  1. besides from autopiloting, l haven't trained with mu much because l was supposed to be dropping her (in fact the whole decision to use her was last minute). not going to lie, l was surprised l even made it to gf's. before my mu hiatus, so to speak, l was working on midrange spacing, something l was very bad with in cs1, and still is, frankly. l figured mu's true potential lies in 5c instead of zoning with steins, but maybe it would have been wise to incorporate both to enhance versatility. for the most part cor you are right. solar whenever l rc 6b, its either because l assume they will block it, or to bait a burst (though 6b has good recovery, so l dont always have to rc to bait bursts if the second hit has already hit). lf they dont block/burst l wasted meter, but its win/win regardless. l could do sod rc -> stuff, but... well... thats something training mode would have showed me. lol

    AH!!! l see the light. i'm just realising that l have alot more time to do stuff rather than just a lobelia (thats srsly all ive been doing lol). this has really made my day. thx polka for the ideas also - theres some serious lab time to be had.

    speaking of 5cc oki... why is it that my a lobelia NEVER hits a character rolling forward? not only that, but they roll forward and they can punish for free due to a lobelia recovery. its really annoying because l dont know what the problem could be, and my opinion of 5cc oki has dropped since. has anyone else experienced this? l know air 5cc has less untechable time than if 5cc hit a grounded foe so that could be a reason, but currently its pretty much impossible to get a 'grounded' 5cc at the end of a big combo. not even delay 5cc so that the bottom part of the umbrella hits and the game recognizes it as a grounded 5cc. ldk. am l doing something wrong?

    not really, unless you mean due to the airborne state having less untechable time than if 5cc connected with a grounded opponent. but most 5cc oki ends this way. look, try this. (corner with pole) 5b 5cdc dash 5b jc 2d dj2c (lv2) land dash 5cc dash 3c(1) 214c dash 5cc oki. also, new? combo from j.2c crossup. ... IAD 1d j.2c land 3c(3) 236b dash 5a(1) jc 2d dj2c(lv2) 236b jc djc j214c [bbl...] l made this up yesterday, i'll post damage heat gain later. it's character specific (only 3c 236b able chars), and ldk how many of them it works on just yet. but it's the only 2 wind j.2c combo l could come up with that did good damage ._.

    the only significant difference is meter gain. tested from 6a, one rep of j.2c lv2 does about 400 less than 2 reps. pretty negligible damage wise. from 6a, one rep gives 22 meter while two gives 32. now that's delicious. adding bbl into the equation, doing two reps only gives you an increase of about 100 damage. in terms of difficulty, it feels like everything just falls into place. there's no difficult timings besides the normal j.2c stuff. lf you need heat for bbl ender or in general and you have a wind to spare, then this is good. now whether it works smoothly on everyone, ldk. (but it should)

(high) ...dj j.b or j.a... (fuzzy guard setup) - j.c land... (tricky high/low/throw setup) all of these setups loop back into 5b, 3c being an exception.

  16. Hey guys. I was thinking about dragontamer's wonderful writeup on "block loops" and how effective they can be. Now, most of Rachel's blockstrings are incredibly safe on block and leave room for more options if blocked, but I still think its a great idea to put in the tutorial thread anyway (im going to copy pasta his post here when I get home if people want some clarification on what I'm talking about). So what do you guys think? I figured it may be too... Advanced? To put in a tutorial thread, but regardless I was going to write it up for myself anyway, so the least I could do is just post it here and maybe you all can get some sort of use out of it.

  19. im tired atm so l wont go too in depth today. you didnt do bad. but my goodness you were impatient. whats the rush? you were out of wind very quickly at the start of each round and it seemed like you were struggling without it. my suggestions: stay on the ground. do not panic. let her zone! there isnt much rach can do windless. better yet, conserve wind and wait for an opening via airdash. block everything else. you missed out on sooo much damage. l was sad. quick oki is good but you had the meter to do bbl combos alot of the time yet you went for measly 1k. again thats fine, but keep in mind her bbl combos regen almost 3 wind consistently and still grant oki and solid damage/meter. in the corner, if nothing else, frog combos are first priority for wind regen. remember 5cdc still works in the corner. lt dosent seem like you know that matchup well (no offense!). lf you want l can give you some general tips and things l tried vs lambda that work, l love those sword lris tricks, mind if l steal them? :D

  24. sounds awesome. it's a must try. rachel needs more resets in her life :D so guys. how do you play rachel? do you have a dominant style? l remember in ct when l used to favor rushdown over zoning. (although the reason was fairly obvious, some people favored her zoning more). in cs everyone pretty much had to zone or die. now in cs2, both her zoning and rushdown seem to be on equal footing, so it's back to rushing down. which i'm finding hard to do with cs1 mentality -_-
