level players on netplay or players that don't understand how to fight Mu; but it gets tough adapting against experienced players with better fundamentals that won't let me get away with dumb stuff. But yeah, just need more tourney experience. Team "I'LL KILLLL YOUUUU" or "Electronic Drug Dealers" Team "Clit-oris" probably wouldn't fly... -

Feint a meaty and backdash is pretty good to make Mu's DP whiff. (while also doubling as baiting Gold Burst if you're fighting, uh, that kind of player). Well, it might lose to like, wakeup super, but that'd have to be some supreme yomi/silliness on the Mu's part. I know when I get my DP properly baited and fatal'd I'm gonna be more careful using it in the future lol. Mu's DP is fine (she needs respect to set up her game since her zoning isn't immediately active like Lambda's) but I don't think a real cooldown timer on Habaya would be unreasonable. That shit only has like 17f (47f for air) after it disappears before you can summon it again lol. So every second you pretty much get one the best zoning tool in the game or a free supply of Bang's nails.

Oh yeah. Since we're mentioning CS1. The other day I was messing around with Unlimited Mu and realized the Unlimited chars are basically their CS1 versions with new stuff slapped onto them. So Mu's 5C and 2C were all slow as fuck CS1 speed, her gatlings were all weird (5B > 2B > 5B > 2B wat), and she could still do her old combos like the corner loop I had almost forgotten how to do. It was pretty lulz and nostalgic. I remember all the illegitimate setups people came up with before we really knew the "right" way to play her.

People just salty they don't know the matchup, don't know how to bait DP, keep getting CH by 5C/2C/jC, and need to retake Spacing 101. Just keep feeding on their delicious tears.

Damn nice writeup pochp. Regarding mixups/blockstrings, I think jB > jA deserves a mention for making airdash jBs more + on block and doubling as a potential fuzzy guard if they always block low after your jB. Also your comment about throw whiff setups got me thinking since that isn't something I really thought about doing but seems like it would be really obvious/good. Man I love this character. I feel like you can never stop discovering new stuff with her. Edit: For Arakune matchup, I wouldn't recommend trying to anti-air any competent ones. His jB is pretty incontestable if they use it properly. I would treat it like Tager j2C and just try to run underneath it or accept it and block. If they space it wrong or use it at an improper height though, then yeah feel free to anti-air the shit out of them.

FRKZ feels like a mini-curse mode but thankfully you can abare out the Bang and get lucky and win sometimes. Real talk I usually burst the first seal combo the Bang does if they know how to actually use FRKZ. I feel like I have better luck trying to block Arakune's IOH crossup garbage than dealing with a Bang gone pringles. Naoto is sweet. GGs to everyone I played today.

Something simple but worth noting, 2B/3C can beat out/CH Kishuu (it still doesn't go through lows). If you can react well enough, 3C is great to use to make them think twice about shuushuushuu-ing though your stuff. Make every effort to block Hop/TK Tsubaki. Probably Haku's toughest mixup to block on reaction; shit leads into 5k+ in the corner and is only 15F startup. =( This matchup is like the ultimate battle of retarded damage.

So earlier today I was playing against a Tager and tried to do a low jB > j2C...and got 360'd out of my j2C's startup. Anyone want to explain how this can happen? Is our j2C not considered in the air if it's done low enough?

Welcome back void! Sick GC combo. Practicing it, I found you can do double super starting with 82 meter if you do "...mid loop > 2C > 5C > yata > 2D > 214D > j2C > 3C > Omoikane", but not sure if it's universal yet. One thing I like about this route is that even though it uses meter, the 5[D] you set out will let you continue pressure and further harrass their primers even if they barrier the SoD. THERE IS NO ESCAPE

Bomb combo in corner with same route as the new throw combo, only need 2 meter at start to super: 214D (hit) > 6B > 5C > 2C > :7jC > j2C > 2C otg > 6C > 6D > SoD > walk 6A > j2C > 3C > SoD > Omoikane (4955, 48 MG, use 2C otg > 5C for ender on applicable characters for 5042 dmg) Double super version, requires at least 49 meter: 214D > ... > j2C > 2C otg > 5C > 632146D > j2C > 2C otg > 5C > Omoikane (5631, 51 MG) Won't work on Bang, Noel, Jin, or Arakune it seems. Need to test more, but 5k and practically building the meter for super is almost back to CS2-level bomb damage. Another note about this route for those practicing it, you need to somewhat delay the 7jC. This prevents the problem of them wallbouncing behind you before your SoD connects. However, doing this prevents you from 2C otg-ing some characters it would normally work on like Arakune. Back to the lab.

Old news? Apparently our DP will always kill George in one hit. This makes DP > RC a really safe way to get out of George oki, forcing the Rachel to use less optimal pumpkin/lobelia oki more when we have 50 meter. Ways to kill George in one hit at neutral: -SoD kills George in one hit. Can be really safe if spaced correctly; just be aware of pumpkin -6C can kill George in one hit and you can still cancel into steins or specials. -TK Habaya will also kill George. -214D from low to the ground steins like airdash j2Ds also work. Now that I know how to shut down wind tech and zone her better, I realize this match is more in Mu's favor.
