  1. I'd push that Tsubaki is worse than Rachel. Quite a bit worse in fact.
  2. If you want, we can try to get a 1$ side tournament going for BB. That, and I'll be taking money matches from people I don't know methinks. If you're down for trying to organize a side tournament, let me know, and I'll email the Gamefest people to make sure they don't have some kind of aneurysm because we're taking in money for it or something.
  3. Banning it in theory would only exclude some people from entering a tournament, which people who use beginner mode are really just free money. I say let them enter for nothing more than to inflate the pot for the tournament. They'll hopefully learn they're doing something wrong and play like a normal person before long.
  4. Beginner mode only gives you access to like half of your character's moveset, forces you to barrier block everything, distortions have a charge up time, and you can't burst. The only thing that stupid is that Tager can do standing 720s (although it's possible to do them anyway). A half-competent player can beat someone using beginner mode, so it really shouldn't be a problem. I could see people raging if they lose to a beginner mode player, but that's about the only problem I could see.
  5. I'll go. We can get lots of pizzas and stuff. Also, for next weekend (NEC weekend) Gamefest is going to be going on in Klaus on Saturday. I think because of how few of us there will be, John and I are going to go to that instead of meeting on Friday so we can beat scrubs and stuff.
  6. So, I started trying to learn Litchi's Itsuu loop between classes today. I really should have done it a long time ago. The 13 Orphans ender version really is stupid easy.
  7. All I can say is, have fun with that.
  8. I play her at offline events all the time, just never in tournament. Any wins I get with her are usually because people just aren't used to her gimmicks, and best 2/3 games is too much time. Generally people will start adjusting by then, and I'm not solid enough with her. That, or I'll run into a Hazama. Fuck that matchup.
  9. 5$ and food? That sounds amazing actually. I'd just need transportation, but I'd be down for that probably monthly next semester.
  10. I've been playing for a year and I'm still free.
  11. I saw more of Platinum than I think I could ever care to see.. Regardless, I hope they patch it to be the opening for the console release as well.
  12. You don't need to be logged into an account to watch it on Nicovideo though.
  13. Now we can act like we have far more players than we actually do by making up like 12 names for each of us.
  14. In that case, I'm going to hang around the dorm until 3ish then. I feel like playing Persona 3 right about now anyway.
  15. Alrighty then. Also, I think I'm going to go hang out at Tech Rec after lunch today, so I should be there at like 2. I'm bringing my stick in case anyone wants to play Guilty Gear or Blazblue.
  16. Looks awesumo Paul. Can't wait to goof off with player names on Friday... Also, who all is going to Tension Pulse that might be able to bring me? =P
  17. Blazblue only had placeholders on the disc. The 80MB updates that have been getting periodically released contain the character data.
  18. How much would the GG tournament cost? 5$ like Blazblue?
  19. SEB's turnout was fairly disappointing. Just to remind everyone though, that next weekend is Tension Pulse 2010. Details at http://shoryuken.com/f7/tension-pulse-2010-atlanta-ga-november-20th-248130/ . Don't let last weekend's turnout stop you from attending.
  20. Saturday at 1pm. It's 20$ for the door fee and 10$ per tournament.
  21. Where should we be and when then Chris?
  22. Sweet. I'm going to be rather late again though, so don't wait up on me for a laptop =P
  23. My roommate will be there tonight, as Paul should be modding his stick, and he always brings his xbox and Super 4, and I don't think we'll need 2 Super 4 setups.
  24. You went for a ton of resets in the Taokaka match. Resets shouldn't be your priority, they're there to catch your opponent off guard. If you're dropping half your combos with charge canceling or 22D, the other person will probably catch on, which the Taokaka did, and started mashing 2A while getting hit. In the Hakumen match, you should try not jumping so much. Tsubaki's anti-air 2C is better than doing j.B/C.
  25. It's not like Japan is going to release a new matchup chart this close to BBCS2 coming out. Also, we should discuss South East Battles a bit tomorrow methinks.
