  1. Now now. She can't let them be better than her, now can she? That kitty would be overthrown so fast. And I'm sure tager could make it so that she doesn't land on her feet. At any rate I'm surprised she's only considered b right now honestly, she still looks like a beasty.

  3. Has Jin 6d always been like this? Never mind it has. It's always been hell for dpless chars and I don't see that changing much. Chars with a good DP should have no problem beating this if they delay DP (which may lose to other things...) it is a really good thing for him though on top of his already bone-chilling pressure strings.
  4. wind is a sizeable nerf, wind regen combos took a hit, lotus got neutered, and most importantly, without a summon rachel's wind pressure has more dpable gaps. not to mention she is a very well developed character, with new tech mostly replacing old ones. whether she is set in stone or not, we will have to see how her wind and IOH fare in the long run. personally, she is a strong character still and her position may reflect the overall strength of the chars right now.
  5. Celica does look kinda bad. Not sure how she is supposed to play neutral, looks akin to terumi. Pressure doesn't look too bad. I'm frankly really disappointed in her design as a whole. Just my opinion though. Does she have any perks over other characters? Slow hp gain. Wooow.

  9. well maybe not tier wise, that we will find out later on once the characters get fleshed out. IIRC every char in the game has something changed about them in this update. just the fact that sytem changes happen means that all the characters will have to play some aspect of them differently
  10. It's about conditioning, instinct, and a bit of luck. See, unless you REALLY know your foe, you won't know exactly what they are going to do next. Stagger pressure requires your knowledge of both the player and character, and also system mechanics. If one were to break down what each character with a DP in this game could do on defense, they'd have less than 10 options; 3 of which automatically go to normal, barrier, and instant block. Staggering is more or less trying to get the foe to press a button, to have them not press a button at the right moment. It needs observation. With each jab thrown out the foe could be counting them to see how many you would do so they can choose exactly the right moment to counterattack. It's all about seeing when that moment is for them. You must confuse them on the visual and audio front as well. That is more or less the mindset. To put it into simpler terms you're just stopping mashing and jumping. If the foe insists, the next time you get pressure you know exactly what to look for. And if they respect... Well you need to see if it's genuine. Some people can sniff out the attempt at a mixup and just dp out of it. This is where luck comes in. Honestly it's just how many options you and your character has in beating system mechanics. Makoto loses hard to barrier so she relies on staggers until she can get in a good read.
  11. General threads will always attract attention, that's just the way it is. But there should be more warning signs. No one wants to step in a thread full of shit when there can be rules placed conviently on the front page. At this point there is basically a unanimous decision that the thread cannot continue to function like this. Something needs to happen, or confusion will continue. Whatever. This is a game changing update, sir. Someone new will take the throne or maybe kokonoe will still have it. Regardless, everyone's gameplan, while they remained largely the same, have had core mechanics changed to make the character stronger in some areas and weaker in others.

  13. you guys have to understand; tsubaki is discussed... a bit to much. to the point of becoming incessant. I have nothing against the players, and i'm sure alot of the guys don't either. but, there is a point where people just don't want to hear it anymore. for awhile. technically, I agree, this thread has long ago transitioned into a general thread (with needlessly imposed rules, I might add) - and is kept open for no real reason at this point. members will wander in here and add on to whatever conversation is going on. there isn't enough on this game to give out many facts, so arguments are going to happen every two pages. my recommendation: close this thread
  14. the more hits the more vaccuum and the higher the foe is. 1 hit of of 3c will make the foe hit the ground faster than 2 or 3 hits. so now the 2nd and 3rd hits will be for continuing combos and ending them, while 3c(1) is more of the combo ender.

  19. Well if people wanted an honest game, they got it. At least until número uno appears in the tier list and everyone complains about that char.
  20. I thought something changes regarding ignis regen? If not then yeah relius is still going to be really solid still. I'd love to be wrong about the ignis thing. Fro what I was in a few videos it looked like her meter was going really slow on red. The only problem with rachel is that wind regen. But maybe it isn't too bad, once she uses a wind though she is very likely not to reach 4 winds again without overdrive or getting caught in a few combo videos. Her IOH was nerfed and sort of buffed. Honestly all her nerfs and buff helped her but that regen nerf at least in my opinion is going to hurt her a lot, and her stuff doesn't really contribute to saving wind. I suppose 236c will aid her greatly in zoning, and new bat lightning should do something as well. Not necessarily on offense will she be bad. More in the nature that she will become even more unforgiving for making a mistake.
  21. So basically the jc launch is indeed more lenient than its 6a counterpart. Interesting way of buffing her combo routes. 5cc floats yes, won't be able to do standing combos afterward. If you meant 5c, no it doesn't float even with 5d. 5c shouldn't be mandatory in these combos, though it does boost the damage. One should be able to buffer 5d into the 6c as well which sounds more reliable than the first method, though it may not give those extra pixels of distance to continue the combo from max range 5c and such. Soniti, jc launches like 6a now. It needs 5d done within a second of using it in order to work. 5cd 6c is still the standing part of the combo, and if 5d was used late enough, the jc after 6c will launch them to continue the combo with the foe in juggle state.
  22. I know jc launches now with wind but I don't seem to understand how this is working in those particular combos, especially since the wind is used during 5cd. Is there a more lenient timing for this as opposed to the 6a launch in the current version? Speaking of, does 6a still launch with 5d or is that gone?
  23. Most people who have a meaningful drive got their pretty little skulls pushed in. Went from "you have a weakness without drive" to "you mismanage this and you're fucking toast". Rachel, relius, hazama, kokonoe I guess, amane, even litchi got this treatment. People with bland drives are perfectly fine, so rush down is going to be a beast in this game. These characters except maybe kokonoe and litchi did not get enough to warrant changing the drives the way they did, I feel. Like wtf is rachel and relius supposed to do for 10 seconds at a time now. They are probably going to take a massive fall from grace.
  24. Zio the shit out of her. If she has the persona she is at complete advantage full screen, and Liz only has zio. Turns out it's a great tool vs her. None of anything yukari has beats it unless Liz used the move too late or both chars are in different horizontal planes. Regular arrows hit zio more reliably out of startup. Those should not be challenged too much. However grounded arrows even on ch do not lead into much. It's the only tool to be outright respected in neutral. Once she starts setting shit up its zio time. Requires a bit of prediction but hey. Set up bombs is free zio, setting up ground ball is a zio and air wind ball needs an air zio. That's the majority of the matchup. Very scarcely will you be able to get away with anything else. So mix it up between zio shots and trying to get in so that she has to play your rock paper scissors game. If you manage to get in midrange jb should do nicely as an air to ground when spaced correctly. Once in, whether you broke her persona or she made a boo boo, you can do your normal stuff, just remember her do doesn't need Isis. One of those simple yet complicated matchups, I think it's easier than fighting yukiko honestly. It requires extreme patience but all that waiting around is free meter and more chances to punish her. If you can sit on a life lead, do so. Just remember if she gets a wind ball out you have to be 2x more careful not to be caught pressing too many buttons.
